This Dirty, Funky Crash Will Elevate Your Drumming

The Zildjian K Custom Special Dry Crash cymbal is chock-full of raw, earthy sounds. Infuse your drumming with dirty, funky overtones. This responsive crash is extra thin to thin in weight, and with a fast attack and decay.

Great performance for contemporary styles

The K Custom Series is where the Zildjian Sound Lab went into innovation overdrive. K Customs arm you with a collection of modern K voices like no other. In this range you'll find sounds that set the standard for modern cymbal design. Whether it's the warm shimmering tones of a ride cymbal, or the complex sizzle of a pair of hi-hats, K Custom cymbals all create a uniquely beautiful sound. K Customs enable drummers to vary their K sounds to meet the demands of contemporary music.

Cast bronze cymbals for premium tone and projection

K Customs, like all Zildjian cast bronze cymbals, are individually poured and cast from raw molten metal. Each casting is cooled and sorted by weight for each cymbal model. Castings are then put through a complex sequence of heating, rolling, shaping, hammering, and lathing techniques unique to each cymbal range. Cast bronze cymbals have a rich, full-bodied sound that improves with age. They also have greater projection, clarity, and durability than any other cymbals. Zildjian cast cymbals are made from Zildjian's secret alloy, which is comprised of 80% copper, 20% tin, and traces of silver.

Serious drummers rely on Zildjian

With Zildjian cymbals, you're in good company. It's the sound powering the top end of countless hit records, the shimmering sheen on the kits of the rhythm-keeping elite. From Steve Gadd and Dennis Chambers to Dave Grohl and Lars Ulrich (and quite a few of us here at Sweetwater), top drummers rely on Zildjian. You can too.

Zildjian 20" K Custom Special Dry Crash Cymbal Features:

Reviews

So unnique
I was looking for something big and dry. This is it. Such a cool-sounding crash. You can even play it as a ride, and the bell is killer. I play it in my Texas Country/Blues band.
Fast & Dirty
This cymbal is so dry it's almost trashy, and the sustain is crazy short even when you really lay into it. Yet, it is incredibly expressive and responsive to dynamic playing. The versatility is amazing. It sits incredibly well in a live stage mix. I've used it as a ride with a pair of hot rods in acoustic jam settings and that sounds awesome too - really nice bell. This is all not to mention that it makes your kit look pretty. I'm very pleased.

Ask any drummer at Sweetwater, and chances are, we'll tell you that Zildjian represents the gold - or rather bronze - standard in cymbal making. Seriously, Avedis Zildjian may have been trying to make gold, but he did even better when he formulated what's arguably the best cymbal material on the planet. We've played virtually every type of Zildjian cymbal out there, and you won't find anyone at Sweetwater who wouldn't happily recommend their instruments to you, plus their sticks and other accessories are also pretty sweet. Whether you're grabbing your first S or Planet Z pack or have saved up for the A or K series cymbals you've always wanted, Sweetwater is your source for all things Zildjian.
