When I first got my Roland RD-700gx I bought it from experience playing on the earlier version at some gigs called the Roland RD-700sx and I didn't know if it was going to reach standards, but it did ... read more [+]and it took my breathe away. The feel of being on a piano while playing a keyboard is genuine and the piano feature that lets you adjust how high the top of the virtual piano is is amazing. The wide variety of sounds lets you play virtually almost any instrument, even ones that aren't even instruments. The EQ effect on it lets you adjust the EQ to any way you want it, for a more structured sound or for a simple higher or lower sound. A very interesting effect that i like is that you can play 4 instruments at once by setting 4 buttons to them and adjusting how loud you want each of them with separate faders. I know this keyboard will probably be one that lasts me my whole life and i am very excited about it. Roland really hit the jack pot with this keyboard! close [-]

I've had this instrument for about a month now and I am truly impressed. I play mostly classical music so when I would switch from a keyboard to a real piano, I often felt frustrated. I had a roland... read more [+] before, but it was really old and definitely didn't have that "real" feeling... or sound. It served it's purpose well though... had it for 12 years. This is by far the most superior digital instrument I've ever played. Not only can my hands barely tell the difference, but the sound quality is absolutely amazing. Well done Roland!!!! close [-]

They were all a sacrifice in comparison to the real thing - and I always yearned to have the Steinway back. Well I still do but not as much - thanks to this wonderful instrument.September 12, 2009 Music Background: Pro musician The Roland RD-700GX is a significant step up from the other great board they made, it's predecessor the RD-700SX (which I also had). If you're a player and know a good sound you owe it to yourself to check this out. And, if you must compromise from the real thing, for me anyway - this has them all beat! The action (superb) and tones (exquisite) and the add-on sound packs too!!! Wow!! Oh btw, I also had the new Kurzweil PC3X for a little under a month. I sent it back - they need to develop the piano across a wider spectrum - at times it sounds great but only limited. Try playing any Liszt on it and it's game over. But I love my Roland RD-700GX! I also have the Orchestral and Symphonic Strings packs installed too! cheers! close [-] The one to buy!

After looking at all the major brands it won hands down. The keyboard action sold me. Each model has a piano that sounds better then its competition, but the key action is outstanding. I'm a studen... read more [+]t and the transition from digital to real piano would frustrate me. The RD-700GX is like having an expensive grand piano for a fraction of the cost or space. I was looking at the digital upright, but didn’t like the look or the key action of them. I purchased a Kohler KD-140 and what a nightmare that was. It went back. The only thing that almost made me not buy the RD-700GX was that it would sit in my formal front room. After some team work of my wife, father in-law, and me we made a cabinet for. Wish a picture could be attached. The cabinet looks so much better then the FD-7 or any of its competition. close [-]
