Great, easy to use hard drive
I have been using this Glyph Atom for a couple of months, this is my first SSD drive. This is easy to use, runs silently, and the transfer speeds are quick when saving large Logic files. The green light is a nice touch, it blinks when active and tells me when I can safely soft "eject" the disk before unplugging. I keep this at my workstation and quickly backup my updated song files at the end of each session.
Perfect replacement
I'm a Pro Tools and Apollo Twin user who recently upgraded my older iMac to a new MacBook Pro. I needed a new external drive to replace an older G-drive where my sessions are stored. The Glyph Atom has worked flawlessly with no issues since I transferred my library. It's small and portable. I'm very happy with it.
Space Saver
This is the second time that Sweetwater humble me to listen to them. When I first started recording music, the sale engineers kept trying to convince me that I need an audio interface. I was stubborn to believe that I don't need one. I finally listen ... how was I trying to record music without it. Now they just offer this hardware to me, which I knew that I was not going to like it and return it back. After using this thing, I want another one. Thank you, Sweetwater, for being patient with me. I can be a little hard headed (okay, a lot), but Sweetwater always take the time to be patient with me to help me to get what I need

Glyph Atom 1 TB SSD (Fast)
Bought this for my M1 Mac Mini (Silicon) (Big Sur) and it works flawlessly. I always edit using external drives to keep the "boot" drive from filling up. A very fast drive!
My 8 TB Glyph Raid is (which I also bought from Sweetwater) which I've been using for 2 years is what sold me on Glyph.

If you are in the fence about buying an external SSD to help out with your software synth and sample playback, jump over to the side of "yes" because you are wasting valuable time. You will realize you always needed this once you use it. Purchased this Glyph drive to go along with Ableton 10 Suite upgrade. I could have gone with the 500GB for my current purposes, but if the bigger capacity is affordable, go for it.
Paired with a 2018 Mac Mini, you could just get 2 or 3 Glyph drive and make your life way easy with all the USB-C ports.
The drive itself is physically smaller than my first android phone in 2010. The rubber sheath means that moving stuff around on the desk will not result in extra shock. The only thing missing, would be some sort of locking mechanism to keep you from unplugging from the drive itself, but also I have yet to fear this...it is in anticipation of having this 1 TB Glyph Atom SSD USB-C for years to come.
Nick of Time
I have been upgrading a 10 year old laptop for online work. I had been putting a lot of software on it-- geeking out and buying a lot of essential stuff. As an afterthought I got this SSD drive. This morning something appeared to go wrong and the drive apparently recovered it. I am still checking on that. In the meantime the drive is SSD, it is super small and it works seamlessly with time machine on my Mac Book Pro. The setup was super easy and I can view the contents of the drive without effort and see each days back up. I love products that do what they claim they will without me needing to take a class!! So, I recommend this product.
Excellent External Drive for Mac !!
I am one 'happy camper'. Brian VanDeKeere suggested this for me to work with my MacBook Pro as an external drive for my larger plugins. What a way to help my laptop CPU during sessions! I installed Komplete 11 Ultimate and Omnisphere 2 sound libraries onto the Glyph Atom with healthy room to spare ... which is why Keyscape will be included in a few days when it arrives. I'm so pleased with the speed, and the Atom is smaller in width than my iPhone, which frees up desk space. YEP ... you may have guessed it ... I ordered another one which I will use for recording my Pro Tools sessions to. I highly recommend these drives for the purposes I've shared in this review. Thanks, Brian!
Works Well
So far, this drive has preformed well. Lots of room for storage, and it's fast enough to relay the data from recordings without skips, scratches, and all the other annoying things that happen with slow data transfer and lack of memory.
Very happy, does the job
I got the 1T glyph to reorganize my computer and external hd setup; had grown unwieldy over the years and had too many old disc drives slowing my system down; very pleased with my choice; like it's not there; seems to be pretty fast also; just plugged in and began using.
does what it's supposed to do
I can be a little dense, so maybe I don't notice, but it seems like a regular old hard drive to me. I don't necessarily observe faster transfer speeds, etc. but it serve's our church's Mac mini with the storage needed to house our track stems to run Ableton and I have no issues at all. I'm a fan of low/no maintenance!
