Just plain Awesome.
First: When unpacking the pickup pay attention to the tiny slit where the screws are located. I missed it and thought they were missing. The slit packaging on mine closed up and I didn't see it. Also I have no idea what the washers and the tubes are used for with this pickup. No mention at all in the instructions as to what to do with them. If you watch the Boss video on how to install it's very basic and vague. No specifics. For example why does the mounting bracket have the hook thing on one side?
Second: if you have a thin body guitar the mounting bracket, that attaches to the body of the guitar, will not work. You'll need to add additional rubber padding to fill the gap and allow it to close. This bracket is only for thicker guitars.
Third: Once you install the pickup and play through the system it sounds fantastic. Within the online manual there is a section on how to configure the pickup. The default setting works, however... tracking for fast picking or shredding is a bit off. I'll be adjusting the pickup settings to see if it helps. For normal/semi-fast playing it works fine out of the box. Since this pickup can be adjusted from the GM-800; some experimentation is probaby needed.
Forth: There is no on/off switch on the GM-800 or the pickup module. Once you plug the power cord in...it's on. The online manual does state this and also says to install all cables first and turn the volume down to 0 before plugging in the power cord.
The interface of the GM-800 is easy to navigate. Plus the PC/Mac interface is great for easy adjustments.
All in all I'm digging it. The potential is there once you dive in deep.

Great Product with Lousy Instructions
I love this product but the manual stinks. I went to their website as per the manual and it is not the best either. I tried it on my Strat and it was a no go. I have the playing action low so it did not allow any adjustments and I was not going to mess with it. I put it on a Epiphone Lazarus Les Paul and it took 2x to get it right. As I said the instructions are lacking. I found attaching it where the guitar strap button is was a no go as the strap is difficult to attach, so I put it in the alternate location as suggested.
I love this now that it is working but not a 5 star due to the poor instructions.
