Waves made a pretty poor choice to cancel iLok support. Every other software product I own a license for makes it easy to reinstall software and use it on other computers, either by using an iLok or by reinstalling it on any computer. If your hard drive dies, Waves support offers you very little help in moving your licenses over to your new hard drive. For the price you pay for these plug ins, it's a waste of money if you can't use them because they are licensed on a dead hard drive, plus I carry an iLok with me and Waves just complicates things by offering USB drive support (wtf is that?!? what a joke!!) rather than iLok support. I have about 200 other plug ins licensed to my iLok, I'll use those from now on.

I would recommend Sugarbytes, iZotope, even Native Instruments and especially hardware effects and processing over these dated plugins and much overrated products by Waves. This stuff is for the suckers.

Since the early days of DAW software, Waves has been a dominating force in music and audio production. For those of us here at Sweetwater who've been recording since the industry switched over to computer-based studios, it's impossible to imagine sessions without L series Ultramaximizers, MaxxBass, and other staples. Since then, we've been impressed every time Waves has brought top producers such as Jack Joseph Puig and Chris Lord-Alge to Sweetwater to show off their next cutting-edge creations, and Waves is constantly adding new and innovative plug-ins to their catalog. And with cool new gear such as their SoundGrid series, Sweetwater engineers have discovered just how easy it is to use Waves plug-ins live.
