The Jomeek JM47a is a large diaphragm condenser mic. The standard for vocals, the large diaphragm condenser is really a jack of all trades. Used on everything from congas to pianos, large diaphragm condensers are a studio staple. And with its 10dB pad, you can even use them on toms (just make sure they're out of reach of the drummers sticks), guitar amps - and just about anything else in a pinch.
Won't shrink from loud sourcesThe capsule of the Jomeek JM47a is made using a classic "center-electrode" design with dynamic feedback at the capacitor element. Huh? Translation, please! well, this ensures that the JM47a won't exhibit low frequency "boom" or distort as readily when you're miking really loud sources.
Classic designThe Jomeek JM47a sports a FET preamp circuit combined with a transformer-balanced output. This arrangement is strongly reminiscent of a certain German company's 1970s solid-state incarnation of one of their classic tube models. The basic concept employed the principle that a charged capacitor changes the voltage across its plates when one of the plates is moved with respect to the other. If you eyes have glazed over, we apologize! Bottom line: the JM47a is an absurdly affordable embodiment of a classic design; it might well be foolhardy to pass it up.
