Great Keyboard - Top of the Line
Max - keep practicing your arpapegios and you will grow into thie wonderful instrument. Your feel will soon go from technique to playing with abandon... and tons of new sounds will pique your mind. You're about to have a blast..
Sounds great! Plays poorly..............
I tried the whole clavinova series out and was more than willing to fork out the money if was all that was advertised. The "real" wooden keys and great action. Well it may fool amateurs but if you are a pro player with serious chops (I am :-) you will find this series unplayable.
Save your money, and get a Korg G1 Air!!!
The Yamaha may sound a little better (though that is debatable) but the Korg's response triggers the sound just right. Even on the Yamaha demo the guy missed a note on the slow arpeggio (probably due to the inadequate action.
Fast arpeggios and certain fingerings I use I can easily play every time with the Korg and never really play correctly with the Yamaha (or any other brand!!) And I have tried them all.
Sorry to give Yamaha a bad rating but they deserve it.
Now that Korg has FINALLY caught up sound wise (they have been lacking and lagging behind when it came to "real" sounds and especially acoustic piano sound) it is the only keyboard I will buy (although Kurzweil/Roland/Yamaha/ even Casio have good or great sounds.
I now own 3 Korgs. The G1 Air (my favorite for playing solo piano due to its nice sound system) Their Grand Stage (excellent action, great sounds, easy to use) and the Kronos which is kind of stupidly complex, but has great production value. All have RH3 action which is easily the best action on the market and by far outshines all other brands when it comes to being able to play with high end technique.
I know the action won't matter to many out their because they have less than exceptional chops (technique) and that's fine I get it. I takes Thousands upon thousands of hours to develop "SERIOUS" piano technique.
But for those with great chops or those who are developing, get the Korg!! Seriously it is a joy to play, and is the first digital piano I would say that about.
