Bugera BXD15 1x15" 1000-watt Bass Combo Amp with Compressor Reviews

1,000-watt 15" Aluminum Speaker Bass Combo Amp with Compressor

Huge on portable power, the Bugera BXD15A bass combo amp rocks 1,000 watts of high-efficiency Class D power. The preamp is driven by MOSFET technology, which imparts a classic tube warmth to your tone. And since it's a combo, getting the gig should be no problem, as your power and the 15" Turbosound speaker are joined together in an easy-to-move package. When you're at the gig, the footswitchable FX loop simplifies your onstage setup, and the dedicated balanced DI makes it easy to connect to the soundboard. And this just scratches the surface of the Bugera BXD15A bass combo amp's features!

Bang for you buck

By Jeremy from Charlottesville, VA on April 9, 2023

Bought this a few months ago, and have used it on about a dozen gigs. Its continuous rating is nowhere near the 1000W rating, but it sure is loud and sounds great. I'd put it volume-wise in with the 500W range combo amps. That aside, for playing small- to medium-sized clubs, it's plenty. Keeps up well with a drummer and lead guitar. Sound is superb throughout the range, and I really like the onboard compressor- no hiss or noise out of it. It's a little on the heavy side, and the tilt-back design can make it cumbersome to carry. I'm going to add some flush mount lift handles to the sides so I can carry with both arms. If you're looking for power on a budget, this is it.

great sound and easy to carry

By rob aikens from San Antonio, TX on February 16, 2023

Since I have my Bugera I cant complain. The power and clear crisp sound that comes out is incredible. Ive had a gig for 500plus and you would have thought I had brought more gear. Clear concise plenty of punch

Best deal on a Bass Combo Amp

By Darius Ecker from MD on January 24, 2023 Music Background: Pro Bassist

If you thinking about buying one of these Combo amps, stop thinking and buy it. When I was testing this out my wife keeps saying it shakes the house.

Probably can be compared with Fender Rumble 500, but seems clearer to me, less distortion at high volumes. And I love the little extra bite the aluminum speaker gives it. The only reason I returned this Is I am going to have to play some larger venues, and outdoor stuff. I exchanged it for the Bugera 2000 watt head, and a mixer bag for it. If we were just doing clubs, I would have kept the combo amp.

This is great cost effective gear, and of course Sweetwater is the best. Allowing me to exchange this without any problems.

Best combo ever

By Frank Rubio on January 13, 2023

I bought one a couple of months ago. I began to wonder how two would sound. I bought the second one and couldn't believe how good it sounded. Pound for pound it blows away my Eden and Mesa gear. Two will fit in my compact car with ease. My only negative is it needs a second handle to make it less awkward to carry. So I installed a second carry handle problem solved. If you are thinking about one of these don't hesitate you will be surprised.

Wow..

Fantastic amp with a big punch for its size, absolutely love how loud and consistent this amp sounds cranked up or not, tried it on multiple basses and pedals for different genres and sounded bada$$ , best budget amp on the market without a doubt!!

I love my sound!!

By Marcus Pedersen from New Albany, MS on January 5, 2023 Music Background: Lifelong musician and songwriter.

I researched a lot before buying an amp. I must say the YouTube videos demoing this unit do not do it justice. The specs and design outweighed that in my mind, so I took the leap. So glad!! I have a sort of aggressive tone (think Geddy Lee without the distort) and this unit actually helps me achieve my ideal sound. This and my new TC Electronic Plethora X5 make me sound and feel the I have in over 40 years of bass playing!! Tip of the hat to my sales engineer, Evan. Thanks for everything, brother!!

The best combo for every penny you can pay

By Alberto from Utah on December 22, 2022 Music Background: Serious enthusiastic bass player

Super fun and very awesome loud and fine sound with all the bells and whistles to fine tune your bass guitar to play in a loud band on stage for a small venue, as a monitor on bigger venues, studio or just basement jamming. Just perfect for a budget demanding enthusiastic bass guitar player that can take the gear every where Without mussels and space demanding. It claim max peak power at 1000 watts but is capable to go at 500 watts sustained and your neighbors can tell. If you are looking for a sustained 1000 watts should look after a stack gear and pay 3 times more. But if you want to simplify and stay efficient this is you best choice.

It's ridiculous

Big sound in a small package!

By Randy on September 9, 2022

I'm very impressed with the overall appearance of this amp. But, when I plugged it in I was even more amazed at the tone and volume from such a small package. I play a six string bass and, when I played the B string I was getting a little distortion But, when I added just a little compression it took that distortion right out and my B string sounds amazing. I am very happy with the overall tone I'm getting from this amp. I have a preamp pedal but I don't feel the need to use it because of the Great tone quality I'm getting without it! I love the aux input feature where I can plug in my iPhone and play songs and practice with them. Would recommend this to all my bass player friends!

First let me say when I got the bugera thought I wasn't working I never had a amp that the gain went from 0 so at 0 on the gain you get nothing lol.so der on that. This amp is the balls the sound with the bass and volume is awesome I have it hooked up with a line 6 spiderman another awesome amp the rca out the the spider into the rca in on the bxd15a with a aby switch box just one hell of a rig now wish I had it years ago yeah very happy with the bugera very good tone still havnt had it all the way to 10 not sure if my windows will take that looked at the price you could get 2 of these for what others are asking for one. Oh and as far as the 1000 watt thing it has a 250 watt 4 ohm 15 inch peaker that gives 123 db at one meter class D so good on power usage

Greatest sounding and very durable light amps and speakers, I ve ever come across for the price!

By Rafaello Siacca from Florida on June 3, 2021 Music Background: Started playing in 1968. Have toured with many national and local bands.

I have been a pro, touring bass player for over 40 years now. I have always mostly played Fender Basses through Classic Ampeg Bass rigs. As I have aged, I was looking for a Bass rig that is easier on the back when playing on call gigs locally. I ve found that I can achieve that classic Ampeg sound in the lightweight, durable Bugera line of Veyon amps and 410s,115,210s Turbosound equipped speaker enclosures. My beloved Classic Ampeg SVT & speakers sit lonely in a warehouse now, because of the weight they gained! The most used amp in my arsenal now is the Bugera BXD115 tiltback Combo Amp for gigs on the go. I have been using Bugera amps and speakers now for over 3 years steady. I have not encountered no problems whatsoever. As long as you do not abuse your preamp gains, they will last as long as any more expensive amp & speakers. You can t beat the Bugeras for the price!

Revised Review. A must buy!

By Chance B. on February 10, 2021 Music Background: Part Time Pro

This a really great amp. My previous review complained about the DI not working. Must have been a lemon because my new one works fine. I love the tones that I can get from this amp with my P Basses. The aluminum speaker does not distort at all and has a nice zingy presence that cuts through the mix. I also own a Fender Rumble 500 combo and the Bugera can easily keep up with the Rumble. With my drop tuned P bass the Rumble combo will distort. The Bugera will not distort even at high volumes. The Bugera has become my main amp now and I'm really impressed with the tone and volume of the amp. This amp can get insanely loud and sounds better than amps twice the price. Yes the amp is a little heavy by 2021 standards and it's carpeted, but for the price you can't beat it. It's a must buy!

When I bought this bugera amp I was hesitant if I had made a right purchase, so I called sweetwater and asked if I could return it. They said no problem at all just send it back for full refund. When I item arrived I was curious if this amp was all the hype it was intended to be. In my surprise it was all I expected and more.. This amp was well worth the money I spent and it really performs like advertised!..Sure enough don't judge a book by its cover...Bugera BXD15A..highly recommend!!

Amazing Amp!!!

By Nathaniel Madonia from Pine, AZ on June 4, 2020 Music Background: Christian Bassist/guitarist/drummer as well as a Sound Engineer in training.

I am overall extremely impressed with this amp. The aluminum speaker adds a significant amount of highs without reducing the punchiness of the bass. The onboard compression is extremely helpful for smoothing out and troublesome signals. The mid frequency knob is super helpful when you want to add a little extra pick or crisp to the mix. I noticed right away that this amp makes no sound when you turn it on and off which is pretty hard to find in solid state amps. The mute button is extremely helpful on stage when you are waiting to play. You don't have to worry about accidentally bumping your bass and causing extra noise.

I am overall impressed with this amp. It is worth the money.

Just as a side note, the speaker is 250 watts and the preamp takes the rest of the thousand watts. Do be discouraged though, this guy can pack a punch.

Great Bass Amp

By KHorton from Kentucky on September 18, 2019

First of all. I bought the Bugera BXD15A on Sunday, and it was at my house on Tuesday. That was with free shipping.. In the packing was sweet treats and a very thick catalog..

I love the sound of this Amplifier.. It has the very Deep End Bass Sound that I desire.. It is a nice looking Amplifier and is not to Heavy. Several People have said that it isn't really 1000 watts.. I don't know about that.. But I know that I just turned the Gain up about half way. Then the Master Volume about a quarter up.. The pictures on my wall were vibrating. It's plenty loud enough for me.. I'm glad that I bought it..

Pope Of Reno/Tahoe here. And I know I will get laughed at for this Bugera. Until I fire it up and peeps shut up. I love mid range, this beast has it. A few babies in this review section just don't get it. I've named it Dragon's Breath because it it blows pure blue fire. Heat. If you are using this amp for practice you should rethink your life, donate it to a person who needs it and get a 50 watt. I'm just a humble Pope, put this amp has changed my life. Bugera is Boss

By Doc from St Louis, Mo. on January 28, 2019 Music Background: 33 years of playing everything from heavy metal to pop to bepop jazz.

It's a 46 pound keg of dynamite that packs plenty of punch. The low phat end is clean with the clarity of a piano string when playing the B and E strings. The mids have sweet round tones with plenty of definition. The highs are crisp and easy to shape with the treble and ultra high control knobs. Tightening up and rounding out tone is a beauty using the onboard compression button and dial. I use this unit for contemporary jazz, rock and R& B. I can't believe how easily I can dial up studio tone and power in a combo bass amp. The kickback feature is a plus for those intimate in yo face bass moments.

BUY IT....NOW

I needed a new bass combo which carried a lot of power without the muddiness of many.. " so called power amps". Everything you will need for any contemporary or old bass guitar. If your instrument has active or passive electronics , including the double bass, playing at high volumes did not hinder the clarity of tones....

Surprisingly Awesome

By Bobby C from CT, USA on August 20, 2017 Music Background: Bass Player, beginner at recording/mixing

This amp has to be one of the best (if not THE) best you can get in the price range. I tried a Fender Rumble V3 (3rd gen) 100 watt which was within $100 of this Bugera, and was kind of disappointed at the rough tone and low volume. I traded it for this Bugera BXD15A because I had read lots of good things about it and I'm happy I did. It's quite a bit heavier than the Fender but not too heavy to carry around from practices/recording sessions/gigs, and to me the extra weight makes me believe it's built more solid and should last longer. The amp is more than loud enough to play with a live drummer (and my drummer plays loud) whereas the Fender 100W I turned up until it was clipping and sounded awful and still had to sit on the amp to hear myself. Tone wise, the amp sounds awesome. I'm amazed at the sounds you can get from an amp in this price range. The aluminum speaker sounds great, the compressor works awesome for slapping or harder playing to smooth everything out. I mostly keep the EQ knobs all flat at 12 o clock, but sometimes I may add some mids (the mid frequency selector to switch what frequency your mid control changes is a nice touch, sometimes I'll add some high mids, sometimes I'll add some middle-mids, or cut some, or even add some low mids, other times I'll boost the bass, mids, and treble different amounts and shape the sound. I love the kickback feature as it sounds a lot better when aimed up at my ears instead of towards my legs, and I record the amp (with a Shure Beta 52A microphone) kicked back as well, although great tones can be achieved when it's standing straight up too when recording, but aiming it upwards I find makes it easier to find a good position for the microphone to hear what I'm hearing. I usually mic the speaker dead center or very slightly off center and on or very slightly off axis and get amazing sounds, which, when coupled with a DI signal, gives a killer recorded tone (sometimes when I just want to record something quick to show my drummer for later or just record myself practice to look back on later to see what needs improving I will only use the microphone and skip the DI, and get amazing sounds that way as well.) I usually use a separate DI box but before I had one the DI out on the amp worked very well, it was however very hot so I couldn't turn the gain on my interface up very much before it clipped so with some interfaces or mixers without enough gain adjustment that could be an issue, but that's something that could be different based on the bass/pickups you're using. All in all I'd say this amp is well worth the money and I've had it for about 5 months now and am very happy. I won't be getting another amp unless and until I start playing professionally, gigging out and about and doing serious professional recordings, because unless I started doing all that I really won't need another amp as long as I have this one and I have nothing to gain from getting a more expensive amp. I have shown people tracks I've recorded (solo bass as well as full mix recordings with drums, 1-2 guitars- and occasionally keyboards) and they're amazed at the tones, same goes for those who have heard it in person right in front of them. I've played some really nice amps that I can't afford any time soon that cost 3x as much and I can honestly say this thing holds its own big time.

For those interested, I play a Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar bass (passive pickups with active boost circuit, so I use the -15db pad on the amp) and the bass has PJ pickups with a Seymour Duncan Vintage P-bass pickup on the neck and a Seymour Duncan Apollo Jazz bass pickup on the bridge, and the variety of sounds this amp can produce with that bass at a wide variety of volumes is awesome.

Bugera Boogie

By Gene Trevino from Stockton, CA on April 22, 2016 Music Background: Been playing since the mid 70's in a variety of pro levels.

1,000 Watts may seem excessive for an amp, but it is needed as the musician makes demands when playing. Immediately I noticed how quiet this amp is. It has the potential to get very loud when needed. There are no annoying clicks or loud pops when powered on or off. I usually play with a pick, but when I tried finger style playing, the response was silky smooth.

In recording studios, engineers prefer a pick for a cleaner sound that make Slew Rates, or the conversion from pickup signal to preamps, faster. The BXD15A does this very smoothly and quietly. The styling, the design, and the appearance with LED lights and controls, are modern and comforting at the same time.

I plan on using this Beast on many projects as well as for guitar, keyboard, and obviously, bass guitar. For the money, the Bugera Amp/Combo system, employing cutting edge amplification technology, is a Steal.

Thanks to the people at Sweetwater for the best prices, product support, and great deals. The Free Shipping is a great, but the Candy in the shipping box is the deal breaker. It shows that Sweetwater is whimsical, down to Earth, cute, and fun. All that while being seriously concerned professionals.

It is great! I had been using a 60W 12" guitar amp or into a direct board for bass, but it is so nice to have a big fat 15" speaker to rattle the doors and windows. The wattage is more than enough, but I would not see it as 1kW (thankfully since it would not be playable indoors). Great sounds and sufficient controls. Really enjoying the bass now. Also, the price is fantastic!

Girth with definition. I got the Acoustic 360 sound I wanted.

By Steve from DC/VA on December 8, 2022 Music Background: Pro for 25 yrs, player for 50

The problem with an Acoustic 360 (18", rear-facing, folded horn cab)...aside from its enormity...is that, at normal stage volume the low-end waveform doesn't set up until you're 15 to 20 feet from the front of the cab. However, at low volume, it was sweet and low. It never had any upper-mid snap.

This Bugera BXD15A (aluminum spkr) has a "Ultra Low" which synthesizes lower harmonics from the fundamental. With that engaged, I dial the bass knob back to 10:oo, dial the Mid (set on 800 hz) back to 11:00, and add just a little Treble at 12:30. My run the tone on my old P-bass BACK to half on most songs. Nice, furry, but articulate. I use a Line 6 705 5-string, too, and the B- string is strong and even in this one.

I run the volume at about 10:00, I'm not trying to fill the auditorium. The XLR to the house, I use it as a monitor and to just be full on stage..and it can get louder, but then everybody gets louder. The FOH guys can torture the audience.

I'm not nuts about the carpet covering. The handle could be better placed, for the sake of balance. Meh...small thing.

Nate got it to me in, like, 3 days, in time for a two-nighter debut. Thank you, very much. About 12 dates after that, and it's still beautiful sounding.

It's a great little rig thats big for its size.

Great combo amp!

By Kelly Fox from Austin, TX on August 2, 2022

Plenty of power, and warmer sound than you'd expect from an aluminum cone. Only thing that would improve it would be handles on the sides because it can be awkward to move or carry otherwise.

Great amp

By Roger from Oklahoma on September 27, 2019 Music Background: Okay bass player.

I"ve had this amp for about a week now. You can get many tones out of it. I play a Fender P bass and a Hofner bass thru it and they both sound really good thru this amp. The amp is plenty loud enough, that"s for sure. It"s a little heavy for its size, but not really an issue for a guy with a bad back like me. I think for the money this would be hard to beat. If you want something that sounds great and loud enough that you can hear yourself over the rest of the band, I recommend this amp.

Awesome Amp!

By Big D from Kingsville, TX on May 23, 2019 Music Background: Professional

Howdy Folks!
This amp is awesome! Plenty of power (listed at 1,000...probably more like 300-400 watts RMS), great tone, and BRIGHT! The aluminum speaker looks great, and sounds even better. Very versatile...can be mean clean or perty dirty. Have no doubt...this baby WILL keep up with a full band.

And the first thing I noticed when firing it up? It is seriously quiet. No snaps, crackles, or pops (like Rice Krispies lol!). My bandmates all commented on how nice the amp looks and sounds. Definitely an upgrade from my Rumble (and I'm a lifelong Fender customer).

It is ruggedly built. Obviously meant and designed for working pros. The kick screen is a nice touch to ensure speaker integrity.

My only "dings" to the amp rating: 1.) It is fairly heavy (weighs in at 48.5 lbs.), and only has the topside carry strap, and 2.) there is no dedicated "distortion" control. However, I can get some natural distortion (which sounds pretty cool) from running my bridge p/u full bore on. Just minor stuff.

All in all, I am extremely happy with the amp, and the folks at Sweetwater are the BEST. Best customer service in the business. Bar None! Thanks Sean, for the assists. Rock on!

Great little amp!

By Bill from Jackson, TN on May 13, 2018 Music Background: Musician, Sound Engineer.

This amp is great if you like a full range sound...plenty of lows, mids, highs and clarity. The mosfet preamp has a nice subtle grit when turned up. The mid control with 4 different selectable freq centers is nice for dialing in (or out) unique tonal charactoristics. The XLR direct out is great. I use the amp as a spare and for the monthly community Open JAM were I provide PA and backline. I pipe the XLR out through 4 wedges in addition to it's own volume for stage coverage. Sounds awesome. The tilt back design is brilliant for reducing stage volume yet allowing the bassist to hear themselves.

The amp is nearly FRFR (full range, flat response) and I've used it as an amp with my Kemper Profiler and any modeling pedal with adequate EQ control should sound good in a pinch.. With a little tweaking, I had a very convincing guitar tone...surprising for a 15 inch full range speaker! The aluminum cone is very bright if needed. Of course, highs can be dialed down as needed.

Overall, I am satisfied. Time will tell on reliability. All these small 15 inch bass combos shake hard if cranked so it'll be interesting to see if it self destructs over time. I'm a big fan of the X32 mixers which have proven to be very reliable after years of gigging. Behringer has been making good choices in aquiring other companies (like Midas, Klark Teknik, TC Helicon, Bugera). Times are changing!

Bugera BDX 15A

By JOSEPH ROMANO from BARNEGAT, NJ on October 25, 2017 Music Background: Guitar player 40 years.

Looking for my first bass amp really wanted the Ashdown but the wait for stock was too long. After much research I choose the Bugera BDX 15A. This is a great sounding amp perfect for in home practice or small gigs. It arrived well packed and in perfect condition. The 1000 watt rating is a bit miss leading I would rate this in the 150 - 200 watt RMS category perfect for in home practice and small venues. There are many options for adjusting tone and after a few days of experimenting I was able to dial in a real clean thumping sound. You would be hard pressed to find a better amp in this price range. The amp sounds good at low volumes but can rattle the windows when turned up. A good value for the money. Under the same circumstances zi would buy it again no questions asked.

Awesome Amp!

By Bobby Caselnova from Brookfield, CT on April 9, 2017 Music Background: Getting back into my old bass habit

This amp is great, especially for the price. I first got a Fender Rumble 100 and it was too quiet to play with a drummer and the tone wasn't all that great so I got this. Definitely loud enough to practice with a band with, and the tone is far better than the Fender's, you would think it was 3 times the price of the Fender if you heard them side by side but it's only another $80. Only reason I'm giving 4.5 out of 5 stars is because it's rated at 1,000 watts, which I knew before buying it was not RMS wattage so I knew it wouldn't be nearly as loud as something that was 500 watts RMS but for something they advertise as 1,000 watts it is quite quiet, even more quiet than I expected. But like I said it's loud enough to play with a loud drummer and have the drummer hear me and hear myself without sitting on the amp. Also with the "tuner out" jack on the back I can run another monitor (I also tried it with my other old combo amp and it worked fine) so you can have this amp running with another amp or monitor on another side of the setup for added volume and sound on all sides. I love the sound of this amp and if you're looking for an amp in this price range you can't go wrong with this.

Does the Job for me

By Victor B. from Illinois on March 17, 2017 Music Background: Playing Gospel Music for about 15 years

So far, so good. I have used this Bugera BXD15A in our church service the past 2 weeks and it has performed just fine. I haven't needed to push the volume levels for the type of music we play, but it has provided all the volume and clarity I have needed it to provide. The tone has been very good as well. I love having a mute button to use between songs and during prayer time. That really helps to avoid unnecessary noise during the service. Thanks Sweetwater and thanks Bugera.

I have had mine for a few years and its never let me down! I play pretty much every weekend. Pretty powerful and excellent tone with plenty of options. Great amp for the money.

Bugera bass amp

Plenty of power, good tone

Bugera BXD15A

By Sweetwater Customer on September 2, 2022

Bought this for rehearsal. I was a little apprehensive as my luck with both Bugera and Behringer is not the best. But this thing rocks I am going to use it at a small event this weekend. So far the sound is not bad no problems keeping up with the band. My only complaint is that the shape makes it a awkward to carry. I put a handle on the lower angle on the back and it is a breeze to carry. I tried the Fender and Ampeg amps but was not impressed. It will never replace my Eden stuff but great so far a small practice amp with plenty of power.

Great Amp, but has QC issues!

By Chance B. on October 2, 2017 Music Background: Part-Time Pro.

I bought this amp to replace my GK MB500 Head and Mesa/Boogie 2x10 cab. I really like the tone and controls on the amp. I also love the kickback feature on this amp. The amp feels very sturdy and has a very nice compressor. Now the bad news..... I brought the amp to my first gig the other day. I plugged in the XLR cable to the amps DI and got a horrible cracking noise. We changed the XLR cable and it still was crackling. Luckily, the venue had a DI that could plug into. The amp sounded great during the gig, but I question Bugera's internal build quality. I sent it back to Sweetwater (no problems with Sweetwater! Great as always!) and I am now waiting on a Hartke KB15. Hopefully I will have no DI issues.

Disappointing

Amp is great for the price - I've used this amp twice and the DO did not work last night and I had to mic it.

250 WATTS RMS (SPANISH)

By ARMANDO REYES JR from ONTARIO, CA on January 20, 2023 Music Background: BAJISTA CON EXPERIENCIA

ESTA BOCINA + AMPLIFICADOR SUENA BIEN, TIENE MUCHAS OPCIONES PERO NO LO RECOMIENDO PARA EVENTOS EN VIVO. LOS 1000 WATTS QUE TIENE ES EL PODER MAXIMO QUE PUEDE DAR PERO EL PODER CONSTANTE SON DE 250 WATTS. QUE SON SUFICIENTES PARA ENSAYOS MAS NO PARA UN EVENTO. GRACIAS A IRVIN EL MANAGER DE VENTAS PUDE CAMBIAR EL MIO POR UN MAS FUERTE FENDER RUMBLE 800. LO QUE NECESITEN CON EL PRESUPUESTO QUE TENGAN IRVIN ES EL CHAVO QUE PUEDE HACERLO POSSIBLE.

250 WATTS RMS

By Armando Reyes Jr from ONTARIO, CA on January 20, 2023 Music Background: Experienced bass player

AMP IS GOOD FOR AT HOME PRACTICE WOULD NOT RECOMMENED FOR ANY GIGS BUT SMALLER GET TOGETHERS. AMP IS HAS ALOT OF FEATURES AND DOES SOUND GOOD BUT NOT FOR LIVE PERFORMANCES ITS 1000 PEAK POWER IS ONLY DOING 250 TRUE POWER. TRADING IT IN FOR A FENDER RUMBLE 800. SPECIAL SHOUT OUT TO IRVIN THE SALES MANAGER @ SWEET(h20) FOR MAKING THIS ALL HAPPEN. FIRST TIME BUYING ONLINE AND IM VERY PLEASED IT WAS WITH SWEETWATER DEF. GOING TO BUY FROM HERE AGAIN.

Not 1000 watts

By Sweetwater Customer on December 12, 2020

This is nothing more than an overpriced practice combo. I practice with it at about 1/3 volume and it clips every power chord played. At best 200w RMS and no external speaker output. All that said I do like the various tones I get from it although it is irrelevant because it is as I said suitable for nothing more than practice at home.

Not for me

By JDub from Yardley, PA on April 21, 2023

I wanted to love this, but it seemed to distort at low volumes. I wouldn't recommend this for 'active' settings on the bass. It couldn't handle the EMGs on my 5 string, even with the onboard compressor. Of course, Sweetwater rocks & accepted my return of the Bugera. The 2 stars are, discretely, for the product; 5 starts for Sweetwater!

Speaker blew

By Brian Fulenwider on March 8, 2023

After only have this amp for about 2 months the speaker started making a terrible noise. I'm pretty sure it was blown. Sweetwater was nice enough to let me return it and get a Fender Rumble.

It stopped working suddenly after a while

By JONATHAN BARRY from Palmdale, CA on March 6, 2024

Make sure you get some type of insurance for this amp because there's a good change it can just stop working on you

Loved the tone til it quit

By Sweetwater Customer on May 10, 2023

I played mine 5_6 times and it quit , can't get it repaired
