Good value for the price
Very light weight and stable for the price. It's nice to have one light piece of equipment in the old drum bag. I need cover all my hardware to this material.
PDP 700 Series Lightweight Straight Cymbal Stand
This stand is what I was looking for. Affordable price. The package is small but the stand actually expands to a bigger size. The materials feel solid. I bought the Meinl HCS Cymbal pack and they hold in place pretty well even the 20" Ride that is a little heavy. The stand doesn't move or slide because the footing of the legs are like rubber even if I hit hard the cymbals. So far I have no complaints about this hardware, its just amazing!
PDP Cymbal Stands 700 Series
First, I bought these stands thinking that they were going to be the cheapest ones out there and maybe they are in price but not in quality. The leg footing is rubber that holds in place the stand and it doesn't shake or move or anything while you play. I like them a lot. I bought the last 5 Sweetwater had in their inventory, if they had more, I would have bought them as well because they are remarkably good hardware. Thanks to Sweetwater for taking their job and their customers so seriously. I received my merchandise in less than 48hrs since the moment I paid for it till I had it in my hands. All the way from Indiana to Puerto Rico. Simply incredible!
Low stand, but perfect for my ride.
I was surprised to find that this PDP cymbal stand was not tall enough to stand higher than my kit -- it was too low to set anywhere in the center my 11 piece (1986) Ludwig Rocker (USA), as the stand stood at the same exact height as my kit. Therefore, it was not tall enough to hold a cymbal "over" it.
However, I was happy to find that it's perfect for my ride cymbal, which only stands over my floor toms -- as the toms sit lower than the kit itself.
So, if you have a kit that sits higher like mine, this stand will not be tall enough, but it will be for smaller kits. And it's perfect for a ride cymbal, at least in my case.
I needed to declutter my cymbal setup and put a lighter cymbal on my kick drum's tom mount, which had 2 heavier cymbals held by a stacker.
This did the trick.
(stand is holding my ride to the very left in pic).
On the cheap, but, not so cheap after all.
I had a space to fill after a bit of moving things around my new Ludwig evolution 6 PC kit as I'm sure some shall note. I decided after using sweetwater, for my first time on another purchase, to get that space filled. I was going all Ludwig for all hardware and accessories until I kept searching and ran across this stand. The price was right and figured as cheap as it was if it didn't work out I'd lost very little. Well, after it arrived, sweetwaters outstanding time wise, I was absolutely impressed with this stand! I ve also ordered to go with it a Z china bell cymbal. Both arrived in record time and in outstanding condition but that seems sweetwaters overall goal...SERVICE! I'm an ole skin beater from way back(1965 to now) and still play church regularly. I wont steer anyone wrong, it's a strong, simple, nice looking stand and holds up when your feeling a bit mean and work'n on some sweat. Have a great holiday and ROCK ON! Charles House.
