From Our Research Team:

A Pro Version of Parker's PM-20

Okay, any time you start writing about Parker Guitars, you immediately use the term "unique," then try hard to find three or four other words that capture the essence of that special "Parker Look." Of course, there really aren't any other adjectives. Simply put, Parker Guitars aren't for everyone. Well, at least until you happen to pick one up and play it. At that point, you either "get it" or you don't, and a surprising number of players have become converts since Parker first introduced the unique Fly guitar. But we're here to talk about the PM-20PRO, which is the upscale version of Parker's original dual humbucker-equipped PM-20. All it takes is one look and you know what Parker is going for here. Let's see: Two humbuckers, single cutaway, mahogany body and neck with a flame maple top.... Got it yet? Of course you do. But let's not be too hasty in thinking this is a "me too" guitar.

The Pro features some nice upgrades to the mahogany-body PM-20, namely two Seymour Duncan humbucking pickups - a JB Humbucker in the bridge position and a Jazz Humbucker in the neck position with coil-tapping, of course for extra tonal versatility. Then there's that premium flame maple top and the crowning touch, abalone purfling around the entire body. We like it, but others might find it a bit "over the top." But that's for you to decide!

Parker PM-20PRO Features at a Glance:
  • Single cutaway, solidbody with flame maple top over mahogany body
  • One-piece mahogany set neck with 22 frets and ebony fingerboard
  • Dual Seymour Duncan humbucking pickups with coil-tapping
  • Abalone purfling plus string-through-body design and Tone Pros bridge
  • Custom padded gig bag included

Single cutaway, solidbody with flame maple top over mahogany body
It's the Parker take on the very classic single cutaway, solidbody guitar with two humbuckers. The PM-20PRO starts with a solid mahogany body, topped off with a premium quality flame maple top in a sumptuous Honey Burst finish. The generous cutaway gives you easy access to the highest frets for those upper-octave solo excursions.

One-piece mahogany set neck with 22 frets and ebony fingerboard
The Parker PM-20PRO's one-piece premium mahogany neck has a nicely contoured shape; not too fat, not too thin. The ebony fingerboard is a pleasant addition in this price range. If you've never owned a guitar with an ebony fingerboard, it's the perfect blend of maple hardness and rosewood warmth. The 22 frets are nicely finished and allow for easy bends and fluid vibrato.

Dual Seymour Duncan humbucking pickups with coil-tapping
A guitar this nice deserves some special pickups, so Parker installed a pair of Seymour Duncan humbuckers on the PM-20PRO, with a JB humbucker in the bridge position and a Jazz humbucker in the neck. Both have coil-tapping for additional tonal versatility. From crisp, clean rhythm sounds to scorching hot solos, this one has it all!

Abalone purfling plus string-through-body design and Tone Pros bridge
Some truly classic guitars have had abalone purfling around the body, but they usually have astronomical price tags. So when we saw that the Parker PM-20PRO had this feature, we were pleasantly surprised. It definitely adds some visual zing to a guitar that already has plenty. It also features a string-through-body design with a Tone Pros bridge.

Custom padded gig bag included
To protect your investment, Parker includes a surprisingly well-padded gig bag at no extra charge. In most cases, it's all you'll ever need (until your upcoming world tour kicks off, of course).

I could go on and on about the tons of tone you get.switching between the humbucker and single coil. or how the fretboard feel is just right with frets that are finished close to perfect. i,m used to ... read more [+]jumbo frets...but the pm 20 pro comes with fret that are reminicent of vintage gibson...a little on the low side...but you can feel the beautiful ebony fretboard just barely kiss your finger tips as you you you extract soulful tone after tone anywhere you chose along the neck...what a beautiful guitar...to the eye as well as the ear...
i belive that some of the finest guitar ever built in the history of man are being built today...
that's a bold statement i know...but with makers like ken parker raising the bar at a price point that is just unheard of with these appointments you might be blow away too...but you won't know till you try one...then you'll know... close [-]
