With Class A amplifiers, discrete transistor circuitry, and ThatCorp balanced inputs and outputs, the EQ500 gives you the sound of a vintage console's EQ section. Per-channel bypass maintains your signal's integrity if you don't need to use all four bands.

With five selectable frequencies per band, you may think the EQ500 is less flexible than some other EQs - not so. Take a listen, and you'll find the frequencies Daking chose are some of the most musical. Scoop mud out at 250Hz while adding some presence at 5kHz. Or boost some bass around 125Hz while lowering everything below 80Hz and adding some clarity around 10kHz. And each band has an "out" setting to completely remove that band from the signal path, which Daking feels is a better-sounding, more accurate solution than a center-detent pot at the unity position.
