This magnificent guitar was treated with Martin's Vintage Tone System (VTS) in order to replicate the aged appearance and tonality of the 1930 original. That being said, the longer you play them, the better they feel. In fact, you'll eventually reach that pivotal moment when this becomes your favorite neck! Many players find that when they become accustomed to barrel and heel necks, they quickly realize that these necks allow them to anchor the palm of their hand in more ways than a thinner neck. The Martin OM-45 Deluxe - the world's most sought-after acousticIf you've spent any time around serious guitar collectors, they've undoubtedly mentioned the Martin OM-45 Deluxe (but they probably don't own one). In 1930, C. F. Martin & Company sold 11 OM-45s for $225 each - at the time, they were the most expensive guitars on the market. A step above Martin's Style 45 model, the OM-45 featured an inlaid pickguard and bridge and engraved gold tuners with pearl buttons. Additionally, Martin used carefully selected tonewoods for the OM-45, making it one of the highest quality guitars available. The OM-45 was discontinued within a year, due to the scarcity of the materials needed to build it. Of the original production models, only five are known to still exist today. The most notable example of the Martin OM-45 Deluxe is the one played by Roy Rogers in the 1930s.
