All you need !

By Mike from New Orleans on February 12, 2024 Music Background: Just like many others, played because I love to see other people enjoying it.

So, I have been using mine for over 10 years and other than the material peeling off around the handle and edges it is fantastic ! I use mine with a T.C. Helicon acoustic harmony pedal which lets me combine guitar and vocals into one xlr out which feeds channel one. This leaves channel 2 for a second vocal microphone and can run a second guitar thru a reverb pedal into the aux input and it sounds great. Sometimes I will use the aux input to run a Cajon with a bass drum mic which also works great with a 1/4 inch to xlr adapter.
Then when its time to play in a full band with an electric I run my vocals thru channel 1 and my pedal board into channel 2 and use it as my monitor and feed the board thru the di on the back.
Had the big Marshalls, mesas, fenders, big sound systems, mixing boards, monitors etc…now that stuff just collects dust.
I will be using it tomorrow with a front porch jam during Mardi Gras with my daughter and I singing and my son on cajon. I will however face it towards me and use a pair of powered speakers coming out of the back xlr to face the party in the front yard and the folks passing on the street.
So all of this is coming out of one little Fishman Artist with the controls right beside me…AWSOME !

Quality and performance

By Joe from AZ. on January 5, 2024 Music Background: 64 years of being a drummer and 25 years of being a fiddle player.

I've played Fishman amps in the past but they were very heavy. The Loudbox Artist is very lightweight and seems to give me exactly what I need and has all the options I really like.

Great Amp

By Jason Fitzsimmons from Land or Lakes, FL on December 15, 2023

Use mine to go direct out to a PA. Fantastic acoustic amp and no longer have a need for any pedals with the exception of a tuner. Have used it for two years and have zero regrets.

A good amp for an electric cello!!

By Sweetwater Customer on October 17, 2023

As an amateur builder of musical instruments, I thought building an electric cello would be a nice challenge. Since I design the builds as well, I did the same with the cello. An Underwood acoustic bass pickup was used. Since the installation of the pickup were not done to any recognized standard, I just assumed either there would be no or just bad tone when completed.
With the build was complete, I played the instrument thru my studio monitoring system and was surprised by the tone, not good, but not bad either. The same results with a guitar tube amp.

I contacted my sales rep at Sweetwater, John Castro, who guided my thru some possibilities for a good amp. The final choice was the Fishman Loudbox Artist BT 120. Just out of the box, the tone dramatically improved. After some experimentation with an additional preamp, what sounds the best is just this Fishman amp. The tone of the cello is open and warm through the range of the instrument. No distortion at all. The EQ on this amp is musical and small adjustments help the tone. The on board reverb is very good. Just play a note, and the reverb effect sounds like an acoustic cello has just been played.

Keep in mind that the Underwood pickup has no preamp. There is a preamp built into the Fishman amp with the use of a 5M Ohm pot at the input.

This review may not help a guitarist make a choice for amps, but if you play an electric cello, for home practice, or a small venue, this is the amp!

And my thanks to John for his guidance.

Best acoustic guitar amp out there

By JR from Reno, Nv on October 3, 2023 Music Background: Professional musician

I bought this amp so I wouldn't have to haul my PA to my small art and wine bar gigs. Not only does it sound fantastic, but it takes up 1/4 of the stage real estate my old PA did. I've been gigging for 35 years. . . this is THE best acoustic guitar amp out there. Ad vocals, with great effects, and you can only deduce this is an amp you need.

Duo gig

This small pack of dynamite works great for my duo act!

Great and great company.

By Jim Botsford from Michigan on July 20, 2023 Music Background: Acoustic performance, recording enthusiast.

Great little amp. Perfect combination of size, controls, effects, DI and so on. And plenty loud. Need more then DI out to FOH or PA.

The best next part. Mine is 12 years old and gig worn to the max. Started acting up. Sent it the head and they sent me a new one 50 bucks flat fee. Plus the shipping to Fishman. Got it all put back together. Works perfect again. Ready for the next decade.

One Great Acoustic Sound Set Up.

By Gerry Pair from CA on May 5, 2023 Music Background: Old Country Player.

I was the music at The Capital City Motorcycle Club. Rollin On The River Motorcycle Ride. In Sacramento Ca. The Fishman Artist. Sounded great. Do not be fooled about how small this amp is. She packs a loud punch. I barley had her turned up and everybody could hear me real good. Can,t wait to do some more. So if ya need a Great Acoustic Amp. That has a clear and Loud Sound. Buy one.

I love this amp.

By William Cogswell from Lowell, MA on February 24, 2023

I'm a gigging acoustic finger style guitarist. While my preference is small gigs where I can play unamplified, when I do need to get amplified I like to mic the guitar. The Fishman Loudbox Artist is perfect for small to medium sized venues and can hold its own with a noisy crowd. Its feedback suppression works extremely well and the sound running a Royer R-121 ribbon microphone through the Loudbox is very true to my guitars. I couldn't be happier.

True sound from a little box

By Sweetwater Customer on February 24, 2023 Music Background: Christian worship leader

This little mighty mite packs a crisp, clean sound into a little footprint, which is great for cleaning up a performance platform. The onboard effects are good, but not as easy to use on stage without having the foot switch to go with it. The flexibility of the single mixed DI out or the two channel-specific DI outs gives great flexibility for plugging into the sound system of the auditorium. Lots to love, but it's not a cheap amp, so it should be lovable. Some online reviews knock the flimsy vinyl of the casing, but I cannot comment on that after having it only a few weeks. To date, I'm very pleased.

Awesome sound in a compact package.

By Alan Foucault from Newburyport Ma on February 20, 2023

The Fishman Artist is my go to setup for most of my acoustic solo gigs. Plenty of volume for most solo environments. The quality of the sound is a big winner. Nice clean effects, and a warm overall tone. I also own the mini charge, and wanted to get the great Fishman sound with more reach. This amp delivers! I carry the Artist, a Roland amp stand, mike stand, and a stool. 10 minute setup and breakdown. Added a Singer 2 harmony pedal and the rig is complete! More volume than I can use, quality of the sound is top shelf!

all around amp/mic combo for performance

By Tom Morris from Chatham, IL on December 30, 2022 Music Background: part time professional for over 50years and still going..

to be fair I had one of these before, wasn't using it, sold it, but now Im doing some gigs again so I bought another one. This amp is small enough for a backyard concert yet big enough to compete inside a country band with steel, keyboard, drums etc. The sound is simply amplified guitar and voice but If you want reverb on both and chorus on guitar, its got that too. I have a Fishman 60 loud box and also a 330 PA system but this 120 is normally my choice.

Excellent amp

By Victor Morales from NJ on December 28, 2022 Music Background: Play acoustic since 14 and learning everyday something new.

I discussed with Joe my needs for my acoustic guitar and he recommended this amp. I was a bit hesitant at first but I am so glad I listened to him.

This amp is clean, clear and I had to lower the volume during my event because it was blowing or out performing their system.

Reverbs and chorus are wonderful to have and it is a great buy for the price youannot beat it. I would buy again over and over.

I recommend it for gigs and overall performance. The Bluetooth is a great feature as well for intermissions and brakes.

Thank you Joel Perfetti and sweetwater staff.

Works great sounds great for years

By Barry Joslin from Sanibel Florida on November 25, 2022 Music Background: Guitarist for 30 years; tone snob, gear nerd, worship leader

I've had my loud box artist for several years – before there was a Bluetooth option. It has saved my bacon on many occasions, and is thoroughly reliable. It's totally quiet, but then, Lord Have Mercy, it can get very, very loud. I play a nice dreadnought guitar with an LR Baggs anthem pick up, and sing through an SM58 in the other channel. It's a great amp and sounds wonderful. It's super easy to dial in a great tone, and the onboard effects are very useful. I love this thing and I've used it for years. So if you are on the fence, go ahead and pull the trigger. I've never regretted it. It's not cheap, but, it's a great acoustic amplifier and does exactly what you need it to do. Perfect for smaller-medium rooms/ venues, or for using as a stage monitor in a church setting or larger venue – just run the XLR out of the back into the house system. Then it becomes your stage monitor.

The Difference...

By Sweetwater Customer on September 16, 2022 Music Background: Hobbyist

I can't compare this to other acoustic amps as I am not that knowledgeable, but I did my homework before buying it and looked at several video reviews and written reviews on other sites. Most suggested that the Artist was a better buy than the Mini. You do get more for your money. I was fine with my two little Marshall practice amps until I bought my new Yamaha NCX3. While not that noticeable using my other acoustic electric steel string guitars which are an Ovation Celebrity and a Yamaha APX2, the fact that the Marshall's do have slight hum at the upper volume ranges was more noticeable to me with the acoustic properties of my new Yamaha classical guitar.I had to think long and hard about buying a real acoustic amp because I am not a performer. In the end I'm glad I did. Playing in a small space like my living room puts me very close to the amp. I hear everything, which is why the very slight hum from the Marshall amps was annoying.

This amp has many bells and whistles I will probably never use, like the blue tooth and many of the connections across the back. If I ever sell it I'm sure they will be good features to have, but it isn't going anywhere soon. The fact that I can sit on top of it and hear...NOTHING when I am not playing is exactly what I wanted. The fact that it has both gain and volume is also a great feature, as is the feedback control and effects. The difference between this and my normal practice amp is HUGE. Clean, it exactly reproduces the tonal qualities of my new Yamaha. Rather than sounding "amplified" the tone just gets bigger and fills the room without losing any of what I hear without the amp. It is so clean that I sometimes forget its on. Perfect for my needs.

Works Very Well

By Timothy Schmitt from PORT CHARLOTTE, FL on August 17, 2022 Music Background: 3-4 hour a day player.

Wow. Was having a hard time with my Fishman Loudbox Mini and condensor mics picking up my acoustic guitars that do not have built in electronics. The onboard phantom power with this Fishman Loudbox Artist BT 120 has been a blessing. Now with very little volume on the amp my Audiotechnica AT2020 condensor mics pick up every nuance of my performance. Even my breathing and tummy rumblings at times. Love the headphone feature as well. Tip: standard condensor mics are perfect for the studio/music room with this amp. You can detect subtleties in playing and perfect your performance. However, if you plan to use this amp in the real world invest in good pencil or shotgun mics to cut back on the back ground noise. Without those narrow focus mics and a standard condensor mic will transmit every conversation and minut background sound in the room.
Very satisfied with this amp in combination with condensor microphones. It sure beats miccing up your guitar or being forced to use acoustic guitars with built-in electronics. For me, it was the perfect solution.

Game Changer

By Tom from SPANISH FORT, AL on August 9, 2022 Music Background: Gilmour Academy

Needed something to play my acoustic guitars through. A couple of musicians I knew used the Fishman "Artist" and were very satisfied. I took their advice and couldn't be more happy. If you want to hear your acoustic as the guitar gods intended, get an amplifier made specifically for acoustic guitars.

Thanks to my sales engineer Alberto Rosado-Perez. I appreciate the time you spent with me on the phone, brother. You guys make it so easy.

Built like a tank

By Sweetwater Customer on April 28, 2022

This amp is by far the best for it's price range..It can make any guitar sound just as good as the other expensive amps..I love this amp..
Only one thing they could have done is separate volume for each channel. The master volume controls the volume of both the channels. But other than that the amp sounds great. The tone is awesome. The response is so good .It does the job.Love that leather layer on top and the way it looks..

Blown Away!!!!!

By Tony Miller from Turtle Creek WV on March 15, 2022 Music Background: 40 years Gospel music

I have been playing guitar for years, Bass guitar Electric six string, acoustic steel string and nylon as well. I`ve had different kinds of amps thru the years too but never could find an amp that copied the acoustic sound that sounded right to me. So I normally just went straight to my PA system. I`d heard of these amps but never tried one and I had in my mind that there was no way an 8" speaker could get that kind of sound. Then one evening a friend who had just started playing rhythm for us came over just to kick some stuff around and I ask him to bring his fishman Loudbox Artist. I wanted to hear it. boy was I ever blown away!! I played a steel string flat top thru this thing and it was amazing!! then I went and got one of my classical guitars and was blown away again!! The sound, clarity and when I say clarity, I don`t mean tinty, I mean a clear acoustic sound, was unreal. These guitars are not high end guitars but they are good guitars. I have one low end Taylor but it was the best sounding Taylor in the store that day and they had them all. Pretty is as pretty does. sound is what I like, but needless to say these amps can make any decent guitar sound GREAT!! So the next day I called Dave Snyder at Sweetwater and bought one of these amps! That was about 8 months ago, and still loving it. I use it to gig with and play my acoustics and I also play a tele thru it and it sounds great. The Artist has built in effects and I play a clean sound with my tele so it works great for me , some reverb and a little delay. I do mic it and run it thru the sound system. it has plenty of power to do a fairly large gig with by itself but I use an amp for monitors and sound and run thru my sound system for mixing purposes. I called Dave today and ordered the Loudbox Mini BT just to kick around with at practice or wherever. If it is anything like it`s bigger brother I`ll be happy as can be. The way I use an amp, I feel sure I could use this LB Mini on the road at any gig I have. I have lugged around those refrigerator amps for years now, so if I can give my back a break and get the sound I need out of these little guys, hey I`m all for it. Also takes up less room under the bus too! Like I said before, Pretty is as Pretty does!

More power than you think

By Eric from FL on February 27, 2022 Music Background: One Man solo acoustic performer playing the likes of James Taylor Bob Dylan The Beatles etcetera

This amplifier is incredible. I played a gig last week in a 1500 square foot bar. Neither gain or master went past 50% and it was loud. Not only does it have all this power but the sound is flawless. My acoustic guitar actually sounds like an acoustic guitar not like an acoustic guitar plugged into an amplifier. The effects are great but honestly I just use a little bit of Reverb on each Channel and I'm all set. Just for reference on the vocal Channel I use an sm58 and the acoustic I'm currently playing is a Paul Reed Smith Angeles 60.

This is the best one that I've used so far...

By Eric from FL on February 21, 2022

I would honestly have to say that Fishman makes the best quality acoustic guitar amp available. Is the only one that actually sounds like an acoustic guitar. Now don't get me wrong, there is some great products out there, accurate reproduction of the sound of an acoustic guitar Fishman is the best. As far as power you've nothing to worry about. Two weeks ago I played a bar room that had about 1200 square feet and there were plenty of people there as well I could not take the master volume over halfway as far as the two individual games they were both positioned at about 10 o clock. The effects of really cool but honestly I don't use them except for a little bit of Reverb on my voice as well as the guitar. I honestly wasn't sure whether I had enough power using this to play gigs but you'd be surprised. My only complaint is that the Xperia is not as durable as I would like it to be. Henceforth I use a Fishman cover and never moved the amp without it that way I don't have to risk any visual damage to the amp. Otherwise this is the best amp you could possibly buy as an acoustic musician

Still Learning

By Sweetwater Customer on January 1, 2022 Music Background: Between beginner and intermediate

I really like this amp. Just got amp a few weeks ago and really enjoy using it. When I first started looking at amps, my first choice was the boss 60 watt acoustic singer live amp. After a lengthy conversation with Sweetwater I decided to go with the Fishman loud box artist by 120w amp. I'm between beginner and intermediate fingerstyle player. This amp has a lot of options I don't even understand yet but will figure out. My wife says it's really clear sounding. It helps me hear what I'm playing better. I'm in my late 50's and need all the help I can get. I use it in a 320sqft room and I can adjust the sound (volume) without blowing you out of the room. I'm sure this amp would have enough power to handle playing in a church that seats about 200 people for example. I have a Martin road series guitar with Fishman controls and it works well with this amp. However, I have gone through batteries in my guitar quickly. This is not a high tech review but it might help other simple minded people like me decide to purchase this amp.
It really sounds good!!

WOW!!!!!

By Michael Troy from Melbourne, FL on October 29, 2021 Music Background: Solo/acoustic performer and open mic hero

10 seconds after plugging in and playing a few chords I had a big 'ole grin on my face. I've been playing through another 100w "acoustic" amp for a few years and was never really satisfied with either the sound or the power. I know it seems counterintuitive to go down in wattage, but I really got this to gig with (coffee shop/small bar) as the other amp is more than twice the weight and twice the size of this one. The other amp also only had "dry" outs and since I use powered speakers (which is why I wasn't as concerned about power), the "wet" out would also let me do away with the mixer board. Those are the easy wins, it's smaller, it's lighter and I don't need a board/effects before the speakers.

Now for what I didn't expect, the quality of the sound is amazing! I had fiddled with every knob and switch and added compression pedals, EQ pedals, etc. with the other amp and could never get a sound I really liked. I play a Taylor 412 spruce, and Taylor 414 cedar so for that kind of $ on guitars I want to "hear" them. I plugged into the Fishman straight just to make sure everything was working, and after just a couple tweaks to the EQ on the amp and adding some reverb I was absolutely floored with how incredible it sounds.

The second thing I didn't expect was how much volume I got with such a small amp. With the gain about 10:00 and the master volume at 9:00 (not even 1/4 way to full volume) it was almost as loud as my other amp is at 3/4 volume, and perfectly clear, and beautiful. I would hazard that at 1/2 volume you could easily play a small coffee shop type venue and have plenty of sound with just this amp. They named it "Loudbox" for a reason and they weren't lying!

If you busk, play small venue gigs, or have a solo act, buy this amp! You will not be disappointed!. I haven't run my vocals through it yet, but can't imagine I will be any less impressed.

You need this Amp.

By Gerry Pair from Sacramento Ca on May 8, 2021 Music Background: Country Player and Singer

This can do it all. I thought this amp was just for acoustic guitars. Wrong was I. I played two electric guitars. With humbuckers pickups. It sounded great. This amp dose it all. Can not wait to take it out to some gigs. Buy one. Will not be sorry.

Masked Guitarist

By Lawrence Gast from KS on April 24, 2021

The Fishman amp has increased my desire to play more guitar. The echoes and other sounds are fun to dial in and create an awesome guitar practice. I had no idea what difference an amp can make to one's practice. Getting an amp like this heightens your skill level and awareness of what a fine amp Fishman can produce. Thanks Sweetwater for recommending this amp. I'm really having fun with it!

Fell in love immediately!

By Ivan Rivera on December 25, 2020 Music Background: Singer/songwriter

I got this this piece of equipment for christmas (although not through Sweetwater) because it was highly recommended by a friend. I have two guitars and both have fishman preamp. It was love at first sound. I haven't tested how loud it is because My neighbors were sleeping at the moment but for what I could tell with the minimal volume I used, it can be enough for small to medium-sized gigs. The sound is unbelievably natural. Highly recommend.

Awesome beastie

By Fred Story from IN on August 7, 2020 Music Background: Long time player. Former Pro.

I traded up from a Fender Acoustasonic 40 that wasn't quite doing it for me. The New Years package special seemed like the time. This is working well. I hosted an open mic, and it had the power to keep up with the rockers who showed up. I especially love the anti-feedback notch feature. I usually use it in a cafe setting with 3-5 pieces. Drums, guitars and bass. I've used it as a mini PA for vocal, for solo guitar, for guitar and vocal, duo guitars, and guitar and fiddle, and solo fiddle. It has handled it all very well. The fiddle player's trying to talk me out of it now. Nope. Mine. When he's working with me, I'll let him plug in. After all, he's an old friend.

Best acoustic amo

The do everything, gig-able, small PA!

By Kevin from Vermont on March 1, 2020 Music Background: Live sound, singer/songwriter, recording engineering, artist management, production, mastering, multi-instrumentalist

I'm typically in the camp of understanding that there are compromises anytime acoustic instruments are amplified; but, my oh my. I was blown away by the power and sound that came out of a fellow-musician's Loudbox Mini, that when the time came to look into acoustic amps, the Loudbox series was the first place I started. I like to sculpt my own sound, and wanted an amplifier that lived up to its name, and simply amplify the original source in the most clear way possible. This is the ticket. Close your eyes and think about a PA system. What comes to mind? Forget about that for another three minutes while you continue reading.

The versatility of individual channel and post gain line outs have made this little thing a more-than suitable monitor in a home studio AND on a festival stage (line out to DI, into the board). The ability to accept XLR or 1/4" inputs on either channel make this thing a one stop shop for my acoustic guitars, ukuleles, vocals...and heck, a cheap Behringer bass driver pedal gives me the color I seek to make this guy a more than acceptable acoustic bass amp (in a small room with hand percussion, vocals, two other guitars).

Oh, and if you outgrow it's power in your preferred venue, but still don't have a house system with an engineer on hand, picking up a small powered stand mountable monitor run from a line out will make you the life of the block party (but don't be surprised if you find you have overpowered your room with that configuration).

Another little feature that proves Fishman was thinking ahead is the pad buttons on each channel that provide a 10db cut. I actually use the Artist (on its own) at the weekly open mic I run in a tap room. The Artist is fed by a small mixer, mono-out direct into one of the channels. The Pad switch helps to compensate for the pre-gain that I have running into the channel. I've run two acoustics, two vocal mics, AND an acoustic bass through this thing with major room to spare (master was no higher than 12o'clock...small, 25-40 person room)! I can now WALK to the gig every week. I should mention that a friend of mine has the Loudbox mini, which was suitable for the same room that I run the open mics in for amplified ukulele and vocal. Hot air balloon festival? (that's a thing some places) farmer's market? No problem. Ask your Sweetwater representative about a bundle package ;-) Oh yeah, who's to forget the very effective, tweak-able, feedback reduction? Incredible.

When I color my electric guitars with a Tech 21 "sans amp" pedal...well, let's just say I have all the tone control I need to have plenty of electrified fun. I've been asked more than once if there are tubes in my entirely solid state get up. (nothing can quite replace those though...right?)

I've been running this thing for 3 years now. My model does not have bluetooth. I'm sure that's not a negative addition. If esthetics are important to you, you might be disappointed by how easily the cabinet blemishes from bumps and scrapes. I think they make a cover. Sweetwater will probably be willing to include a free sticker, though, to compensate for it's first scratch.
Keep making music!

(I have no affiliation with the products that I've mentioned in this review)

Great sounding and versatile amplifier

By Eric Joppru from OH on February 15, 2020

With this unit I can plug in my acoustic guitar and a microphone. I can also use this unit for a two microphone set-up (even condenser mics). All options sound wonderful and provide enough rich sound to fill a small room. The bluetooth capability is a great as well, allowing for Karaoke parties when I'm not dreaming of singer-songwriter heaven. Thanks for the great selection options, pricing, and experienced friendly staff, Sweetwater - this one is a keeper.

Fisherman loudbox artist

By Tom norton Norton from CO on January 20, 2020 Music Background: Pro 50 years ago

I have been using a fishman loudbox mini for about a year. Got this, and the Taylor guitar, from Sweetwater. I always thought the sound was true and satisfying. But my wife hasstarted working with us on three part harmony songs, and we needed an amp for her mic. So I replaced the mini with the artist, and reassigned the mini to her. Expectation was that I would just get the same sound with a little more volume. But that understates the thing. At low volume, the artist has more punch and more presence. And as we experimented we noticed it will become really really loud. As in painful. Is a nice piece of equipment.

Great for acoustic ,electric, and vocals

By Wilks on December 3, 2019

I bought this amp to play and sing at a local restaurant. I wanted something that was simple so I wouldn't have to get a PA and a mixer. I bought this amp without ever playing through it, and it is incredible. The amp has many effects and settings that make it fun to mess around with. Acoustic guitar pickups sound amazing through it. My MIM strat sounds amazing though it too, and the amp can handle a long pedal chain. My mic also sounds great through it, and you can put effects on your voice which is really cool. Great amp for small to medium venues such as restaurants, church, or outdoor shows. Absolutely love the amp, and the people who helped me choose it. Plus it comes with a $60 gift card.

Great amp

By Larry Alexander from Southern Indiana on September 17, 2019 Music Background: Church worship leader

I used the amplifier at a meeting and training function that lasted the entire weekend and was very impressed with the sound quality and projection. I used both channels, for acoustic guitar and an audio technica mic that required phantom power. All functions of the amplifier worked flawlessly. The only issue or feature I would like to see different would be the ability to use reverb and the delay functions simultaneously. That would not keep me from purchasing again however.

Fishman Loudbox Artist

By Jim Maidlow from North Fort Myers, Florida on August 22, 2019 Music Background: Pro-guitarist, mostly acoustic

I got to try this amp at Sweetwater against the Bose S1. Both of them blew me away for different reasons. The Fishman Artist just fit my needs as a guitarist playing in a small acoustic combo and in a duo with a singer. When I received it and tried it out at home I couldn't quit playing through it! My first gig with it was a couple of days ago and everyone I play with and a lot of the audience commented about how great I sounded......I love hearing that! This amp is worth every penny I paid. As a bonus, the blue tooth feature allowed me to play music at our breaks from my phone. The effects on this amp are great and that allowed me to go straight into the amp without using a separate pre-amp/effects processor. It made it very simple to get a great sound and I'm looking forward to using it from now on!

Everything that I had hoped for.

By Greg from Pittsburgh on April 12, 2022 Music Background: Acoustic Guitarist

I had actually played through a friend's Loudbox Artist previously, and I liked it so much that I bought my own. My Taylor 714 CE sounds great through it, as well as the vocals. My only criticism would be that I would like each channel to have its own level adjustment, just like a true mixer. I have to use the gain to accomplish that, and that is not really what gain is for. But the tone is awesome, and I love the Bluetooth feature. It's nice and light, sounds great, looks clean and professional, and is ideal for a small room. Highly recommended.

Might very well be the best mid-level acoustic combo amp on the market today...

Skip the cheaper (and apparently lacking) Mini version, THIS is the one you need if you're truly seeking a more "definitive" Loudbox experience as far as acoustic combo amps go and from a strictly price/value standpoint I DARE anyone on here to find better! Enough wattage for even medium-sized venues, Bluetooth capability, phantom power for condenser mics (quite rare to find in this price range O_O), fully-loaded EQ band settings for BOTH instrument/mic channels, anti-feedback control, various built-in "pedal" effects at one's disposal, footswitch option, headphone jack for private use, heck you can even use this baby as a mini PA system if need be (3 DI outs for good measure: 1 mix, 2 pre-EQ)! Only thing that kept me from giving it a genuine 5-star rating is that it lacks a USB port, that's all. Otherwise, this is about as complete a "starter" acoustic combo amp as it gets in today's market and for the current price it's listed at I can't see any other brand being able to match Fishman in that category whatsoever. HIGHLY recommend getting the songwriter bundle pack off Sweetwater along with the appropriate amp cover to get the most bang for your buck here!

Loudbox artist

Love fishman products . Sweetwater is great , sales rep is great , ( Wayne Wildman ) . The fist amp I got , the tweeter went after 1 1/2 hrs . ! Now I lost my confidence in fishman . But Sweetwater took care of me immediately . Sent a new one right away without me even having to send the faulty one back right away . So time will tell with the amp .!

Loudbox

By Geoff from Virginia on November 16, 2022 Music Background: 50+ years playing and singing in public. Not a profession, but very experienced. I play Guilds, Gibsons, Taylors, Breedloves, and Collings through this amp.

I can say nothing negative about this amps performance, the sound, the features, ease of use are all outstanding. My only complaint is the outer cover material, whatever it is, peels way too easily. The amp, after only a few uses out gigging (and I'm pretty gentle with my gear) started looking ragged. I've seen similar comments in other reviews. It won't entice me to look for a replacement; the bang for the buck is too good! But I do hope the folks at Fishman address that small flay

Great acoustic amp ... but terrible, fragile, flimsy brown covering !

By Judson from Apex, NC on January 10, 2022

I've played through my Fishman Loudbox Artist every weekend for several years and it does a great job amplifying my voice and my acoustic guitar. I actually moved up from the Loudbox Mini to the Artist for the versatility and greater volume. I love the amps themselves. My one complaint ... and it's a serious one ... is the absolutely awful material that Fishman has used to cover these otherwise great amps. Both my Mini and my Artist model are covered in what can best be described as thin brown tissue paper. It's absolutely that fragile! Hopefully by now Fishman has heard this enough and they've come up with a better covering material. I won't buy another Fishman amp unless it improves.

Great sounding Amplifier.

First, I will say that I am not writing this review with the amp freshly unpacked and newly tested. No no, I've been gigging with my Loudbox for a few years. It's probably seen 250 gigs plus a few thousand practice sessions. I cannot add much to what has already been said in the previous reviews except that my Loudbox has been 100% dependable. It has never let me down. I am a singer and play acoustic guitar in bands and as a solo performer. As a solo performer for small to medium venues, it's all I need. For larger venues or where the band is running their own sound, I use it as a D.I. and monitor for my guitar and vocals running the post-EQ out to the mixer. I've gotten accustomed to the predictable sound I can dial in on the Loudbox. I'd give it 5 stars but the cabinet is really sissy, everything from the plastic corners to the crappy vinyl that Fishman uses. The cabinet seems solid structurally but the covering is not at all durable. It's weird. Every time you grab the handle, if a fingernail barely touches the vinyl it leaves anything from a permanent mark to a small tear in the material. It's strangely that fragile. Equally wimpy is the vinyl on the sides and elsewhere. Just touch it against anything and it leaves a permanent mark of tear. I tend to be very careful with my equipment but after a few years, this Fishman amp looks downright ratty. Why Fishman chose such poor quality vinyl is a mystery. I have 60+ year old vintage tube amps that look better. I love this Fishman amp but always wonder why they used such a delicate vinyl material.

Works great for our small acoustic group of two jacanas and one large jarocho harp, and great vocal reproduction too.

3rd one

By Bill Nourse on April 28, 2024

I just received my 3rd one under warranty, and it is bad also. Terrible hum and buzz when turned up, even when not plugged into anything.
