The proof is in the reviews
All 5-star reviews as they should be. These guitars are built really well. The neck and fingerboard are a pleasure to grab onto and play and the "Gretsch Sound" is there! This is my first Gretsch and I'm impressed. If you're looking for a great hollow-body electric at this price point, you've come to the right place with Sweetwater.
Just what I needed
Great guitar and plays as well as the $2000+ models I tried out before buying this one. You won't be disappointed
Love this guitar!
I've been looking at hollow body electric guitars for a while. I watched multiple videos on YouTube and decided that Gretsch makes on the most affordable and best sounding guitars in this style. I am blown away how awesome this guitar plays!! Very happy!!
A joy to play
A very playable and fun guitar to use. When not plugged in to an amp, it plays quietly enough for me to play it and hear it when my family is sleeping or watching TV in the same room. My only complaint is that screw fitting of the strap knob at the tailpiece is normally threaded into the knob and reverse threaded into the guitar body. I don't know if that is a standard way to install it. To tighten it up, it has to be removed and the threaded fitting needs to be twisted hard into the knob and then screwed into to the body. However, it can't be tightened very well because it wants to be screwed out of the body instead if into t0 body. I could glue the knob on its thread, but I'm not going to do that. Perhaps this is a featured that prevents to threads from striping out of the body. Thats not a problem for me because I don't use a strap. I just don't want to loose it.
Excellent guitar
I was looking for a newer hollow body guitar that really doesn't break the bank. I did get the demo version of this guitar, and it plays great. I usually play Christian, country (from classic to the 90s), and classic rock. I like the color, and the sound of the pickups. I highly recommend getting this guitar to anyone that is looking for a electric guitar.
Excellent Guitar
I was looking for a light weight guitar that didn't break the bank and had a great sound and this guitar is everything I wanted it to be! I love the color, size, weight, and most importantly the sound of the pickups. I play on my church worship team and this guitar sounds amazing with all the modern day worship songs we play. I also play Blues with a Blues Driver pedal and it sounds great adding some overdrive. The pickups do a great job at reducing feedback and humming given the hollow body. The strings are not too heavy and are great for the Blues style. Overall this is an excellent guitar and I'd recommend it to anyone!
Perfect
I have had this guitar for about 6 months now. This is really the first guitar I have ever bought that I didn't want to change something. It plays amazingly. I did have to adjust the truss a bit but the frets are perfect. The electronics are very well thought out…just perfect. Great American roots music guitar. Highly recommended.
I worked with an Epiphone flamecat for a couple years. This guitar is so superior to that, you can't even compare them.
