Yes!
I've had mine for close to a year now and it's the best LP ive ever owned and I've owned a ton! Beautiful book-matched maple cap, I mean amazing. The custom buckers are top shelf. It's a perfect score here. I'm just blown away every time I pick it up.
Gibson Les Paul ‘59 Reissue
This guitar checks all the boxes. Gorgeous to looks and sounds even better.
Sustain for days! There's nothing like a Les Paul. Gibson hit it out of the park
with this one. Build quality is impeccable. The picture doesn't do it justice.
The maple top is beautiful. Best neck I've ever held. Playability is awesome.
Work of art
Worth every penny. I have had the pleasure of playing a real 59 decades ago. And this is as close as you can get without taking a second mortgage It sounds and plays amazingly
Just like the old one...
Backstory: I had a late-50s sunburst Les Paul, bought used, from the mid 1960s until I sold it in the early 1970s. (I know, I know.) It was a great-sounding guitar. I never had anything else that was quite the same.
This is the Gibson Custom Shop's best effort at making that same guitar, with no compromises or "improvements." And... they nailed it.
It's hard to do an A/B comparison fifty years apart, but this new "unimproved" Les Paul sounds just like I remember the old one sounding, even in the rosy glow of memory. It has that clear, lyrical chiming tone, that can show its teeth and bite when you bear down just a little.
It also feels just like the old one, with the medium flavor of the various necks that were around in those years, and the solid weight but nice balance. I was a little concerned buying any guitar on-line without playing it but decided to take the chance, and in this case, it worked. I was pleased to find that it does NOT have any of the little fit-and-finish problems I've seen on newer Les Pauls in stores: all of the details are just like they should be.
Bottom line: I have my old friend back.
