Infinitely Tweakable Flanger with Classic Analog Sound
The D16 Group Antresol flanger plug-in drenches your guitar riffs and synth lines in a rich character that harkens back to those familiar bucket brigade device-style effects stompboxes of yesteryear. Essentially a delay feedback loop controlled by an LFO generator, Antresol delivers everything from subtle thickening to swirling jet plane effects. Antresol's hardware emulation is remarkable - it's clear that D16 Group went to great pains to model every aspect of the analog circuitry that inspired its design. Antresol goes beyond mere imitation, however. Almost all of Antresol's parameters are tweakable, allowing you to shape your sound in a multitude of ways.

The first time we fired up Antresol here at Sweetwater, we were struck by its exquisite sonic characteristics - D16 Group clearly has BBD modeling nailed. That being said, it's Antresol's wide range of tweakable parameters and fully controllable LFO that really set it apart. You can adjust Antresol's LFO offset, rate, and depth or simply sync it to your DAW. You can adjust the delay line's buffer length, LFO-to-clock voltage curve, and range, as well as the feedback loop's values, allowing for endless manipulation of Antresol's tonal personality. Antresol provides you with control over its stereo mode and crosstalk, and each channel can be processed separately or linked together. A low-cut filter and wet/dry mixing add to Antresol's flexibility.
Intuitive interface is easy to navigateWith so many parameters to tweak, you might think that Antresol is difficult to operate. But that's not the case. Antresol is divided into modules, making it easy to follow the flow of your signal. When your signal first enters Antresol, it flows through Preamp, M/S Mode, and Ch. X-Fade modules. It then reaches the True BBD, BBD Length, LFO-to-Clock Voltage Curve, and Range modules. After that it flows through the Feedback Value module. Finally, it passes through a Low Cut Filter and FX section. All the while, you can manipulate the signal using clearly laid out LFO parameters.
BBD (Bucket Brigade Device) - a brief definitionA bucket brigade device (or BBD) is a discrete-time analog delay integrated circuit developed in 1969 by the Philips Research Labs. The device consists of a series of capacitors. Analog audio signal moves along the line of capacitors, one step per clock cycle. Even though BBD chips have been superseded as far as maximum capacity, reliability, and transparence by digital delays, many musicians swear by the warmer, darker tone of analog delay.
