Sennheiser EW 500 G$-Ci1 Wireless Guitar System
For years I have been using the Shure PGXD14 Wireless system for my bass guitar. It has been stellar and has never let me down until recently when it started acting up and dropping the signal here and there. I would've gone back to Shure for the upgraded bees knees wireless system but Kenny from Sweetwater suggested I try this system since the other was not available. It was a great suggestion. Have played quite a few gigs and haven't had the slightest hiccup from the Seinnheiser EW500. Thanks Kenny and Sweetwater!
Excellent
This is an excellent guitar wireless system all-around: great clarity, low noise, solid range, and professional sound quality. I chose the EW 500 for the 88mhz bandwidth and have no regrets. Having such a wide band of frequencies to work with gives me even greater confidence I won't have to think about interference.
I also love the sync feature on Sennheiser wireless- you just press the button and hold the transmitter infra-red up to the front of the receiver and it does the rest. It's so easy to link up. Great service from Sweetwater, as always!
Pricey, but reliable. Would've given 5 stars with a few more features that I think should be included in "top of the line" equipment.
I'm familiar with Sennheiser wireless already, so for me, setup was a breeze. Not much else to say other than it's super reliable and I haven't had a single drop out. Confident I got what I paid for.
I did use my venue's RF scanner to pick an open channel, so keep that in mind as you're choosing which band to use.
Items I would like to see included/updated:
- Pedal board form factor for the receiver
- Potentially an automatic and seamless channel switching to an open band if a particular band starts to get noisy. My venue has an RF scanner, so I can use that to find a good channel. Would be a nice feature to include for venues without a dedicated RF scanner. I guess the ultimate point is a better way to identify, and use, an open channel contained within this system for those without an RF scanner.
- Rechargeable batteries (I spent another $ for some Ansmann AA batteries and charger.)
- Transmitter pouch to mount on my guitar strap with greater versatility, more securely, and to shielded it from getting hit with stuff
- Right-angle instrument cable
Worst instructions ever!!!
Absolutely no valuable information as far as instructions on how to use it, or set it up!!! Couldn't even find anything on YouTube!!! Now as far at the unit, we'll it's worked flawlessly so far!!! I'm just praying it doesn't start to glitch because I would have no idea on how to fix it......

Instructions are not good but product works well with not much latency
Works great when you get lucky
By lucky I mean figure out how to set it up!!! The absolute worst lack of instructions ever!!! Zero help! Now the quality of the sound is awesome!!! Don't think they'll change anything.
