Give Your Orchestrations An Epic Sound!
For soaring, majestic orchestrations, nothing compares to powerful French horns. So Vienna Symphonic Library went all out to produce the Horizon Series Epic Horns collection, the largest all-horn ensemble ever created in the history of sampling. The name "Epic Horns" already implies that these horns produce broad and big sounds in the truest sense of the word. But these eight double horns are capable of far more than that. The range of expression covers a vast array from subtle atmospheres and solemn, ceremonious, and majestic performances to bombastic dashing bursts.

- Makes extensive of VSL's Performance Tools for legato phrasing and repeated notes

A key ingredient in huge Hollywood-style orchestrations
The Epic Horns are the key ingredient for achieving the sound of oversized late Romantic orchestras as well as modern Hollywood orchestras. With a double section of eight double horns, Epic Horns gives you the power to create awesome unison lines, massive chords and sweeping glissandos. No library created to date has matched this collection of mighty horns!
Makes extensive of VSL's Performance Tools
Repetitions, an often-used style in horn ensemble arrangements, sound amazingly impressive and absolutely realistic when the Epic Horns are played with VSL's Performance Tool. There's not a trace of the "machine-gun" effect you usually hear with repeated notes! The selection of legato phrases is also enhanced by the Performance Tool's ability to blend one note into another. The Epic Horns live up to the challenge of drawing the subtle, sophisticated Performance Elements from these sometimes extremely loud instruments.
Recorded in VSL's custom-built "Silent Stage"
In all VSL's years of sampling, the recording of the massive Performance Legatos of this large group of double horns was by far the longest and most arduous experience at the Silent Stage, the custom-built recording hall in which all VSL samples are produced. The Silent Stage ensures that, whether instruments are close-miked or recorded from a distance, you have total control over room ambience, reverb and delay. There's no inherent "room sound" in the samples of Epic Horns to get in the way. Recording these powerful instruments was an exceptionally intense challenge for the whole team. Once you listen, we are sure you'll agree that the effort to create Epic Horns was worthwhile.
Thousands of samples with dozens of articulations
As with all the Vienna Symphonic Library's instrument collections, Epic Horns encompasses thousands of samples. Nearly 6000 samples, occupying 3GB, ensure that you'll have every articulation and glissando you need to create truly epic orchestrations!
