From Our Research Team:Tons Of I/O For Small Price Tag!The Delta 1010-LT offers all of the interface features you need to record music on your computer, including eight analog inputs and outputs (2 XLR microphone inputs with pre amps), S/PDIF in/out, MIDI in/out, and wordclock in/out. Audio from a variety of sources can be connected to the 1010-LT inputs, and the comprehensive Delta Control Panel software can set and even fine-tune the input line level. Inputs 1 & 2 on XLR jacks can be set to receive a balanced line or a mic level signal, eliminating the need for an outboard mic preamp. The S/PDIF input will interface with gear from pro DAT players to CD, DVD or Minidisc, and offers control over the SCMS copy protection protocol. The Delta 1010-LT outputs can be connected to an external mixer or sound system, while the S/PDIF outs feed your digital mixdown deck. The Delta Control Panel Software also controls a hardware mixer embedded in the PCI card, giving still more routing and mixing control. Use the MIDI I/O for your MIDI controllers and sound modules, and finally, connect to wordclock capable devices for rock-solid sample clock synchronization. This gets 4 stars for the price. If you're getting started or looking to upgrade your ins and outs on a budget, THIS is the way to go. Team this up with a mixer with 8 direct outs (like the Behringer Xenyx 2442fx) and Pro Tools M-Powered and you've got a sweet little setup with tons of i/o on a BUDGET. I HIGHLY recommend this product for those who want to track drums and are just starting out, or those who are upgrading their i/o. Happy shopping! close [-]

I give this a 4 because of the price. If you are wanting to spend under 500 bucks this is a great buy. The only downside is that you have to position your computer so you can access the inputs and outputs and they have little etched channel numbers on the inputs which at times are barely audible so you're not really sure which channels you're connecting what to what. Even with superb lighting I was finding I had to shine a maglight on these connectors to see the channel numbers and having to use both hands to try to contain the jumble of wires while guiding the flashlight in your mouth when doing so. A trick that you will master if you buy this card.October 31, 2007 Music Background: small pro recording studio owner/engineer Its got 2 built in pres that you can configure for the unit. Ive never tried them out and really didn't care to. For the price of this I wouldnt expect much out of the built in pres. If your budget allows you to buy two of these you might want to consider buying something with better converters unless you really need the 16 channels IO close [-] Also popular
