Cool guitar
This is a very unique instrument I added to my collection and I'm glad I did. Great look and feel. The V shaped neck feels great, almost reminding me of a McCarty. The switching takes a little getting used to but there is lots of tones you can dial from twangy old school country/ rockabilly to full on ac/dc rock and roll goodness. Big thanks to Julio Jimenez for helping me with this purchase.
Best Gretch ever!!
I really like George Harrison and my brother gifted me this guitar and it absolutely great through the whole time ive had it
Nicely made!
The Gretsch G6128T-59 Vintage Select is really precisely made - I can't find a flaw. Great vintage styling with aged binding & fret markers.
I have two other Gretsch guitars (6120rhh & Tennessee Rose 6118 both with TV Jones pickups). The same TV Jones Filtertron Classics in the 6120rhh, but in the chambered Duo Jet body they predictably sustain better and the mahogany body warms them slightly - which is what I was looking for this time around. It's a great rock guitar (think ACDC to Gilmour) but can also make that sweet Gretsch clean sound - very versatile. One nice surprise was how great the intonation is even with the old-school roller bridge, that is pinned - I'm using 11 flat-wounds. I see no reason to change the bridge and I'm pretty picky about intonation. It's not an inexpensive guitar, but very worth it to me, I have no regrets whatsoever.
