Turbosound iP3000 and iP2000

By Josh S. from Florida on January 24, 2023 Music Background: DJ

The iP3000s are some of the best speakers I have ever owned. The sound frequencies are amazing and the bass is extremely deep. I have done a few DJ gigs with the 3000,s and had to turn the down since they are so loud but the sound is extremely clear and detailed.

The ip2000s are amazing as well, I used these for smaller venues and they still deliver great sound. The iP3000s can be overkill for smaller venues but the iP2000s are just as amazing. The price scares people away but they are worth every penny. I have gotten booked on other gigs because of how great these speakers look and sound, and I always get compliments from other DJs and musicians.

Overall, these are a solid 5-star rating. I have not had any issues and these speakers are very reliable. This is an investment that will pay for itself after a few gigs.

Great Sound

By Randy Lindsey from Idaho on December 20, 2022

Love this PA system. Bought two for a church sanctuary. It fills the sanctuary with a rich sound. Highly recommend this system.

Ip 3000's are a home run

By Farrell Woods from Denver, CO on September 9, 2022 Music Background: Dj for 20 years. I've done over 500 weddings personally and I dance competitively in west coast swing.

I use these for my bigger events. I added a video of a dance I did in an airplane hanger that still had 5 airplanes in it during the dance (BIG hanger!). The sound filled the room and was clear. I didn't have it turned up all the way and it was plenty loud for the crowd I was playing to. I love these for the accurate sound, quick set up and smaller footprint than a speaker stand. Highly reccomend.

IP 3000 Great speakers

By Farrell Woods from Denver, CO on September 9, 2022

I bought these Ip 3000's around 4 years ago. I have the smaller Ip2000's for my average wedding and dance that I run every week. I've never had a problem. This was in an airplane hanger with 5 airplanes still in it (huge hanger). The music was clear and balanced even at a distance from them. I love the quick set up and small foot print. Watch the video I uploaded.

Only way to go

By Sweetwater Customer from Montana on September 11, 2019

These are the only way to go. Quick and easy set up. Using two iP3000 the whole band, four piece band sometimes five piece, can hear every thing and every one. Our harmonies have improved greatly using these speakers, we have noticed it and our fans have commented on how good our harmonies are now. We use these for all of our gigs inside and outside. Outside for large events we find we have great coverage. Sound is full great bass response highs are clear. Would recommend the iP3000 over the iP2000. Have used both and the iP3000 just have more punch as they should, 2000w verses 1000.

Great Unit

By Tyler on October 1, 2018 Music Background: Wedding/Event DJ

Great speaker. I've been using two of these for six months now and could not be happier. I've DJ'd two weddings with only one speaker in mono and it's plenty of sound. You will not regret this purchase. Keep the boxes to transport the tower, buy the cover for the sub. The sub is heavy. It's manageable with one person but two makes it much easier. If you're reading this review, you're just a couple clicks away from buying the right speaker.

Solid unit

By Sweetwater Customer on August 21, 2018

Sounds great. Well built. Clear, tight bass response. The woofer unit is heavy and best handled by two peeps. I saved the box for the tower units for transport to and from gigs (great idea).

IP3000 is the best in its class

By Pete Ferrell from Charleston WV on May 31, 2018 Music Background: 30 years touring concert production major artists

I sold my BOSE second generation array and purchased four of the Turbo IP3000. I put them on four corners of the dance floor. Just flat out unreal tone and power on the dance floor. Buy the skate board for easy transport, i purchased after market slip over moving quilt covers by Connies Covers and the subs roll right off the truck, all top sections fit into one trunk fly case. Easy to move system with incredible power and best of all, these things are smoooooooooooth tone.

Great.

By DJMDN007 from USA on May 13, 2018 Music Background: Sound tech, light tech, DJ

I am not one to leave reviews for gear.

I purchased two of these units.

Let me say this you can easily get away with using only one of these for play back / dancing crowds of 200. First gig out with them I opted to use one and it was for a crowd of 150 people.

The next week I had a gig with 350 people in a large room. I used both units the room sounds fuller with 2 units. They did the job with ease once you have all your gain structures in line these towers scream. I have yet to truly push them to their limits which I always had to do with the Bose L1s I own.

I have now used these units for quite a few events at least 15 gigs with 150 - 350 people. They are my go to sound rig for 80% of the events I do.

Sometimes I need a more focused sound with drop off so I will use some EVs on sticks. But I am considering going to the IQ series of turbo sound and phasing out EV products all together.

Coming from 2 bose L1s with a total of 4 B1s attached I always felt the bose lacked greatly when it came to low ebd and it really started to sound tinny and muddy as you pushed them during a dance set. Always leaving me wishing they had more to give.

The Bose system has been phased out for me. They maybe phased out company wide if these ip3000s can take a year of my abuse. I am not the kindest of souls on my gear transporting them, or pushing gear to its limits. If a piece of gear is going to fail it usually will fail in my hands prior to a staff members.

Being able to wirelessly master and slave these is pretty cool as well. Love the ios control via cell phone. It always me to monitor the signals going into the unit and adjust bass treble and so on on the fly.

The quirks: Though when in master and slave mode and paired with your IOS dont walk out of range with your phone. It will unpair the two units and your ipad or phone.

App only works with apple at this time sadly. Though I messed up when upgrading the firmware on one device. Ironically it would not recognize the apple and I had to use an andriod device to finish the job. How weird is that?

I was rather disappointed with the manual that came with these. Its like they were written by someone whom english is not a native language and lacked a full discription of all functions and piss poor for trouble shooting.

An event I did this friday. All I was getting was the lows from the subs on one unit, did a visual inspection looked good. So I swapped out the xlr cables. Still same problem. Then I decided to take the tower apart and put the two pieces back into the sub. Wam I has highs and mids again. I am not sure why this happened. But it did. If I have this issue again I will update.

I am not a brand loyal person when it comes to speakers. I evaluate my speaker needs every 3 - 5 yrs. After having the bose for many of years it was time to evaluate the column arry rig. The IP3000 was the winner to my ears. Fully ready to pay HK or Bose $$ a better product for my needs and a better $ tag. For the $ hands down nothing in its size class or with expandable options like the bose... nothing comes close...

Proper design

By Sweetwater Customer on April 19, 2018

I purchased a pair of these after listening to demos of others even more expensive designs and they are absolutely excellent and number one when it comes to this type of design .Clarity , Power , Range ,and low end without any blurred harshness I witnessed from others . Genius design as per each woofer produces a different frequency from the graph.
We compared these with the more expensive brands outdoors in pairs and more than 200ft these can be heard as well as the lows loud and clear . Just ran out of parking lot to keep walking backwards but I"m sure these would cover more . It produces wide and long range coverage with powerful punch from the subs the further you go . As from close range ,You would need one at low volume is what we learned in a bar gig with 200 in attendance at 1/2 way with eq flat-and subs at 50% using Bluetooth and a mic .

Impressive

By Keal Franklin from Tallahassee, Florida on March 14, 2018 Music Background: Singer/Songwriter/ Guitarist/ Producer

I got this unit yesterday. I"ve not played out with it yet but I can tell already that it is a beast. Let me just say, I don"t think I"ll have to worry about the crowd being too loud anymore. No more monitors, speaker stands, speaker wires and getting up from my seat to adjust the sound. The iPad app works flawlessly so you can adjust from anywhere in the room. Its not small and it"s not light but for what it replaces, it"s a godsend!

You gonna did Dis

By Tuffy Warner from Purcellville, Va. on February 6, 2018 Music Background: Dj for over 31 years, bass player for 8 years

Hello everyone, as a DJ of 30 years, I got out of the business for various reasons. Absent from the business for 7 years, I tried to sell my equipment and records and CD's and I still have app. 800 45's. No luck, anyway, I stopped by this new facility that was having a wedding reception and when I walked in the building, I heard all this great sound from the DJ, I looked up and around the room looking for the bass bins or something. Where was this sound coming from. When I approached the DJ, he was using a sound system similar to the turbosound, but from a different manufacturer. This was my first experience hearing a column loudspeaker. Wow, I said I got to get me one of these. Well Now I have two of the Turbosound IP 2000's, I've done two events with this sound system and I haven't been able to crank my system any where near it's capability, due to the high quality of this system. I very impressed and pleased with my iP 2000 system, I could only imagine how the IP 3000 sounds like. I'm thinging of adding a powered sub, but the single 12" woofers for now seem to provide all the bass I need. From my old system, I have two bass bin cabinets with dual 18" woofers that I normall run 3000 watts thru, I could use these for additional bass running the signal off of the turbosound cabinets. Regardless, I would highly recommend any of the turbosound column loudspeaker systems. And for the price, you can't go wrong.

What a system! And customer service too!

By Pedro from Tucson on January 8, 2018 Music Background: acoustic rock folk reggae

Don't hesitate to purchase this system from Sweetwater. The power and clarity of this rig is second to none. Right now they don't have an app for Android yet, but it should be a matter of time according to different sources online. It is really easy to setup and start using it (less than 3 minutes to put the columns together, plug and play. I also got the protective bags to make sure the equipment stays scratch free. I am a solo musician (acoustic guitar and voice), and this will blow my audience away. You have power to spare! For the price, it does not compare to any other system like Bose or JBL. Plus, you have 2 year extended warranty from Sweetwater and tech support for life

Wow, wow, wow. Just wow

By Malik from Salt Lake City on January 5, 2018

Turbosound just did it again with the IP3000. I had the IP1000 and it was the first time I wrote a review about a gadget I bought. I was so impressed I could not resist to write the review. At the time, it was the introductory price and was cheap compared to the Bose compact I was thinking to get. When I saw the announced IP3000 with the actual introductory price, I plunged to take advantage before the MSRP kicks in :-).
I placed my pre-order and was surprised that it was shipped the next day. Kudo to Brian, my sale rep.
Now, about the IP3000. OMG, this thing is heavy. I mean, it is very heavy. But it was expected.
The sound is just incredible. I won't even wast your time to write about it. Just get one and experience the power :-)

Thanks Turbosound for this marvelous product with this affordable price.

Thanks again to Brian VanDeKeere.

TheseIP300 Review

By Robert H. Sampson from Jacksonville, Illinois on January 5, 2018 Music Background: Recording Engineer, Guitarist, Drummer, Saxophonist, Bassist, Organist, Keyboardist, Sound Engineer, Music Producer

I am proud to be the first person to do a review on this product. For those of you using the Turbosound IP series of tower array systems, the IP3000 will be quite familiar. The features include.

• (16) 3.5" midrange drivers
• (2) 1" high frequency compression drivers
• (1) 2x12 subwoofer enclosure
• integrated DSP technology
• integrated Bluetooth connectivity
• Dual inputs (A/B) with line a line out for each channel
• 2000 watts of clean Class D amplification

Midrange Drivers: This bad boy sports (16) 3.5" drivers for the midrange. Th ry have a very smooth and balanced output while being able to reach loud volumes, won't take your head of even at elevated volumes.

High Frequency Compression Drivers: The IP3000 also houses 2 high frequency compression drivers in the very top portion of the tower. Unlike the other tower arrays Turbosound has, these drivers seem to handle better highs at increased volumes. Having the pair of drivers in my opinion was a great idea. It gives the IP3000 a more rounded and full sound.

Subwoofers: In the lower portion or base of the IP3000 are the subs. Housed in this enclosure are two specially designed 12" subs. I was not disappointed at the total overall bass output. The bass response is incredible.

DSP Technology: To protect and process the incoming signal, the IP3000 utilizes DSP (Digital Signal Processing). This helps prevent clipping of the amp, optimal signal processing for mics, music playback, and instruments, and overall optimization of output performance.

Onboard Bluetooth Connectivity: This feature is what sets the IP series of tower arrays apart from all others. You can use the Bluetooth on the IP3000 for two purposes. You can use it to wirelessly control EQ, channel levels, DSP, and sub volume. You can also use the Bluetooth function to stream music from your iPad, iPod, or iPhone.

EQ: This is something I must address. The previous models of the IP series of tower arrays have utilized what is known as a global equalizer. This means that the EQ effects the overall signal. You have no individual channel EQ, just EQ that effects the overall inputs. Turbosound has addressed this issue on the IP3000. You now have a graphic EQ for each channel and a global EQ. To sweeten the deal, they have added reverb to each channel. All these features are accessible through the Turbosound app.

Inputs and Outputs: The IP3000 has two inputs. There is input A and input B. These inputs are combo XLR (mic) and 1/4 inch (instrument) jacks. Each channel has it's own dedicated XLR output to link to either front-of-house sound or external added powered speakers.

Power: This system houses a 2000 watt Class D power amplifier. There's enough power in this unit to pretty much play almost any venue.

Conclusion: All the PA systems I have used over the years, this is one of the best sounding for what it is. In my opinion, this trumps the Bose. I own two IP2000 column arrays and now an IP3000. These IP systems are absolutely great for people who are looking for something portable yet powerful. You will not be disappointed if you purchase any one of these Turbosound IP series tower array systems.

The column speaker that actually works after trying some others.

By Jose from NJ on November 30, 2021 Music Background: Latin music band leader for over 20 years.

`I have what is usually a 4 to 5-piece Latin music band. I've tried the Bose L1 and the newer Yamaha Stagepas1K, both of which I still own. I use midi sequences to support the band. Both of the other systems drown the vocals, and even the music. I suppose it's the limitters. The IP3000 sounds loud, clear, and full. I use a yamaha DSR12 on the floor as monitor because, close up, this system is not as in your face as a floor monitor. I've been using only one system, but two would really be ideal. Absolutely no drop in sound when performing as the other systems do. However, nothing is perfect, and this is no exception. Another review here mentioned how one time he set up, and there was no sound. He took it apart, set it up again, and the sound came back. I just had that issue at a show this past Saturday, except not even the sub was working. I took it apart, put it together again, and it started working. That is really bad though because it's unpredictible. The other unpredictible prolem is that, at some shows, the sound goes out for about half a second, and comes right back. I believe I have that problem solved by using a Furman power conditioner. I think the IP3000 wants a really clean power source to work properly. Nevertheless, if you've tried column speakers and don't find them to give you the punch point source speakers give you, this is the system to try. Full, clear, punchy sound, and a great coverage from side to side. Great lows, mids and highs. The tweeters really add to the completeness of the sound. I just used a Yamaha DXR12 on a stick on top of a Yamaha DXS12 for a band rehearsal, and it sounded punchy, but empty because it doesn't have the coverage with only one set like the IP3000 does. I only wish the IP3000 didn't have the unpredictable technical problems mentioned here and in another review here also. Hopefully, the power conditioner is the solution, but the recent system not working at first issue occurred using the power conditioner. Even with all that, I am going to get another unit to use two. So, I still recommend it because it's the only column speaker of the ones I've tried that actually works for a live band. It feels like what it is: a solid, professional, full sounding system. Like other column speakers, set up is fast, easy and clean; just attach the two column pieces to the sub, and your done.

Crystal Clear

By Dane from Virgiia on August 29, 2018 Music Background: Vocalist / Guitarist / Sound

Been wanting to try these for a while... Just got them - Running two iP3000s as Front of House PA for a 5 piece band with a very hard hitting drummer (Rock Sound) - using for medium sized rooms, capacity approximately 100 - 150 +/-... These speakers have great clarity, reach, and coverage, and minimize visual restraints... We will most likely add a little more sub, an 18" for some deeper kick drum 'feel'; however, that is probably not necessary for many folks - we just like more sub... Great sounding system - looking forward to more shows with them...

Perfect For Small to Midsize-Happy Customer!

By Eric Grant from Gilford, NH on May 21, 2018 Music Background: Full Time Musician

Ok so this review I could not find and had to take the leap of faith and just buy em! Turbo Sound send me a check later ;) Here is the deal on these. I have a larger QCS system for 2-500 seat rooms. I bought the ip2000's for small to medium rooms. No dice. Sure you can get them to work and get the job done but the 2000's are really a solo/duo to small venue setup. 25-50 maybe 75 people in a couple thousand sq feet. However add to many bodies and start trying to pump a small band in them..no go. No feel and thump in the bottom to fill the room. Mp3 or iPod in them...sure they crank and you can push them numbers and get away with it. So when they came out with the ip3000's I was pumped. Just needs a little more out of 2000's. Debated on all the other systems from QSC..Bose...Sub and a Stick setup anything...but I pulled the trigger...LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM!!! Its exactly what you need to put a mid size band in a 75-150 person room. And if your a DJ...double them numbers. I ran Bass Guit 4pc Kit Keys 4 vocs...and put it through an Air18 mixer and was in love. You can FEEL the bottom end. It moves air...and the the tops will send your highs all day long as far as you need. Crispy and clear and easy to manage. Like anything it takes a little massaging to get it the way "you" like it but totally worth every penny. Heavy?? Yup...but for the most part everyone in the band lugs em solo if need be. Id rather have the weight and know they will push the sound. The tops are also beefy...a bit wider and deeper then the 2000's. You feel like its better quality just in the weight alone. Only Bi#$% is just the horn/tweeter setup. Just like the 2000's if you sit right in front of it say 10 feet away and EQ a mix from sitting down...then stand up...night and day. Its obviously designed to throw. However with both the 2000 and 3000 your gonna be using these in rooms where people are sitting on top of em so you'd think they would direct or array the sound to hit the floor sooner. Other than thats keep your boxes in case the cases are still back ordered! lol Enjoy hope this helped someone...

IP3000

By Shane from Wannajamstudio on January 13, 2018 Music Background: Singer/songwriter

Very impressed well made, they sound great plenty of range and power. The dispersion of sound allowed me to get rid of floor monitors which is great. They also don"t feedback even when running high gain and mics right up close. My rehearsal space is very large and lots of hard tile surfaces so it"s very bright sounding to begin with and I play in a loud 5 piece original rock band we push the loudness scale. These are working just as I hoped. Thanks to Chris @ Sweetwater for the excellent customer service!

Should have been 5 stars but...

By DJ ColdPress from Az on December 11, 2021 Music Background: DJ

So I'll start by saying that the sound quality on these is outstanding. Like it's seriously impressive. Just played a 3200 ft² outdoor venue and had 2 of these setup. Way more than necessary for the space, excellent sound dispersion, ground shaking bass, and this was on a hotel rooftop with no walls, just a glass half fence around it. The sound is 5 stars all the way. I had it at about 35% power tops.
Why would I give it 4 stars you ask? Because the app and the overall UI of the entire unit is archaic to say the least. I mean the app is bad to the point where I just say don't even download it lol. They should look to the bose L1 pro series analog dial system for inspiration. But I cannot recommend this unit enough. It feels like it's got a long way to go to before it will really be able to express its full power.

I"m a solo artist using midi and a keyboard. So far it"s seems to be an excellent choice for what I"m doing.
Most of the reviews I"ve read have been from DJ"s, however recorded music is far different then what I"m doing, I"m looking for different results then what a DJ is looking for.
I would like to hear more from other artist that actually play and sing through this system.

Good while it lasted

By Jon from Henderson, NV on August 16, 2023 Music Background: Pro Production guy by day , Bass Player & Guitar Player by night

I picked up two of these for work - we ran them at most of our events for 3-4 years doing everything from talking heads to DJ's and full bands. These bad boys have plenty of lows with the 2X12" drivers and the mids and highs are great and project very well.

These speakers were my favorite 'small rig' to put on basically any show. Until one died. Music Tribe is almost impossible to reach (filled out several tickets over the years) and I now have one of these that doesn't work (shows input signal, but no sound passes out of the speakers) and one that sits idle because it is alone...

I was contemplating purchasing these for my personal rig because I really did love the sound, but went in a different direction because I've been sitting on a dead on for a year with no response from the company.

Good EQ/Preset, we usually used ours with a console though... Just wish they were a bit more durable and/or supported by their maker.

Great when they work

By Jon W from Vegas area on March 6, 2023 Music Background: 29 years playing in gigging bands - production tech (sound and lights) by trade.

Bought two of these as a hold-over upgrade for a venue and then ended up using them as the main system for years. Always with a mixer (Midas m32) and always with great results. Outside show with a full band?! 2 of these and we were never left wanting for volume.

Then one died, just kaput. Filled out a form and emailed music tribe and got zero response. Now I have one half of a god system and would love to get the other half repaired but no one is fixing these things.

Really enjoyed the sound these delivered, though. Great full lows, enough mids without being honky and clear highs that were never harsh. Only time I ever felt they were at their limit was when a promoter decided to put the audience 100 feet away from the stage for some unknown reason (they really just had no idea what they were doing) and to try to deliver the music well we ended up pushing them to the point that they sounded compressed/limited and our extra punch and headroom disappeared . But I was seriously impressed by these for the past 3 years. Just sad that support is a flat no-response from the mfg

Good and Bad

By Sweetwater Customer from San Diego on February 16, 2019 Music Background: Musician

I play in a live band and we mic our instruments. The ip3000 performs magnificently, is loud, sounds clear, and does project indoors or out. It will get rid of floor monitors and cables. It does feedback on occasion so have an EQ in your rack. In order to access some of the features, you need the app. It is heavy, the sub weighing over 90 pounds. It's too tall. I had it in the garage and the automatic garage door knocked it down and bent the alignment pins. You can forget about any reasonable customer service from Turbosound/Music Tribe. They do not answer their phones or call you back.

Hmmmmmmm

By Sweetwater Customer on April 1, 2021 Music Background: 20yr guitarist, 15yr stage performance, 15yr mixing, 3yrs reading and experimenting and learning more about mixing

I wanted to like this. I ordered it, what the heck, yolo. Unfortunately I was negatively surprised to find my speaker went out before the first gig. Great service with Tad, he sent out a quick replacement and I sent mine back. I have a three piece trio, and I LOVE a fat kick and rolling bass on the low end. Love bumping. This system could not keep up with the power demand my trio put on it. Kick, Bass, Guitar, 1 vocal full time. It seemed to me to crossover was set too low, the mids from the bassist were getting past the sub and into the column and driving those little speakers quite badly. I EQd and EQd my mix, my mic, the bassist's channel (yikes), the speaker itself and couldn't get a powerful clean punchy full sound out of it. We are an intense band, not a DJ, and it just didn't seem to be geared toward the performance factor that I needed from it. It sounded fantastic with music reproduction. The bluetooth feature is great. It will serve a fantastic purpose, but for bands that mic the kick and/or go full direct, might want to get two or more, or a standard main/sub system.

Great Sound that won't last.

By Matthew Dashem from STATE COLLEGE, PA on January 26, 2023 Music Background: Performer

I own 4 of these units. 3 of them are dead. Please learn from my mistake. One has been "repaired" under warranty. It's dead. Another is currently being "repaired" and has been gone for 3 months. There are no replacement parts to be had. One unit is relegated to low-volume home use; anything else and the sound will begin to cut out. My final unit is brand new, working fine, but it will die too. They sound awesome. They don't last.

Out Door Venue

By Sweetwater Customer from Georgia on October 14, 2018 Music Background: Audio Engineer

We do a out door venue for 3 days, one every 3 months, were they have to run not hard but at least near it's higher volume level end (and that's not constantly maybe for about 1 spurts be group time and the rest just atmosphere music playing constantly) 12 hours per day. They could not handle the even this!! First the left system went out and had to send it back, then the right went out and had to send BOTH back. It seems the engineering for the amps in the subs are terrible, their are no vents to keep it cool, nor fans to keep it cooler. Even if the are class D amps that run cooler, they still need these for out door applications were it can be hot, even if the speakers are in the shade!!
