Desk mounted boom arm
I have had this for over a year and it is still as good as it was the day it arrived!
I have had so many of these and none could hold up. I move it around, A LOT!! LoL
For this price, I would absolutely recommend getting this arm. It's solid and very well built.
As always, thank you Greg and Sweetwater for such a smooth transaction and for your knowledge. Greg has a recommendation for anything I'm trying to accomplish!
Exceeded my expectations!
Great boom. Very heavy duty, would handle any mic or camera you wanted to use. The integral mic cable is a great feature.
Table Top Mic Stand
The stand works perfectly. I use it for rehearsing with my head rush looper board, And recording with my task my TASCAM DP 32….
so glad I got
I had been thinking about it for a awhile. I am so glad I got it finally. so helpful in decluttering
Great product with great service to match
I ordered this product for work. The arm works great. The main selling point for me was that the base is able to be screwed into a surface, which is exactly what I needed. In addition to the great product, I also received fantastic customer service. After placing my order, Ian reached out personally to make sure I had anything and everything I needed. He was extremely helpful and knowledgable, and I'm the future I'll definitely return to Sweetwater for music gear I might need.
Great mic boom desk arm
This fits my needs perfectly! I really like the mic cord incorporated into the stand! Now I have to find a pop shield to fit!
Functional and flexible
This stays steady when you need it to but is easily moved around to adjust to change from sitting to standing height. The integrated XLR cable is a huge plus.
Works Great for my SM7B
I got this Boom Arm, mostly because the one I'd initially ordered wasn't in stock, but I'm glad I got this one instead. It works wonderfully for my mic. No loose areas and feels really sturdy whenever I move my mic around the swivel for recording/streaming and out of the way for non-recording work! Definitely recommend.
Good mike boom
I use it for my Heil pr=781 mike holds it real well
Strong and well made
Holds my RE20 very well.
Exceptional Value
I've been using one of these for 2 years in a radio broadcast / podcast studio and it still works perfectly. So when I needed to add another mic in the studio, getting another one of these was an easy choice. After 2 years it still holds a medium weight mic and shockmount where I put it. These booms are all steel and well made. Two things make this a really good buy. First is the built in mic cable. As you can see in the picture it's installed in the top and back tubes but there is no stress on the cable so it should last a long time. This makes a very professional looking installation. The second thing is that this boom arm also comes with a base you can screw to a desk besides the "C" clamp. I've seen more expensive arms that only have the clamp. I used the clamp for a while and it works well, it will fit a surface up to 2". I now use the screw bases for these screwed to the upper level of my studio desk. I recommend this mounting because, not only does it look more professional, but I think it makes them a little more stable. I also have a small recording studio that is full of On Stage mic stands and booms, 3 amp stands, and more guitar stands that I can keep track of. You just can't go wrong with On Stage products!
Boom Boom
I purchased two of these for stereo recording of an acoustic from my Lazy-boy when semi reclined. The are well constructed considering the price. Both a fixed and clamp on mount are provided. I added a 13" adjustable gooseneck and the extra weight had no effect. These booms swing in and out of position with ease without using floor stands to trip over. I can just reach over, grab each microphone and test mic positioning at will without assistance or getting up to re-position them.
awesome for the price
Don't expect it to be perfect but for the price, its great.
Boom arm works fine.
I haven"t seen the more expensive ones but this one works fine. Good construction, clean design. It"s a bit smaller than I imagined so I had to clamp it to the front of the desk, next to me, instead of across my wide (approx 4 feet) studio table. But it swings out of the way easily and holds the mic well, and keeps it"s position as it"s supposed to.

Awesome Boom
This is a great boom, took minutes to get mounted to my desk and with the C clamp and the ten foot cable Im able to move the boom to mic my guitar amp. Holds my MXL 990 mic perfectly. Customer Service A+ Received a call and email from the sales engineer, and always received a reply from beginning to end of the sale and delivery process.
Perfect for voiceover
SUPERB mic boom! I bought two: one for my desk to knock out quick auditions and talkback, and one for my booth. It handily holds a Neumann TLM103. If you're a voice talent, don't hesitate to add this to your studio.
Works great for my needs!
I've never used one of these before, so my range of expertise is limited, but as a musician performing live for several years who wnted something in my studio that could be always at the ready to track a scratch vocal or use for live streaming shows this works just like I think it should. I use mine with the PreSonus PD70 and it definitely handles it just fine!
BOOM ARM
FOR THE MONEY... EXCELLENT BUY. WORKS AS STATED OUT OF BOX. TYPICAL ON STAGE FEEL... WILL SEE ABOUT LONGEVITY.
Just Right!
It works just like the ones we use at the radio station at a fraction of the cost.
Middle Screw Head is not static, so not as great for hanging down.
Stand works exactly as advertised, but seems to be designed having the mount on the bottom with the stand sitting vertically (springs actually help it stay in place in this direction).
I wanted to have it coming from the ceiling of my vocal booth, to get rid of stands all together in the booth, and in order to accomplish this you need to 1, get the springs off the middle section to release some of the tension pulling the arm down, and 2 to always have an Allen wrench of the proper size handy.
Now with that being said, it has eliminated the use of boom stands in the vocal booth and just looks so professional, so I cannot overly complain. But I am sure I can't be the only person who wanted to use it in this fashion, so seeing some more flexibility would have been nice.
Boom Boom
Works great sturdy construction with strong springs hold my Neumann securely.
The only part that I have an issue with is the table clamp which did not hold a 90-degree angle to the desk surface when tightened. I may search for a better clamp or use the screw down base.
Happy Trails Y'all
Easy application
Mic stand was easy to install and came with two options, a temp set up where a C Clamp is used to attach the stand to the table or you can do a permanent install with a mounting plate. Love the mic cord already patched through the stand, huge help. So far the spring has held solid, it was east to mount my microphone. Highly recommend for home use/podcast/etc.
happy i got it
the stand is perfect. the included cable however doesnt seem to be the best quality but if you are not connecting and unconnecting it constantly it should be fine
Well made for the price range
#1. We received it in "record" time. That was great!
#2. It is sturdy, works well with our Audio Technica (stays where I put it, etc.)
#3. The already installed XLR cable was nice! Made the installation process a breeze.
Good Boom Arm
Works well and is built solidly. Does what it should for a reasonable price.
Saves Time, Hassle, and Stress
This Desk Mounted Broadcast Mic Boom is doing the trick. Previously I would often hit the bottom of my mic stand with my feet, my violin bow, you name it. Now the mic glides silently into place while tracking at home at my desk...whether I am quickly switching between acoustic violin, or doing a podcast.
I installed so that I could swing it out toward any guest as well. Highly recommend! Also, the two variations of mount included, allow me to permanently install one while saving the other for taking to future gigs and attaching to my table on site.
You might want the upgraded version if you have long hair that could get caught in the exposed springs.
Great product
very good for their price range, does exactly what I need them to do. Feels like they will eventually break down but works fine for the last week or so since I got them
For light mics, remove a spring
I had the same problem as another reviewer, who used an elastic band to keep the boom from raising. Instead I removed one of the springs, which are easily removed, and that seems to work fine. My mic now stays where I want it to, perhaps helped by tightening the screw at the elbow. For heavier mic setups you may need both springs.
The built-in cable is really nice and everything is mostly metal, so with a little tinkering it seems to be worth the money and more professional and neater than cheaper rigs.
Good but...
Works great on flat desktop surface. Wanted to mount on wall or celling but wouldn't work. Otherwise works perfect.
Good for non critical stuff.
If you have a decent channel strip, you can cut out all the weird vibrations/resonances the stand imparts. But for non critical uses, it gets the job done. If I need to do final vocals, it's far too noisy.
Works as expected....fails as unexpected
Overall these stands (I bought a pack of two) are pretty good. They do everything they are supposed to. BUT if you get these, beware of the rubber pad on the upper part of the clamp. Eventually the rubber grip loosens, as if the glue melts (!!???). When that happens your nice tight working boom stands flops over, perhaps hitting your recording gear or an instrument, because the clamp is no longer Tight. When my boom arm flopped, I was fortunate...no damage. So take off the rubber pad, grip the working surface with the metal only. Better still, take off the rubber pad, tighten the clamp, and screw a safety bar of some sort over it. Your microphones and instruments are more important than your antique oak desk. RJ
Arm
This arm works great for keeping the mic where it's needed. The only downside is the cable is pretty low quality and also slightly too short.4 out of 5 check out chengwoo music
Gets the job done on a budget
While it's nothing to write home about, it's getting the job done. It's the budget way to look more professional and clean up your workspace.
Cons:
- I have to tighten the grip on the desk every so often... Probably more because of my paranoia.
- The threads don't really lock in with the microphone clip super great, especially with a heavier mic. One of those "mic stand thread bolts" might help with that issue?
- I'm using an RE320 with it, and it's a little noisy without a shockmount.
- cable is whatever. I wouldn't trust it on the road or even a walking path haha
It Half Works
Based on what I could see, I was under the impression that you could just freely move this boom and it would hold anywhere you left it off. This is not the case. With the elbow joint loosened, it automatically shoots up to full height. If you plan to just stand in your studio, it might be fine. I have to be seated, but unfortunately the elbow joint screw stripped itself almost immediately. The reason I'm giving 3 stars is because I held it down with a rubber band and honestly, that works for me. It's at the right height, and I technically still have the option of holding it higher. The XLR cable is super convenient as well. I wish this was what I expected it to be, but at the very least it's serving a purpose. The screw holding the mic angle is pretty great.
Clamp broke after I hand tightened it
The stand is a good value for the money overall, but I'm going to have screw the stand onto my desk now instead of using the alternate clamp attachment that broke when I tightened it after adjusting the position.
On stage stands packages different items with same part #
I ordered the same product number and everything maybe a month ago, and this one is different in a lot of ways. The knobs are different, the clamp on the desk doesn't seem the same as the original one, and the male xlr was put together very poorly. I had to undue the set screw in order to line it up right and plug it into anything. This is in no way any fault of Sweetwater. It is in the packaging / production process.
Not Great.
This mic stand doesn't hold the weight it says it will and you deal with loud spring noises anytime it's moved. None of the tightening knobs on the joints stay tight or support the weight of any mic I've used on it.
