Audiophile Sound for Your Computer M-Audio is known throughout the professional recording world for building some of the most accurate studio monitors on the market. With the Studiophile AV 20, you can enjoy this same technology in a portable, powered speaker that is the perfect addition to any home computer or laptop. Designed specifically for today's multimedia computers, the AV 20s feature a unique angled cabinet that creates an accurate listening environment even when you're short on desk space. Dedicated Drivers and Professional Components Comprising a 2" composite woofer, 1" ferrofluid-cooled Mylar dome tweeter and an internal Class D amplifier, the Studiophile AV 20 is designed to deliver solid bass, crisp highs and convincing realism while occupying only a fraction of the space of standard desktop speakers. And with sturdy, magnetically shielded cabinets, the AV 20s can coexist with all manner of computer monitors, TVs and other electronic equipment without interference. OptImage III Technology The Studiophile AV 20 features M-Audio's proprietary OptImage III wave guide, which improves high-frequency response while minimizing phasing issues that can plague other portable monitors. It also time-aligns the tweeter and the woofer so the audio from each driver reaches the listener at the same time, guaranteeing precise stereo imaging and accurate response. May 16, 2010 Music Background: Hobbyist Best affordable monitors
by Dallas Tatebayashi from Omaha, NE USA
Feature:February 28, 2008 Music Background: Hobbyist They have some good features like the protection called output current limiting that protects the drivers from blowing them out when you turn them up loud. So I don't ever have to worr... read more [+]y about damaging these monitors. But all other M-Audio monitors have this feature. Plus it has a voltage selector so you can use these monitors in a different country and also that have a fuse inside the monitors but you will have to remove the cover to see that fuse and to replace it. The other cool feature it has is that the tweeters point towards you when you have them on your desk so you don't have to level them to your ears like normal monitors. Quality: These are build very well and durable they are pretty heavy for there size but all that means is the parts inside are good. They use MDF type enclosure like other M-Audio monitors and use the same high tech stuff that other M-Audio monitors use. Value: They are worth every penny since they are built well and durable and use good parts inside. Desirability: They look really attractive and nice since they have that angle shape so the tweeters point towards your ears when you place them on your desktop. Sound: I really like how these sound for the price I mean they do make clear low punchy bass and clear highs. The mids are good too. They really sound like a miniture studio monitor. Ease of Use: It's very simple to use you just turn the volume control clockwise and the power goes on and just keep turning them until they are loud enough for you. It's very simple to connect the monitors to your computer or MP3 player etc. They come with a RCA cord that converts to normal male type headphone jack. Support: The tech support is very helpful that know alot about there products and can guide you to help fix any issues you have with M-Audio products. Only thing I don't like is the wait time is very long and could take acutaly upto 40 min depending how busy they are to talk to them. Overall: I also like these since they are very slender and don't take up space at all. Remember thay are only like 5 watts per channel so they can't go really loud like bigger speakers can but if you have them at normal volume they sound great but if you turn them too loud they will start to distort. But you don't have to worry about blowing them since they have the protection called output current limiting. close [-] The Little Monitors That Can!
