Carson McClainNot only is the Nord Lead 2X a great keyboard for live performance, it's also an amazing tool for sound design and scoring. This synth can get pretty extreme, so don't expect to be scoring the next Mel Gibson drama (unless it's an alien horror movie filled with psycho-drama and suspense!). But if you're looking for a versatile instrument suitable for multiple genres of electronic - or a synth capable of creating a never-heard-before soundset - the Nord Lead 2X is the board that will take you to the next level in your synth endeavors. sweedish meatbawlz

Ever bought a piece of gear you thought would be great unpacked it stared at it turned it on played with it for a few hours then looked for the receipt so you could return it?February 1, 2005 Music Background: This is not one o... read more [+]f those pieces.After turning it on for the first time i spent 10 minutes just tweaking the first factory preset.I ran through briefly the other few hundred presets tweaking then resaving on the fly it was that easy. I have not opened the manual yet and may never. The keys feel great and the wood heavy duty springloaded pitch stick is great not to mention the pumice modwheel so your sweaty finger wont slip. It is a board that you may never give up, i have a few classic pieces like that that i pray will never die. 10 for build quality 10 for conrols 9 for presets 10 for my tweaked out ones 10 for support and service from Sweetwater close [-] 2x in a nut shell
