The aptly named PRS Paul's Guitar is essentially a production version of Paul's personal guitar that he has been playing for years. Paul chose and specified every aspect of this guitar from its tonewood selections, "brushstroke" birds inlays, pickups, Pattern neck shape, the new finish, and the new stoptail bridge design. The new bridge features an aluminum bridge with brass inserts where the string and bridge meet, which promotes the musical high range of the PRS Paul's Guitar.
Solid mahogany topped with maple looks and sounds amazingTo give the PRS Paul's Guitar a rich yet balanced sound, PRS began by choosing the tried-and-true combination of mahogany topped with a select quilt maple top. The mahogany body gives you natural tonal warmth, which is offset perfectly by the brighter tone of its maple top. Together, these tonewoods give you an incredibly balanced sound.
Custom-wound 408 pickups and switching provide endless toneWhen PRS released their Signature Limited model, everyone who got a chance to check out the new 408 pickups was absolutely blown away. But true to his perfectionist nature, Paul Reed Smith continued to tweak these 100% proprietary pickups to perfection. In fact, he discovered that by tightening up the pickup field on a 408 Bass pickup, he was actually able to create an even better-sounding treble pickup. The PRS Paul's Guitar electric guitar features a pair of these amazing 408 pickups. But it doesn't stop there, these amazing pickups also have dedicated mini switches, so you can shift to the timeless single-coil sound instantaneously. Best of all, there is no volume loss when switching to single-coil mode!
