5000 series pedals
Bought two of these when I added the 2nd kick drum to my kit to replace the dw 2000 doulbe kick pedal. I thought the 2000 series pedal was smooth and fast but these take it to a whole new level. These are my new favorite part of my drum kit. Since going to these my bass drum kick has gotten more responsive and easier to control. I would definitely recommend these pedals to anyone looking for a great pedal that is built to last and it is a dw so you know your getting some of the best hardware on the market. Thank you Kyle my sweetwater engineer for recommending these to me. I've not bought anything from sweetwater that Kyle has recommended for me to get what sound I'm looking for that hasn't been spot on. Thanks Kyle you have really helped me turn my playing up a few notch's.
I really like this pedal.
I was using a 1969 Rogers bass drum pedal and finally got around to updating my equipment. Right out of the box this is a really nice paddle. I didn't make any adjustments to it and I am 100% satisfied.
I really like this paddle.
I really like this paddle. It was super easy to put on the bass drum. It's a major upgrade from my 69 Rogers bass drum pedal.
Smooth!
Best pedal I have used! It is so fast and smooth, I feel like I am in complete control of my bass drum. This pedal is sturdy and noiseless. I really like the way it clamps to both my kick drums, which are very different in design.
I am so pleased!
Smooth & Quiet
Smooth and quiet pedal right out of the box.
Adapts easily to many playing positions to soft to faster/louder volumes.
Cons: small parts and tools might get misplaced. Bag would be helpful for transport. Want a different feel means a different pedal.

Love it, smooth. My second one lol. I kinda wish I got it in all black but y'all don't sell it
Still my go to
I love this pedal the XF model is great. I've only used the normal size one. But the longer footboard is nice. Action is good.
Solid Build - Feels Great
I went from an Iron Cobra to this DW 5000 Accelerator. To me, they're similar in feel. The tension felt pretty good out of the box so I haven't changed that. I did adjust the beater by tilting it back toward my foot about an inch. Nice pedal!
Excellent
Great pedal. Great response. Great feel.
Good purchase/investment.
DW 5000 foot pedal
Received the pedal right on time. The action is effortless, attack precise, adjustments are easy to implement.
Basically........couldn't be more pleased!
Great improvement
I've been using a DW5000 kick pedal for 20+ years and love it. I bought a new practice kit and wanted to have a separate pedal for it so I wouldn't have to unpack my pedal after every gig. The new pedal is now with the gigging kit and the old one is with the practice kit. Since I've had my old pedal so long, I'm not sure when they upgraded the modifications but DW did a great job. One of them is that the hoop clamp has small pivot pads that now conform to the shape of the hoop and the wing screw to tighten it comes out from the side of the plate instead of being up under the foot plate. Another is the pedal is built on to the base plate instead of being clamped onto the base plate as a separate piece. The beater angle adjustment has changed from having separate holes for different angles to a sliding adjustment that you can use a drum key on to loosen and tighten and you won't need to completely remove a screw with a flat head screw driver anymore. The double chain is new as well from my older version and really feels solid. I'm guessing that these modifications have been on the DW5000 for years but I'm really lovin' them. The pedal is super smooth as expected.
Thanks to Nolan Dye for all his help in my decision making!
Best I've owned
They call this the workhouse for a reason. Great pedal, great price
AMAZING!!
This pedal is like butter on a hot day. It is so quick, but not sloppy. I love this pedal.
Fast, smooth, solid
It"s the standard for a reason. Solid build and feel, fast and powerful. There are faster pedals out there, direct drive for example, but I"ve never found a pedal that strikes with such authority. It can be tuned a number of different ways, so it has some range, but if you are looking for a pedal who"s default is "beef" look no further.
DW 5000
Hands down, the best pedal ever in my opinion.
Great Pedal
Not much more can be said about this icon. The DW5000 Accelerator is super smooth and built like a tank. The action is on the heavier side which I prefer. I own, or have owed, many professional pedals (Tama, Pearl, Mapex, Ludwig) and I always come back to the DW5000. It does everything I need a pedal to do and the new improvements have made it even better. I get more volume and control with this pedal compared to my others. Highly recommended.
Amazing Pedal
This pedal is a must have, easily controllable, extremely easy to do triplets and double hits. If you need a new pedal go with this one. DW is the best!
like an extension of your foot
getting old sucks! With the DW 5000 pedal it's like no effort to play. I love it!
Excellent pedal
I've been playing many years and like many drummers, I've accumulated some great pedals.
I play a lot of jazz and funk, but a bit of everything. The 5000 has precision bearings in the heal plate. This makes the pedal extremely quiet and precise. This is the most important differentiator in my view.
DW 5000
Very very happy with this pedal it is everything I wanted.
used it on 600 gigs still going strong.
STILL USING MY DW SINCE LAST REVIEW BEST PEDAL IVE EVER USED,ROAD WORTHY NOW IVE USED IT ON 600 GIGS STILL GOING DW STRONG DW 5000 THE BEST.
Well-rounded kick that packs a serious punch
I was looking for a pedal that was powerful but still smooth and quick. That's pretty much this kick pedal right here. I've had for a couple months now, and it's been working like a charm! I will say that it is a bit difficult to get used to because of how much heavier it feels, which makes it kinda hard to get clean doubles on. But once you get it moving, it starts flying!
The reason why I didn't give this a full five stars is because:
1. it's not as adjustable as i had hoped.
2. the clamp would occasionally detach from the bass drum hoop (though that may be a problem on my part).
3. i didn't receive a manual to go along with it. i pretty much had to figure out for myself how to assemble and adjust the pedal. there was also a small bag with tiny metal pieces that i still cannot identify the purpose of.

Just got my pedal couple days ago...only gave it 4 star because havent had it long enuf to know how it will hold up long term...however will tell u this is a very well built pedal compared to others i've owned...i'm sure will hold up to the job built for !!! Will give an updated review down the road when had a chance to beat the life out of it...is very smooth and responsive and everything on it adjustable that needs be !!! Definately would say ur getting a lot for this price !!! But dw makes good products anyhow...last thing - i read in 1 or 2 reviews that people had issues with was beater heigth adjustment being too high above center..at first i thought i was having same issue with beater rod stopping at bottom of barrel part...i thawt ... then i played with it for a while twisting it and twisting it while pushing down on it...cha ching !!! Hole was tight at bottom and feels like a built in stopper but NOT the case...dont give up on setting height adj...just use some muscle getting it thru hole while twisting it...if u have smaller than 22 inch bass u might have issue with too little arc with beater set too low in pedal to hit center bass...i wouldnt recommend this for and bass smaller than 22 personally...but thats me...am ordering another one of these pedal when my backordered 2nd bass drum gets here...
New Short Review
So I am Jamming with the Band on Rehearsals (MRBLITX), when we go into Over The Hills and Far Away (Zeppelin) - My Gibraltar Foot Pedal of 20+ Years Buy's The Farm - Darn. I loved that Pedal. So I hit my M&P Music Store, It'sClosed (it's 6:05 PM) - Wait Kevin, I hear Zachs voice (Owner) from behind me as I am walking back to my truck (I have been shopping here for 20+ years and yes, I had this foot pedal a while before moving here to GA.). You need something, he asks? Yeah, I broke my D*&*^ Foot Pedal and I need a New One - Come on in man, I'll take car of ya. I head over to the Pedals and look at a few, I had heard some great things about the DW lines, he says hey, I know how you play, I've seen and heard you play, this DW 5000 IMO was "Custom Made" for your style of playing - I'll take it - Now, this was just a few days ago so I will keep this short - If you know me, this is short -Lol. I put it on my PDP CM Kit and right out of the box, I'm impressed - I play a lot of Doubles and Triplets on the Bsss and this thing literally jumped at the chance to make love to my right foot - got your attention with that one huh !? Lol - So i throw in the Disc.Led Zeppelin - The Song Remains The Same, Dazed and Confused, No Qaurter and went to town with it. I will need to make a couple adjustments maybe, It, like any Pedal needs to be broken in and I also need to get used to it though it's not much different than the Gibraltar Rock KAMAN Pedal I just destroyed - (R.I.P. my friend), but it feels really good - after a few weeks or so I will come back and give my final review - Right now - Very Nice, Very Smooth, Quick, Responsive - Just needs some minor tweaking.. Love It but not ready to give it 5 Stars - yet, still too new.
DW 5000 - Accelerator VS Turbo Model
I wasn't sure which model I wanted... I was able to do a direct, side-by-side comparison. Without a doubt the Accelerator was the one for me. The Turbo is a fine model and others could easily feel different.
One note about both: The way both models clamp onto your bass drum rim raises the rim quite a bit, maybe a quarter to half an inch, and with the weight of the bass drum including mounted tom toms ... if you're set up on thick carpet, or like in my case I have a piece of thin carpet set up on a medium thick carpet to protect the bedroom carpet underneath ... it might make the heel of the pedal rise up a little bit. But while I'm playing I didn't seem to notice it. Others might feel differently.
Awesome Pedal
This is a great battle, it's a lot faster than my other ones, I was using the PDP concept direct drive petals, and I kept breaking them. The guys at Sweetwater recommended these petals and I really like them. Smoother and faster then the PDP they really feel great. The one drawback that I do you dislike about him, the reason I gave them four stars instead of five, is that there really is no easy way to just have a height after you adjust the beater distance from the head.
