AudioBox iTwo

By Frank Skelly from Dayton, OH on September 14, 2023 Music Background: Technologist

This has been the audio interface that really broke me into the DAW world! Needed an interface with MIDI DIN interfaces, Core MIDI, 2 channels balanced Audio I/O. Had tried another interface specifically to interoperate with iPad apps, but encountered issues. Ben Robinson suggested that I go with this interface, glad I did! It is small enough to carry in a bag with an iPad and mix two instruments with a nice clean board handoff. The purchase came with Studio One Artist version, among others. That was also a deciding factor. Now working / learning the professional version through PreSonus Studio One +.

Nice features at such a low prce!

By Ed Drury from PORTLAND, OR on August 7, 2023

My favorite feature on this little box is the MIX knob on the front panel. What this little knob does is allow you to control the output signal sent to your monitors or headphones to allow you to increase the levels on your track or whatever instruments you are recording live. It makes the juggling act of being able to clearly hear yourself and the music you are adding tracks to simple and intuitive. Turn it clockwise, and the playback levels come up in the mix - counterclockwise, your live input level steps right up. All this without changing the input levels you struggled so hard to get perfectly staged.

The main reason I got this was as a MIDI in/audio out device for use with Arturia iSEM and Moog Model D apps on my iPad controlled by external MIDI. As such it works beautifully and returns great sound quality. Thanks for the recommendation, Dan!

Important info great sound

By Steve Testa from Mantua NJ on March 5, 2021 Music Background: New Ghost, Glass Slipper Flight Plan, bassist/ sound engineer. Church services

This unit sounds great. This is in use for line recording for live church services. Many audio interfaces have connectivity issues using iPhones 10 / 14.2.
This is very important. Special note I phone users- If recording to Facebook live set this unit up first, (slow blinking blue light on). DO NOT PLUG THIS INTO YOUR I PHONE 1st. Press app for Facebook live, press record. After the red light record is active comes on, then plug this into the iPhone. THIS IS A NEEDED PROCESS. THE LIGHT WILL GO SOLID AND YOU ARE ON YOUR WAY. I am not really sure why this info isn't more well known. You will be pleased at the sound quality. Great unit.

Great iPad Interface

By Chris Garner on August 25, 2020

I bought this years ago because I learned that you could use this with an iPad and record anywhere as long as you have someway to plug it into a outlet. I decided to use it last Sunday , the 23rd of August, 2020 to record vocals using a shotgun mic. I was very impressed with the sound quality of the preamps which maybe cheep made preamps. However, I did notice that you need to crank the gain up to have the mic pickup the sound. Overall, I gives is an A+ because it's an solid built iPad interface. I recommend this to anyone looking for a portable interface.

Home Studio

By Toddius from Oklahoma City on January 16, 2018 Music Background: Classical guitar major back in the day

This was an upgrade from the Line 6 UX2. I needed a MIDI connection for a keyboard that the Line 6 didn't have. I am using a late 2013 iMac, Logic Pro (and Reaper). So here's the short list of pros:
- setup was super easy
- construction is solid. It's metal and the knobs don't feel cheap. Smooth motion.
- software, it comes with a free Lexicon reverb VST plugin so there's that :) Comes with other software too, but I've only had it 4 days.
- Within 30 minutes, unit was installed and a 6 track tone test was done

A special shout-out to the wonderful salesman/engineer at Sweetwater who helped me narrow my choices down to this. Thanks Alex!

Think Two or Four

By Chester Morrison from FL on September 19, 2017

I bought this unit about a week ago. I have looked at DAWs and audio interfaces for over a year. This one came with Studio One Artist and that and the price drop made my decision. I knew very little going in but I researched comments section here and in other forums. I also downloaded the manual from the Presonus website, which you have to do because the they send very little to get you going in the box. Be sure you have the audio interface turned on before you fire up Studio One otherwise the software selects an interface for you.

After I got the DAW to recognize the Presonus box I started a recording session with guitar and vocal and everything went well. As at least one other comment mentioned there are a fabulous number of virtual instruments and effects in Studio One Artist. If you want to record a virtual instrument track and you do not have a Midi Device you can install your keyboard through the External Device option. Just make sure to hit the Caps Lock key on the keyboard to bring up the QWERTY Keyboard option in the console panel.

I struggled for awhile trying to figure that one out because nowhere in the 300+ page manual could I find a sentence that said turn on caps lock key to record virtual instruments. Helps to have some piano keyboard knowledge also. One commenter said there is not MIDI usb support not sure what that means since I have not hooked up a MIDI device but the computer keyboard works great. May only regret is - as my sales rep Kyle Malone reminded me - I originally wanted at least three channels but settled for two. Do it over again I would buy at least a four channel. Even though you can overdub, being able to sit two guitar players with vocals would be nice.

While definitely a learning curve, it's not all that hard and once you got it; there's no stopping you!
The Artist edition is jam packed with enough goodies to keep you experimenting. Our record with the basics that more than rival ProTools or Logic Pro.
Why pay more? Unless of course you want to.

Great sounding unit!

By Mike Lucas from Ohio on December 1, 2016 Music Background: Hobbiest

I decided to finally convert to PC recording after being an iOS/auria guy for years now. But buying a new laptop and this unit were cheaper and even more powerful than upgrading to an iPad Pro. The real decision maker was that this unit comes with some great DAW software as well. Windows 10 isn't my fav but it's worth it for all the power packed into this unit coupled with Studio One software. Speaking of Windows 10 I had some trouble getting the drivers to install and called Sweetwater tech support. I was blown away by the speed and knowledge of service tech Andrew. He logged into my computer remotely and had those drivers up and running in 5 min flat!! Highly recommend this product and Sweetwater!!

Unbeatable Value

By Melvin Hawkins from IL on July 29, 2016 Music Background: hobbyist

This is the ultimate budget-minded audio interface; it has everything you could possibly need. If you like using an iPad for music as well, this is a no brainer. Not only do you get a usable DAW to record with for free included, this has a MIDI interface built in, which means you can connect the MIDI out of an external synth and use it to control an iPad synth. With this one unit, there is no need to buy a DAW or MIDI interface separately for a small setup; it has it all. And you're paying around $150 for all of that! I have also experienced no latency or noise with this unit.

I am truly blown away with how much this inexpensive interface has to offer. Just make sure if you use the Capture app from Presonus, you allow the app to access the microphone, even if you don't plan to use the mic to record. I disabled it so it would only pick up synth audio, but ithe app won't read an audio feed without the mic enabled, even if you're recording via the interface inputs.

Well done, Presonus.

I am blown away! The pre amps in this unit are amazing. It nice to hear, or should I say not hear the hiss when your preamp is up all the way so you can achieve more gain in your channel, without the awful hiss.
Everything I sung, played, and programmed sound very clean. I would love to buy the larger unit next time.

It is just as Mitch Gallahger described it!
The pre amps are incredible, they are pristine and transparent. I love the mix control. And the headphone out has plenty of level and is not the 3.5mm but the good quality 1/4 inch phone jack which I appreciate. The volume control for the monitor out is a very awesome feature! Also the build quality is terrific. I like things mounted in metal. The only thing I would change would be adding a power switch. However this is not a big deal. And I still am giving it a five ***** star rating! PreSonus Rocks!

Audiobox i2

By Brett Lapierre from Othello, WA on July 24, 2019

This is the first new recording equipment I have purchased in quite some time. I used PreSonus Firepods and a desktop PC for the last 10. After experiencing debilitating latency issues on that setup I decided to upgrade. The Audiobox i2 with Studio One 4 artist looked like a good deal.

As far as the Audiobox is concerned it seems to work fine, and is well built. I have to track down the source of some nasty sounding static that is only present when using the Audiobox. I am using a power conditioner and new USB Cable that came with the audiobox, new PreSonus Eris 3.5 monitors, and brand new speaker cable and still experiencing annoying white noise. I am sure I will resolve that issue soon enough.

After spending an entire day watching Tutorials on Studio One I finally feel comfortable navigating through the menus and should be quite proficient before too long. I think they did a great job of making the process easy to learn and understand. It comes with some cool Plug ins, and effects but I was not impressed with PreSonus lame drum loops that came with it. I was looking for Rock/Blues drum loops, and I can find one (1) good loop, the rest is pathetic techno/electronic drum sounds that are useless for me.
I bought it for recording so I can overlook the useless loops, I"ll just buy EZ Drummer and I"ll be off in a cloud of dust.

I have been working with this for a couple of weeks. Lots to learn but their online videos really help. I was able to start recording in a matter of a few hours. very good recording quality

By David Lapenson on February 7, 2018

This is a great value. I use it to record an electric piano, using a Windows 10 computer. And it works very well. I've used cheaper brands before, that don't have great quality, and little or no support, so can I appreciate the good support the AudioBox has. And more user friendly. It's great using a higher quality item with good support.

By Sweetwater Customer on December 15, 2016 Music Background: Guitar player, studio owner

Great dual channel pre. Using it with an iPhone 6 Plus. Had to buy an 12 volt iPad charger because the iPhone charger wasn't powerful enough. Have to put the iPhone to sleep then plug in iTwo into it and then the iPhone video works great as the iTwo feeds it audio...pristinely from my Studio Live master out...smile. The iTwo has two line/mic inputs. It seems that every other device, excluding the Line 6 Sonicport VX, doesn't have two line inputs. The iTwo has twim controls and overload LEDs, where the SonicPort doesn't. Love this preamp and I can now use my iPhone for video guitar demos or lessons.

I chose the PreSonus AudioBox iTwo for mobile recording and traveling. It interfaces with my iPad beautifully and the sound is superb! I hope that in the future, PreSonus figures out a way to allow simultaneous recording and iPad charging. Until then, I will work around that. I totally recommend this device for mobile recording.

So far so good

By Bobby Day from Ontario, OR on March 2, 2015 Music Background: Artist, Musician, Producer, Recording Engineer.

I am an independent rap/hip-hop artist/producer/engineer from Oregon with about 10 years experience in music production. I have been using the original Presonus Audio Box for the past couple years. The original Audio Box worked great and still does. My reason for the upgrade is mainly because I wanted to record at a little higher resolution (88.2/96k). In addition to the higher resolution recording capabilities, there are a few design upgrades that helped my decision of sticking with Presonus vs other brands. First off, it is a sleek new design that looks really nice and is built really solid. Presonus also added line level inputs with a hi z button, a big main volume knob, and the headphone out is now on the front. Just like the first Audio Box they kept the mix knob which in my opinion is very useful and a wise choice. The iTwo can also be used with the iPad which was not my reason for the purchase but is a nice little feature to have. At this time I have only owned the unit for a few weeks but I have not really had any issues. I have recorded a few tracks with it and finished a song that was started with the older Audio Box. This unit does sound pretty damn good. Just like the older one, the preamps are nice, clean, and clear. However, it seems that the new Audio Box has a little less gain and then when you have it almost all the way turned up there is a very noticeable jump in volume level. It's not really a big deal but was just something I found odd. It has produced very clean recordings for me and I have been in love with Studio One ever since I started using it a few years back. I used to use Sonar which is a great program as well but once I started getting into Studio One I never really looked back. One last thing is that I have noticed an occasional audible glitching noise (kind of like a crackle or popping noise) but I am thinking that it is probably just my computer or internet because it has only happened while I am online. It is not a loud noise and it has never happened during recording (I do not record while connected to the internet and do not recommend doing so because that puts added strain on your CPU). The only reason I mention this is because I never noticed any glitching with the original Audio Box. But overall I would have to say that I am very happy with it. Presonus is an awesome company and makes really nice and high quality products. I would highly recommend this product and if you haven't tried Studio One, you are missing out on an amazing DAW. This is $$$ well spent.

Ergonomics? Hmmm

By Sweetwater Customer on February 8, 2022

I'm not go into details of how well it works. It does everything I need it to. Others have made technical reviews. BUT when will all these manufacturers realize that putting the headphone jack right next to the tiny headphone volume knob drives me (and my friends) to distraction! Stick the socket on the back so I can get my big clumsy fingers round the volume knob!

Highly recommended

By Allan from New York/Philippines on May 3, 2020 Music Background: Singer/pianist for over 14 years.

Been using this gear for over a week now and it's awesome.
Firstly, the sound on my stream is very high quality.
I basically use my yamaha MG06x mixer where my keyboard and and shure wireless are connected.
I use the left and right out of my mixer to the left and right in of the audiobox and it works very well.
Just putting it out there if ever somebody is thinking of that kind of set up.
Now here are my pros.

1. Audio quality is super Good for live stream/recording videos.
For a singer pianist like me, audio quality is important. Just gotta listen carefully to the sound and watch over clipping.

2. Very low or almost 0 noise.

When everything is connected, there isn't much distractions that can be heard making the stream smooth and clean.

3.
Solidly built/ good connectivity.

It's basically plug and play out of the box.
Connected it right away to my iphone 8.

Cons.
1. Headphone out for monitoring is only on mono so at least for me, it's a bit hard for me to monitor my mix.

2.

It doesn't charge my phone while it's connected to the box.
I mean it's fine.
I just wish it can be possible maybe someday.
But as an alternative i can use a camera adapter so that i can charge and use the box at the same time.

Over all, i'm enjoying the great quality of sound that i'm getting from this gadget and i hope this will last a long time.
Thanks to Chris Mccown for recommending such worth it products for musicians like me.

Simple and trouble-free

By Jay from USA on February 3, 2020 Music Background: Composer and engineer

I've used various audio interfaces for my Mac and my iDevices over the years, but I wanted one device that I could use for both. It needed to be portable, but also have enough inputs and outputs for my needs. The PreSonus AudioBox iTwo fit the bill. Its interface is clear, although the knobs are plastic and feel like they could break off easily. It worked flawlessly on my Mac from the moment I plugged it in, with no additional software needed (although PreSonus gives you a lot of it if you want). And it worked perfectly with my iPad as well. The only drawback is that it does need external power to work with iDevices. The iPad's charger and cable work, but the iPad itself won't charge when plugged into the AudioBox. So make sure your device has enough power beforehand if you're doing field recording.

Precious Memery

By Wai on May 19, 2018 Music Background: Game Music Producer

Used this audio interface for many songs, and it totally worth the money... It has enough features to do some good music while I think its preamps are little to dark for my taste compare to my RME BABYFACE PRO, and a little digital-ish sounding compare to my FOCUSRITE 2I4. But still, it does its job in my career, so I will always remember it though I sold it already.

PreSonus AudioBox iTwo and Studio One DAW

By Mike from Los Angeles on April 12, 2018 Music Background: Very little

I previously bought the TC Helican correct XT and needed an interface to connect it to my computer for use with a DAW. The fantastic Mr. James Shilliday suggested the PreSonus iTwo. This worked great for what I needed and the price was reasonable, which were my criteria. It was very easy to hook up, just plug in the microphone (in my case the TC Hellicon correct XT) and connect the iTwo to the computer with the included cord. I had some issues with changing the settings on Windows 10, but found a YouTube video for that. Mainly watch your volume settings (which is really all this unit does) and you"ll be fine. I was listening for any noise that might be created and heard none.

However, Studio One DAW is a different animal. It comes free with the iTwo. I"m a novice and this software requires reading the user"s manual (who reads that?), watching some videos, repeat, repeat, repeat, etc. I"ve been playing around with this for a couple of days and starting to get some understanding of its use. It"ll take me a few months to get some kind of working knowledge of it. Before this, I played around with Audacity for a couple of days, which was much easier, but I"m told Studio One is much better.

I didn"t give the hardware a very high grade because it was a rather simple interface so I had little expectations and I don"t completely understand the software so can"t decide if it"s great or that I"m a big dummy. But I give Mr. Shilliday a 10!

Fantastic, but not Flawless

By Sweetwater Customer on February 14, 2017

I've been using the Audiobox iTwo as part of my permanent PC setup for about eight months, and I used it on and off for around 20 months before that. So, here's my opinion of it.

PROS:
-Two audio inputs
-Supports standard instrument and microphone cables.
-Supports 48v devices.
-On board volume control for all inputs/outputs, + input/output mix control.
-Supports Midi in/out.
-Stereo speaker output and headphone output.
-Supports PC/Mac and iOS devices.
-Zero noise on recordings.

CONS:
-No USB Midi support.
-Noisy audio output to headphones.
-Mono audio output only to device.

OVERALL:
Although it's not flawless, this thing does a very good job for its price. I don't intend to replace mine until it stops working.

First Interface

By Sweetwater Customer on August 2, 2016 Music Background: Live/Studio Bass Player for 6 years

Main reason for purchase was to have for JamKazam. Super easy to use and the sound is clean and clear. Gain structures aren't the best, but keep in mind the price of the unit!

This is a great pre-production tool thats quite affordable for any musician.

A very solid interface made for iOS

By Marc C. from Montreal, QC on April 22, 2016 Music Background: Professional musician

I use the AudioBox iTwo primarily as a MIDI interface for our keyboard player. It's connected to an iPad Mini 2, running BS-16i and several soundfonts. It's instantly recognized by the iPad, and gets the job done perfectly. I've also tried as an interface for JamUp and Bias FX on the iPad Mini, and it's the same story... an easy hookup and a solid, low-latency connection. I also like the really big output volume knob... very convenient.

The only reason I'm not scoring it 5 stars is because it requires a USB power source, and does not also offer the possibility of a wallwart connection, nor the possibility of running on bus power from the iPad, the way many small interfaces can. But it's a solid and full-featured interface that requires no other device to function with iThings.

Very good interface

By Sweetwater Customer from United States on January 31, 2015

Using this on a MacBookPro9,2 running OSX Yosemite 10.10.2 with no issues at all. Using KRK RPM5's as monitors.

I picked this interface because of the 5 pin MIDI i/o and the 24/96 sample rate, because I like to sample and play older external gear.

Pros: The body of the unit is very sturdy with lots of sexy aluminum and nice rubber feet already attached. So far everything has been plug n play with no issues. Comes with a great DAW if you register on their site. Great free iPad app that transfers your recordings to the DAW over wifi with one click. The audio quality is great and it pushes all the way through to the monitors.

Cons: The knobs fee cheap and have a satin finishing that makes them almost slippery and harder to turn and harder to see the indicator lines. When used with an iPad the function of the iPad turning off the sound after a few seconds of not being used gets translated through to the monitors. On the smaller KRK monitors it's a little bit of popping. If I'd had it running through the RPM 10 3's I'd probably have duced my pants and possibly damaged the monitors.

Conclusion: Great interface for the price. The ability to record on the iPad at this sample rate and then dump it over wifi to the DAW is awesome and I can't wait to use it more. Hopefully a firmware update will fix the popping in the near future.

close, but not quite.....

By trawglodyte from my cave on December 22, 2023 Music Background: hack

I'm still using an old PreSonus Audiobox USB. I love it for the 5 analog knobs on the front, especially the mix knob which many interfaces don't offer.

I also love the dual mic/line inputs, but I have one gripe... The mic/line inputs should be on the back. The headphone jack should be on the front.

I don't think my setup is unique. The interface primarily drives a pair of Audio Engine speakers which I use for all sound from my computer. Recording is secondary, but I do keep a microphone hooked up at all times and record several times/week.

On a desk with a computer we attach our microphone to the back. Attaching it to the front makes for an awkward cable sticking out and taking up valuable desktop space. On the other hand it would be nice to plug/unplug the headphones from the front!

PreSonus came close to getting it right with the AudioBox Go by placing the inputs on the back and headphone jack on the front, but it only has one mic/line input and the other one is line only. I want the option of running two mics. Even for podcasting with one voice it can be nice to create a stereo image that matches your head movement for the video.

PreSonus, please make my dreams come true and give us an interface with two mic/line inputs, USB, and speaker outs on the back. The headphone jack and 4 analog knobs we love on the front. 48V phantom is a bonus, doesn't matter which side the button is on. Thank YOU!!

It worked right out of the box. The Audiobox iTwo seems to be a solid product. It gives more options than the Audiobox iOne or Audiobox USB.

Goood Clean Sound

By Bob from SC on October 7, 2015 Music Background: Many years of gigging and recording

The PreSonus AudioBox iTwo is a well made with excellent sound. With two inputs and two outputs, it is more flexible than a single input device. I found the sound to be very clear and clean with virtually no hiss even at high gain levels. Although you can get free recording software with this product, it can be used with other software. I use it with the HarmonicDog MultiTrack and it works just fine. This device does not require drivers to work with an iPad.

My main disappointment with the product is that it requires more power than the iPad can provide. Each time I ran a cable from the USB output to the lightning input, the iPad responded with a message "Accessory Unavailable - the accessory uses too much power". I have to run a cable from the USB output of the PreSonus to a power supply, then run a cable from the device output of the PreSonus to the iPad. This requires being near a wall outlet to record, or using an external power supply. Also, I had to turn the gain on the inputs up to about 2 o'clock to get an acceptable level, and turn the headphones almost all the way up to hear the signal. All of this is fine for recording at home, but not to take to a practice session. I'll just get a USB mic for that.

It’s Okay

By James Fixx from USA on March 30, 2018 Music Background: Recording, mixing, electronic production

I bought this as an upgrade from the Focusrite Scarlett Solo. I wanted to be able to record two mics at once and have separate speaker and headphone outs, and I was drawn to the plugin package. After living with it for 6 months, I stepped up to the Audient iD14. Here"s why: the preamps on this device just don"t sound very good. They amplify a microphone, but they don"t do the sound any favors — that is to say, you will need more EQ to get a good sound than you would from an Audient pre or even a more upscale PreSonus box. That being said, it"s very inexpensive, and comes with an incredible array of plugins which are worth more than the price on their own. I still use the plugins that came with this interface all the time. Whether this device is for you depends on what you want to get out of your $.

bought an open-box unit. all features worked well, but be aware, this unit does not charge the iPad, which is unfortunate, but not a deal-breaker for me. what made me send it back was that when you turn the iPad screen off (or it turns itself off) after a few seconds it turns back on and tries to charge, which fails, then the screen goes off, and then it tries to charge again and turns back on, ad infinitum! maybe my unit was bad but i tried to get support and someone had already registered my serial number (again, i bought it open-box) so i returned it. made me realize though that really i do want an iOS interface that charges the iPad, otherwise it's not really a professional product, is it? having the batteries dying in the studio, no thanks.

Issues.... Just issues...

By Stephen Mills from Riverton, UT on December 29, 2020

I'll be first to admit that the issues I face with this piece of hardware could be user interface (me)...

That being said...

the inputs on my device have a distorted sound on to them on clean settings (I sound like a robot when I just want to hear is my clear voice), I have to turn the gain up almost all the way in order to get sound and as a result I get more background hum (and I ain't using cheap mics or guitars so I have doubts it's an impedance issue), and to top it all off I've found many people with the same problems but either Presonus doesn't have good answers or they're in some obscure place where we just can't find them.

So......

To fix all of this I just bought a Scarlett. Problems Solved.

Does not trickle charge, as claimed

By Sweetwater Customer from Boston MA on June 6, 2017

There are frequent complaints that the PreSonus hookup specifications result is a slow DISCHARGE of your iPad battery. (Google "PreSonus iTwo charging.") PreSonus claim that the iTwo trickle chargies the iPad is NOT true, at least with regard to my iPad Pro. Even when employing all the suggested conservation methods, the battery is depleted in a little over an hour. You cannot use it for longer recordings. PreSonus has known about this for more than a year and has done nothing.

Doesn't do stereo, poor level control

By Sweetwater Customer on January 29, 2017

The input channels on this device have no panning capability. This will not let you do stereo input to your iOS device, but rather a dual mono sum of the inputs. If only using one input, the max you get out of it is about -20dB, and you get the same on both channels.

known problem with gain controls

By Sweetwater Customer on October 3, 2023

great at first but eventually a known issue arose with the gain not working correctly

this is a known problem that Presonus has not addressed for over a year

Fickle Not as Easy as Advertised

By Sweetwater Customer on December 30, 2020

It sounds great! Record using your ipad interface. Use their software. Record quickly.

Well..

Headphones wouldn't connect on record but will on playback. Sound is fine.
Other forums say "Playback disappeared but I can hear recording"
If you do get this, use audacity. Do NOT use their Capture software.
They do have tech support which is nice, but it's email only and take a couple days to respond. They do follow up if you don't respond though.

Would not recommend.

One Major Issue

By Christopher from Des Moines, IA on July 26, 2023 Music Background: Musician/Songwriter

Monitor Output is incredibly low in volume. I have a pair of powered monitors & while connected to the AudioBox, it's not louder then a whisper. These speakers work great with other devices. So disappointed in this interface and PreSonus's support.

On the plus side, the headphone Jack works well and my keyboard worked well connected to the MFi (USB) port.

Not worth it for me.

By Alain H. from Canada on December 27, 2018

Sound quality isn't that great (noisy preamps and slight ground loop hum from USB power cable when plugged in computer), but worse is the fact that the direct no latency monitoring is in MONO only !
Useless to me, because I record both channels at once in stereo and can't hear it in stereo, even though it will record two separate tracks in my DAW. I have to use the latency software monitoring of my DAW in order to hear everything in stereo.

What's the use of offering zero latency direct monitoring if it's in mono only ????
Waste of money.

Awful distortion and loud, glitchy static noises

By Abigail on September 22, 2018

I'm really disappointed with this product. In Ableton, when I record guitar, the dry signal is fine. As soon as I add any processing, there's distortion, it sounds bitcrushed, and.. honestly, it's tough to describe the noise entirely.

So I try it with presonus's software. In this case, there is a loud, robotic, glitchy noise with a ton of static, and any audio is very distorted too. If I add effects, it gets even worse.
I'm really bummed about about this. I'll contact tech support first, but if there isn't a solution, I'll be returning this as soon as possible and looking elsewhere.

A HUGE WASTE OF MONEY

You buy this thinking is will be a breeze. Nope! Three days of trying to get support because PreSonus's own interface won't connect to it's own program. It never got resolved. The Artist version that comes with this won't let you use 3rd party plug ins. Nope that's an expensive upgrade if you want that and since this interface comes with the software you can't return it. How clever. It must be nice to give someone junk that they can't return. I had to buy another interface from Behringer of all companies and that worked with the Studio One upgrade but Studio One Professional is way over complicated and the manuals are sadly lacking in explanations like they were written for people that already know how to use their system and you will never find that one video that ever tells you what you need to know. My whole experience with PreSonus was sour to say the least. I'll stick with my Roland 2400. Better sounding and much easier to use! Thanks for nothing PreSonus!
