I was worried about the price...but as i look around...i listened to the preamps at a local music store on my vocals...wow!. the guys were really nice and spent some time educating me about the box. ... read more [+]the pantheon sounds a notch above my other plugin reverbs and the construction is something my wife doesn't mind sitting at our desk in the living room. probably won't use spdif...but the midi is nice close [-]

I like this unit a lot. I purchased it to record my rock band. Which is was difficult because I was under the delusion that I needed 8 channels for drum mics. Trent Thompson (Sweet Water super c... read more [+]ool sales rep!) explained to me that I only need 4 mics. Kick, Snare, and overheads. So I tried it. I have consistently since that point have gotten superior recording with an open room sound, then all of the local studios in the area. Which is cool because most my recording sounds like the band is in the room with you. It gives it a small club lounge feel. That and most of the local studios are into hip hop, r&b, and rap. They don't know much about Bands.November 11, 2010 Music Background: Teacher, Recording Hobbyist Stupid Happy! I use it to record my band, indie groups, solo artist, every now and then local churches will have me record the message of that day. The unit stays quite and clear. There is noise from the pres that is evident once the channel volumes get past 3 o'clock. Other then that, it's super quiet. I had no issues on the install. Just followed what the video on lexicon site said to do. My beef! Lexicon does not provide a case for this unit. I'm tired of carrying around the box it came in. I even emailed them about the lack of case for this unit. Out side of that, this consistently blown me away! Thanks Lexicon, and thanks Trent! close [-] Solid

I recently upgraded my home studio computer from an old AMD single core running 32-bit XP to a brand new quad-core with Win7 x64. Upon learning that there were no 64-bit drivers for my old 1st genera... read more [+]tion M-box it was off to the races looking for a new interface.August 9, 2010 Music Background: I ordered the I-Onix having never laid my hands on one based purely off of the spec sheet, photos and positive reviews on various message boards. Wow! This thing stomps all over my old M-box in every category. The pres sound better, the construction is just more solid overall and having the big huge output knob on the desk right in front of me to control monitor volume is something I can't believe I ever lived without. My only gripe is that the CD in the package didn't include the 64-bit drivers. It took all of a minute to find and download them on Lexicon's website, but in this day and age if you're going to ship a driver CD, the 64-bit stuff should really be on there. Since then however, no complaints at all! close [-] Perfect for small project setups!

I used to have the Omega, but needed to expand simultaneous inputs to record a multi mic'd guitar cab. After setting the unit up and doing some quick recordings of the guitar cab, I instantly notice... read more [+]d a difference in the pre's compared to the Omega. March 26, 2011 Music Background: Recording Engineer, Live Sound Engineer, Musician, DIY Musical Electronics. The Pros: Great control surface, easy navigation. Good sounding DBX Hi-Volt Pre's Accurate LED level indicators 2 Headphone Outputs Oversized Output knob. I didnt think this would be so awesome! Rugged design. It feels "beefy" and sturdy The Cons: Inputs are a bit cumbersome to get to, but considering the design, there is no other way to do it without it getting in the way. The pre's do not execute alot of gain stage from 0 to about 3/4s of a turn of the pot and when the signal starts to get hot, its hard to dial in that "sweet spot", although, with that said, it is almost mandatory to run the mics through an outboard pre-amp. This not only will make the recordings sound that much better, but it also makes up for the lack of gain on these pre's There is no individual "mute" button for each channel. When im micing a guitar cab with 2-3 mic's and I'm trying to dial in a sound of each mic and it's placement to the speaker, I want to hear each one indiviualy. I find that I have to set the U42S input gain up just enough to hear it, then when I got the sound I want, backing the gain off and moving to the next mic. Not terribly hard, just more steps then I'd like. Phantom Power is for 2 channels at a time and not individual for all 4. This can be a concern if using phantom power sensitive mic's. close [-] Nice - But I didn't keep it
