Dunlop ECB-004 !8 Volt Power Supply
I bought it for my Catalinbread Topanga to get extra headroom. It works very well, and is quiet operation. I think it should have a large "18-Volt" label on it so it doesn't get confused for other power supplies. I ended up putting labels on it so it doesn't mistakenly get used with the wrong effects.
Essential for the EVH Flanger!
If you get an EVH flanger, then getting this 18V power supply is not just required but mandatory!
Works!
Totally changed my sound! (In that my Aguilar TH pedal would not work at all with an older Voodoo Labs Pedal Power. And now it does.) No manual, but after some trial and error and YouTube, I mostly figured it out. Mostly.
MXR 108S Power Supply
MXR 108S use a 18v power supply. No hum or issues. Does not work well with the Fulltone Clyde Deluxe Wah. Always keep extra ps handy.
No noise
Using with Analogman chorus... power supply allows pedal to sound great without any noise. What else could you ask for? Thanks Aaron, my friend!
OCD
Works perfect for the Fulltone OCD overdrive. Makes the pedal shine! OCD sounds way better at 18v.
DON'T BUY BATTERIES
I bought this for use with my EVH Flanger because it's a battery draining beast ! Brand new batteries will be drained within 10 hours .
Great power supply
I needed a power supply for my MXR M159 Stereo Tremolo pedal.
This does the trick.
Excellent customer service too. Thanks Aaron!
18V for my fulldrive2
I was unsure that this was gonna work with my fulldrve2 overdrive pedal because I heard other reviews that 18v adapter introduced a lot of line noise for some people. I really wanted to get the 18v cause I heard that it does complete justice for enhancing my amps tube tone. I was not at all disappointed. The adapter works great with my pedal with no noise. Just make sure and do the research or ask your sweetwater dealer if it is right for your specific pedal as some wired diff can damage ur pedal.
Great for those 18V pedals, even daisy chaining.
I bought one of these to power a Catalinbread pedal at 18V. When I got a second Catalinbread pedal that took 18V, I thought about buying another Dunlop Power Supply. But rated at 1A, I figured why not try a daisy chain first? I used a Visual Sound 1 Spot 5 way connection cable with this Dunlop wallwart and it powers both pedals without issue.
Definitely a very handy item.
18v Power Supply
I originally received this power supply along with the purchase of a Dunlop/MXR Echolplex. Surprised to find the Echolplex came with a power supply, but decided to keep this one for other pedals.
Recently purchased a Sabbra Cadabra nd used this supply for that pedal. It powered the pedal up however I could hear a unwanted noise, even when my guitar volume was off/down. I used a 1 Spot and did not have that problem.
The problem could be somewhere in my set up, I have not investigated it.
This supply has its uses but right now not for me.
As always, Connor Smith from SW is great and I am sure he anticipates an email or call from me regularly! Thanks for your help as always!
Good transformer , but a Wimpy cable…
It does everything it's supposed to, but the complaints about noise from the unit is obvious when you examine the cable. It is very lightweight, with very a very thin protective covering and no shielding. AND, because the cable is so thin, it is easily damaged. I would not use this on any road gigs. I accidentally closed my case on the cable, and tho I did catch it before really pressing down on the lid to lock it, it started failing right after that.
The Dunlop won't stand up to the road.
Purchased for Fulltone OCD
Bought this for my new Fulltone OCD pedal based on recommendations here. This emits a constant high pitched hum. No problem when switching out with a different 9v power supply. You might want to stick with the 9V. I'm going to have to send this one back.
Noisy! Did I mention noisy?
Brand-new pedal, designed for either 9 or 18 volts. Mighty quiet on 9v power supply from Truetone. Plugged in the Dunlop 18v and got a noticeable whine at all but the lowest settings....
