"PERFECTION"
Super-clean 48V power!
I've been having a little bit of a crackling noise issue on some of my preamps lately. At first, I was concerned it was the microphones. But it was only happening when I was supplying phantom power - both directly to condenser mics, or to a Cloudlifter CL-2 boosting the signal of an SM7B. It was especially noticeable on my AKG 451 small diaphragm condenser, and made tracking strummed acoustic guitars quite frustrating. All of my preamps are modded, all of my power is conditioned and carefully run, and it was driving me nuts.
Very simply put, I picked up this ART unit, and no more noise! If you have this kind of phantom power-related crackle, or if your preamps simply don't supply phantom power, this does the job perfectly.
A GREAT product!
This is a well designed and ruggedly built piece of gear. It works like a charm and I use a small 12VDC power supply with it rather than using a battery. I couldn't ask for better.
Quiet phantom power for a video camera
Run Studio Project mics thru this to a Juiced Link preamp from a Canon video. Super low noise!
Very up to the need.
I am really impressed with this Phantom power supply. I is a tad more expensive, but I learnd over 45 years ago that you get what you pay for if you get it from a reputable source and that's where Sweetwater comes in.
I love to deal with only one place.
phamtom power 48v
Great piece of equipment for condenser mic's and some video equipment, works well. Will power two mic's at the same time, wall plug power or 9 volt battery power.

==================================
Not much to say about the operation of this unit, it does the job and does it well. Solidly built and aesthetically pleasing, as most ART products are.
Two design complaints though, one critical and one not so critical.
1) (not so critical, but annoying) The battery compartment lid must be removed entirely along with its locking bolt in order to change the battery. If you don't start the bolt in its zero position when re-assembling the lid then the lid won't lie flat with the chassis. The lid and locking bolt could easily become lost if fumbling onstage to quickly change the battery.
Additionally, the battery clip itself is the usual cheap type found in so many stomp boxes, with thin wires which could easily be damaged, rendering the unit useless. This is not ART's fault per-se, but I do find it incredible that in this day and age a more robust type of battery clip hasn't been incorporated into these types of audio tools.
2) (critical) The on/off button protrudes from the chassis at 3/16th of an inch when in the off position. It could very easily become activated accidentally when crammed into a gig-bag, killing the battery. A partially recessed button and/or some sort of 'anti-tamper' guard over the button would be a better design. I could make one of the latter myself, which I probably will, but I shouldn't have to ... it should have been taken into consideration when ART designed the unit.
I would rate this product 5 stars otherwise, but for the above it only gets 3.5
