A Chamber Orchestra from Vienna!
After the overwhelming success of the Vienna Symphonic Library's large orchestral ensembles, it seemed only natural to offer a more flexible and expressive string ensemble. So the Horizon Series Chamber Strings collection was born. Useful for small orchestrations, split string groups (divisi) or for mixing with big ensembles to create fine nuances and rich textures, the Chamber Strings will rise to almost any occasion - from Baroque to Pop.

A brand-new collection of string samples in chamber orchestra ensemble sizes
The Horizon Series Chamber Strings are a completely new collection of samples - none of these instruments came from the original VSL libraries. The ensembles of six violins, four violas, three cellos and two double basses allow for beauty and perfection even within the most delicate musical settings.
Multiple performance techniques with Performance Tool control and new harmonics samples
All four string groups in Chamber Strings offer legato, portamento legato, detache, spiccato and repetition performances, to be played with the unique VSL Performance Tool. In addition, Chamber Strings include new playing techniques including natural harmonics and flageolet glissandos. You can build ethereal chords of harmonics or eerie sweeps to create unique atmospheric orchestrations.
String sounds blend perfectly with existing VSL string sections
All Horizon Series instruments including Chamber Strings were recorded in VSL's exclusive custom-designed Silent Stage, which ensures tonal balance and consistency. The Chamber Strings not only offer absolute homogeneity with the existing editions of the Vienna Symphonic Library, but are also versatile as stand-alone instruments due to their wide selection of playing techniques and extensive articulations.
Thousands of samples with dozens of articulations
The Horizon Series Chamber Strings make up a vast collection of samples - more than 31,000 samples encompassing 18GB provide you with complete articulations, performance techniques and textures to allow your creative flow to continue unimpeded by a lack of sound options. By itself or used with other VSL libraries, the Chamber Strings are a monumental achievement in orchestral sampling!
