Excellent PA Speaker

By JBK from Kentucky on November 30, 2022 Music Background: Long time player.

Sold my Katana for one of these. Running my amp modeler straight into it and couldn't be happier at the sound quality and power. The speaker and horn unlocked so many tonal attributes that just aren't there through the katana.

Plug and Play

By Electrajet on September 13, 2022

Used a pair of these as monitors for the first time on an outdoor gig. Just plugged them in and they sounded great. No need for EQ. No feedback issues. Plenty loud for all four singers on the front line. We'll see what happens on an indoor gig sometime but first impressions: stupidly simple and simply good sound. Kind of incredible, actually.

Great sound!!

If you're undecided between these or Mackie, go with these! These sound great, detailed and loud! Mackie just isn't in the same league. Can't speak to EV, but I love these.

Awesome Speaker!!!

By rdm_guitar from Allen, TX on March 11, 2022 Music Background: Home musician/hobbyist

I was originally looking for an amp that could handle double duty for a synthesizer and bass. Kudos to the outstanding service from my Sweetwater rep, Kurt Martin, for pointing me towards a Power Speaker. What a great option! The JBL EON is a beast! Great clarity, full sound (wonderful bass tones), and very easy to use. The digital display and bluetooth connectivity are both bonuses. This thing has more than ample power to handle what I was looking for. I may even use it to project vocals and guitars in live settings... I wish I had found this sooner!

Incredible value/quality/weight ratio

By Trey from Virginia on August 3, 2023

I've been running two JBL EON712 speakers for my live band for a few months now. For background, we're a 5 piece pop/classic rock cover band. I have run just these speakers on some smaller house party sort of gigs and pair them with two EV ZXA1 12" subs when outdoors or at larger venues.

First these sound great. I'd describe them as bright, clear, and transparent. By themselves, they have adequate bass for a full-range 12" speaker. Pair them with a sub if you really want chest thumping bass. Second, they are incredibly (and I mean incredibly) lightweight. I can carry one in each hand and easily put them on top of speaker stands by myself.

The menu on the back provides some really powerful features. If I were to be nit picky, I'd say the menu organization could be a little more clear. But it's not the sort of thing you'll be messing with often. Of course there's some basic voicings for pairing these with subs, DJs, speech, etc. But I think one feature that deserves attention is the ability to time delay the output. If you run side fills or other satellite speakers, this is a really wonderful option to have.

My only other critique is that the clip light seems to come on a bit earlier than I'd really like. I will say that I've seen the clip light come on many times but haven't actually heard audible clipping. Still, just be aware. These speakers really like to have a highly compressed signal sent to them.

Great sound at a great price…

By Bob from Rhode Island on August 3, 2022 Music Background: Drummer in a working band

To start these speakers have great sound, quality made. Sound is high quality and clear. The BT option is great with easy connection. lightweight and easy to move. My only complaint would be that it doesn't come with an Owners Manuel but I was able to find one online and download it fairly quickly.
Patrick Ortiz is what makes all my purchases even better. Not only is he personable and Friendly but his knowledge is what separates him from the rest. He helps me choose the best product I'm looking for, never makes me feel Stupid when I'm asking " obvious " questions. I'm confident that when I make a purchase from sweetwater I'm getting exactly what I'm looking for and Patrick goes out of his way to make sure The deal is done right! A true asset to Sweetwater and my Go to Guy for all things Music!

JBL Powered Speaker

By Sweetwater Customer on April 28, 2023

I am new to PA gear so take what I say with a grain of salt. The price was right. I don't know why they couldn't just make simple volume controls and not force you through a menu set up in addition to volume knobs though. It was not intuitive but I played around and figured it out. My voice isn't anything to brag about so tone-wise it's good enough for that. I feel like my guitar tone is degraded when I plug in directly or even when I pass my Fender acoustic amp through to the JBL. I don't need to be that loud so probably will just use the JBL for voice and use the Fender amp for guitar separately. All in all, it is fine for the price and gives me something to build on.

Fine speaker not for pro use

By Frederic Bartlett from ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL on August 18, 2023 Music Background: Pro audio engineer / semi pro musician

This was one of the worst purchases I've made. My own fault for not putting in more research. So I'm just writing this review for anyone else considering these.

These will not work for a full band, the speakers don't get loud enough, they hit the limit at very low volumes. They will not cover even a small area with any reasonable audio unless you plan on driving them as hard as they can go, in which case you can also plan on purchasing a new set of speakers pretty soon because they won't last very long if you drive them like that.

These were a total let down. I guess you could buy them if you want a really bulky expensive Bluetooth speaker.

JBL Eon 12' and 15"

By Guy from OH on June 2, 2023 Music Background: musician since i was 14..toured, sound, lights staging production, event planner fairs festivals church sound...long time singer and musician, All Topp Entertainment LLC..DC sound...UniChord Productions

AS the warranty expired, I had to have them all 6 repaired soon after...I used them as on stage monitors, and the power amp, speakers, in them went bad...I was a Harmon Pro dealer, and am ashamed of the performance of these...the old EONS were nearly indestructible, and sounded great...never once were they repaired...like all of the industry today, quality is not in the vocabulary...more money, less product...sorry, very dissatisfied.... I will never buy these again...sad.

Not happy

By Dean Pine from Luzerne, MI on November 16, 2022

First of all I am using the JBL 712 for stage monitor, I have 2 other JBL 612 also for monitors. I Myself Love the 612 great Power and clarity, JBL should have never changed the format. The 712 has way to much stuff on it, hate the led screen instead of a input volume. Screen is Way to complicated, also when I need to turn it up on input you have to go thru way to many screens to get to volume. When I get set to where I can here it red light on front comes on and starts climping and gets distorted. I am a big fan of JBL But thumbs down on the new technology. Going to go buy a Mackie for 3rd monitor. JBL please get back to basics. The PA should handle effects not monitor. Not Happy at all
