awesome
thank you- I love you guys!
Very nice for the price!
Earlier this year I bought a set of these headphones to accompany a new Yamaha keyboard as a gift for my son. We set up the keyboard temporarily in my office until he could arrange room for it in his own place, during which time I made frequent use of both!
My last pair of quality headphones reached end of life a couple of years ago and I have been getting by with a pair of what I thought to be decent, but over the ear padded headphones made for computer use - all I could purchase locally.
The ATH-M20x fit perfectly, comfortably, and sounded terrific when used with the new keyboard. But the moment I first plugged them into my personal music system I realized how much I had missed by not having a good set of circumaural headphones around!
I am not an audiophile, but a music lover and very amateur musician, and for my own use these headphones are outstanding! Terrific sound quality for the price, comfortable fit and weight, ten foot cord and 1/8 to 1/4 adapter included. Highly recommended!
My son recently moved his keyboard and headphones to their permanent new home, but with a little help from my Sweetwater sales engineer, I now have a new keyboard of my own and a second set of ATH-M20x headphones! I must have another birthday coming along soon...
Performance per Dollar
I purchased the ATH-M20x headphones for my 8-year-old grandson who is learning to play piano with a Casio CT-S1 61-key Portable Keyboard. My criteria were: keyboard compatible, rugged, inexpensive, comfortable, and satisfactory sound reproduction. It was important that the headphone impedance matched the keyboard output power. These headphones met all of my criteria and the sound reproduction is much better than I had expected. I am used to audiophile headphones from AKG and Sennheiser, nevertheless, I was impressed with the audio reproduction from the inexpensive ATH-M20x headphones. No, they do not sound better than my expensive headphones, but I got exactly what we needed and wanted, which is why I rated the ATH-M20x headphones with five stars.
Headphones
As always great recommendation. Love them
Super!
This headphone does the job perfectly. I'm very happy with it!
Does the job
No problems with these so far. They seem reasonably well-balanced compared to the built in speakers and other headphones.
Great Headphones
Very good sound and comfort for the price. I would highly recommend these if you don't want to spend hundreds on headphones. Great and fast service as usual with a follow up call to make sure you are satisfied with your order.
Headphones
I live in an apartment and I needed some headphones for in the wee hours in the morning when I feel the need to write music. Love my headphones crisp and clear!
I would recommend the Audio-Technica ATH-M20x Closed-back Monitoring Headphones!
Audio technical- two thumbs up
Best all around headphones I have owned. Sorry no complaints. I have owned the for 4 years now, still in great shape. Use them for practice everyday.
Awesome Headphone!
Worth the price, really bring the quality of the sounds!
Great Price for Quality Sound
I was looking for an inexpensive, yet quality-sound headphones to replace my old...and I mean OLD... pair. I found them with these M20x's. They are comfortable to wear during the 3-4 hours at a time that I have them on, and the sound is amazing. They are pretty good at blocking out the ambient noise from other instruments and idle chatter from my bandmates. Love 'em!
These sound tremendous
There are a lot of good reviews of these headphones, and also some that say they're not worth the hype. I bought them, and they are worth the hype. They sound amazing. I find them to be very comfortable. The cord is long enough, they are well-built, but lightweight, and most importantly, again the sound is tremendous. So for this price point I don't think you can do any better
Only an hour after purchase
I'm not blown away by them but very happy with them. For $50, they sound really good as loud as I want them. The dB levels 12KHz+ (guessing 12k) are higher than the lower frequencies. So a little less bass but real nice highs. Great for electric guitar and completely fine for general use with Spotify or the like.
Great everyday use
I use these to listen to different therapeutic frequencies, as well as for mixing. They're much more "noise cancelling" than I expected. At this price range, they're a solid first buy! And sweetwater customer service is the best.
Ath-M20x headphones
These headphones work fine for plugging into my amps for silent playing and not disturbing the wife. Thanks to Ben Porter and the Sweetwater team for fast great service!
You won’t regret these headphones
These honestly have really crisp sound, I was using much more expensive headphones and I can't tell the difference to be honest. Definitely impressed.
Quality budget headphones
Audio Technica knows headphones, and these don't disappoint. They deliver a nice presentation of sound without audio fatigue. The lows have a nice thump and the highs are crisp. Depth is well delivered as well. Autumn Interlude by Amethystium is a favorite test, as is Bach's Brandenburg #2. Sweetwater knows audio gear. These headphones were part of a bundle that I decided to go for AFTER getting the headphones by themselves. Well, such is the life of a nascient hobbyist musician in his 60's.
A good value
Don't let the review title fool you: these are not just a good value; they are an excellent value.
Great value
For the price I am blown away by the quality and sound. They are comfortable, noise cancelling, and they really crank! I have decent headphones, but I never knew what I was missing. Good Job!
Headphones
Really good headphones. Mine got better after they broke in.
Great sounding headphones.
Thank you
Exactly what I wanted.
The specifications for these headphones were nearly identical to a pair I purchased for more money years ago. The 40mm gives them very good bass response as does the closed back. Being ergonomically designed, the ear pieces fit me better than any others I have tried on. Owning a microphone from this company and having owned phonograph cartridges from them, I had every confidence these headphones were going to be good. They are.
Amateur fool proof
I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to these things. My editor suggested these and they work great with my new Yeti. Sweet water was amazing and I know great customer service when I get it. Keep up the good work guys!
Great Quality for Price!
- good dynamic range
- converter at the end is a +
- long cord
- comfortable
- great sound quality
Solid sound
Great sound quality and comfortable.
I'm not ignoring you
I'm new to this home recording venture, and I needed something better than just the Work Tunes headset that I had. These are very reasonably priced, and after 4 months of use, they have held up well.
These are not noise cancelling, but they block the distractions while I am recording and editing. My honey has learned that she needs to flick the light on and off to get my attention.
I'm sure there are higher-priced ones available, but for starters, these are all I need.
Great price, great service from Sweetwater.
Thanks for all you folks do!!
Listen up!
These headphones are exactly what I needed. Light on my head, heavy on performance. Makes audio editing much easier. Price, shipping, and service rounded out a great purchase.
Love,Love.Love
I just love my new headphone's they stop just about all outside sounds just enough that if the wife needs me I can hear her.
Audio-Technica ATH-M20
These headphones are fantastic. Great clarity of sound and comfortable
Headphones
The headphones are working perfect for our piano group class.
Extremely good quality sound
This works excellently for my work as a composer, with all the sounds I work with clearly audible. They're also quite comfortable, and don't pinch my head like my last pair of headphones. That and the easy to manage cord earnt these headphones a 5 star rating.
Audio-Technica
These Headphones were perfect for our Beginning students. We just Launched a Mini Maestro Piano course and these headphones are excellent for the price. The purchase was without any troubles and were implemented to are Piano lab with time to spare .
Thank so Much To the great Sweetwater Team.

Comfortable fit amazing sound for the price
These headphones are a comfortable fit keeps out noise and the sound is extremely clear. You get a lot of quality for the price. I like the lenth of the cord gives you plenty of mobility
Excellent Headphones
These headphones have a real good sound. Excellent entry level product.
A Good Purchase
I needed a pair of phones that didn't bleed the click track into my acoustic guitar tracks and these work really well. They also have a nice midrange boost that's good for vocals that aren't covered up with enhanced highs and lows. They work! I'm happy with them for my purposes.
Headphones
Very good quality at a very good price
Work flawlessly. Great Job Sweetwater.
Purchased for my wife who is hearing impaired. Comfortable and noise cancelling. Gives her the joy of hearing music, watching movies. With her Hearing Aids, and these, a whole world has been opened back up.
Great Headphones
They sound great, fit comfortable, and are reasonably priced.
Great!
These are excellent headphones. I would not call myself an audiophile by any means. I'm using these with GarageBand and with a Vox headphone amp. To my ears, they sound fantastic! Major upgrade over my previous phones. Good price and good quality. Recommended.
Multiple purchases
Within the last year I've purchased 4 electric guitars, 2 amps, headphones and other accessories. Mason and the rest of the staff have been great with customer service and shipped. Thanks guys & ladies.
Great Recommendation
Another pair I was looking at was sold out, so Bryan Leo recommended these. They block out most outside noise. They perform well plugged into a guitar amp or music player. I find them comfortable, not hot or pinching anything. I've worn them for hours at a time mixing and fallen asleep wearing them listening to music. They were a little more expensive than plain cheap cans but they're worth it.
Great, Affordable Headphones
I recently purchased these for use with our church sound board. They are high quality and could easily be used in a studio setting also. No complaints thus far!
Hian Kendry
Great product
Just what i needed
Very comfortable, and they sound great. Good bang for the buck and just what i need for practicing guitar in my apartment . I love it and the neighbors appreciate it also.
Great sound, great price.
I do home studio recording. These headphones are my best friend and worst enemy. You'll hear everything.
Very pleased
I've been using these headphones for a week or so, now. Using them for home demo recording / mixing. I'm really pleased with them, so far. They sound great for what I'm doing, are comfortable, and do a nice job isolating ambient sounds. Purchase experience and shipping were also great. Would purchase these headphones again in the future.
Great Headphones
Very pleased with these headphones. I purchased them to use with the Digital Piano.
Happy with my new phones!
Lost my 12 year old AT's ( M30's) to a parking lot radial tire Just after a livestream.....
Found my new ATH-M20x's at Sweetwater - after the "Wake".........
The fit is just great - sound is true and clean, even better isolation - overall results are
just sweet - but from this date forward I'm parking in the street.
Product- very satisfied
Price - GREAT bargain
Service & Delivery- Friendly, Professional, Fast!
Thanks Sweetwater!!
Great Mixing headphones
Best Mixing headphones for the price, good for general use and music as well. would buy it again.
Does the job!
More than satisfactory! I use these to practice my bass without disturbing the household. Exactly what I was looking for. For 50 bucks they are a great value. If you don't really need high-end headphones or want to drop the cash for some, these do quite nicely.
Good Headphones at a Good Price
These headphones are comparable to my much more expensive headphones. Sounds are clear and work great for what I need them for.
Great for the money
Going into ordering I knew these were mid range quality headphones. They are pretty clear and sound great for play back and tracking, but if you're using these on an amp for metal or anything with low end they leave alot to be desired. They are pretty clear and have good mids which is pretty hard to find, but what they have in mids they lack in bass. They sound awesome when youre pushing a clean sound or if you're mixing a track, however they really don't perform well with a ton of low end. Not saying they don't sound good, they could just be better. You definitely cannot eq an amp sound with these, but for some late night quiet practice and the price they definitely are worth the money. I gave them a 5 star review because they are great value and even though they weren't exactly what I was looking for they're still great headphones. Other than some additional bass the only thing I could say I wish they had was a dedicated volume control. However you can't go wrong with these, and you'll have a tough time finding anything that can compete with them for the money.
Excellent Quality
Very good sound quality! The bass sound great.
Excellent value, amazing headphones
I'm the dad to a two year old. I don't get a ton of time to play guitar out loud, so I usually end up opting for headphones while the toddler sleeps.
I was using my nice noise cancelling Bluetooth headphones to play through for a while. They're really great headphones for music but for an amp, not so much. I was experiencing tons of clipping issues and a generally fuzzy sound with almost none of the tone of my amp coming through the phones. I figured some headphones actually made for this type of thing might solve the problem.
Only $50 and two days later and I'm absolutely astounded by the difference these guys have made. Not only can I play silently but I can actually crank my amp through my headphones now and get a full high quality sound. These things are a life saver and we're actually about $20 cheaper than my powered noise cancelling headphones that couldn't handle an amp. These are a must have for silent/private practicing or recording. The best value.
Zach from Sweetwater was also great to work with. I immediately got an email when I placed my order and he was a fantastic help through the whole process. I had some changes I had to make to my order and he cleared it all up and made the overall experience that much better.
AMAZING! I cannot believe what I paid for these
I work from home so I listen to a lot of music and podcasts while working. I wanted something more comfortable than my Beats. These are it. It blocks out a lot of noise which is great and the sound is brilliant. Sweetwater was wonderful to work with and the shipping was so fast. It was really fun to listen to Sgt Pepper because the music goes in and out.
Great sound low price
This is my second set of these. They went to my wife for at home recording. The is clear and precise and aids her in hearing the smallest nuances in a song that help for creating horn licks. The other pair went to a young man I've been teaching to run the sound. We hear everything. I may get a third set for myself
Perfect
I was trying to start a home studio and these headphones were affordable and great quality!!!
Great Headphone
Sound great, feel great and easy on your ear, the cable is long enough.
GREAT JOB/ FROM THE VERY BEGINNING

ATH-M20x Closed-back Headphones
Picked these up for my daughter to have a better listening experience with her devices. Great quality budget headphones.
Great sound
These headphones have great sound. While they don't eliminate ALL external noise, you can bet that while listening, you will not be disappointed.
Great

Good Headphones
These headphones have good sound and fit tight on your ears to block out unwanted noise.
3 years and still going strong
I have been using these headphones for 3 years and I absolutely love them. I love them so much I just bought a second pair for my wife to use during her zoom sessions. She is new to quality sound equipment and loves them so far. She was complaining about being able to hear everyone via her crappy work computer speakers, but with these, she hears every participant!
Recomendable
Cómodos en las orejas.

Customer service by Cole Madley was amazing. Love my gear
Bob Mondock
If everyone did their job with the passion and enthusiasm that Bob has. the world would be a better place. I've never purchased anything big or expensive but I'v always been given the royal treatment. Everything I've ever purchased was perfect! I wish I had a million dollars to purchase gear from Bob. If anyone needs to buy musical gear I whole heartedly recommend they purchase from Sweetwater and ask for Bob Mondock
Pleasantly Surprised
For the price I don't know how you'd do any better.
Great headphones
my studio is near a road and if I am monitoring or mixing the old open headphones didn't really block any of that. These give crisp highs and solid lows and they are comfortable.
Good Choice
I bought these headphones to silence my amp at the house and keep peace with my wife . Headphones sound good for this application and are comfortable .
great headphones
great headphones at a really good price. They are lightweight and don't bother your ears off worn all day.
Just the right starter product
I'm new to voice over work, have a basic starter's setup, and completely satisfied with my AT. Sweetwater delivered it promptly, checked in with me to make sure I was satisfied, and the headphones were just what I needed - affordable, reliable, clear, and compatible with my other gear. Thanks, Sweetwater!
Awesome headphones
Just got an this morning. Even with a holiday i had em a day earlier then expected. My first purchase from Sweetwater and won't be my last. The headphones are comfy if a little tight for a larger head like mine. The sound quality is great. I wouldent hesitate to recommend these to someone looking for a cheaper set of headphones
Great Headphones
Perfect sound reproduction and comfortable to wear.
studio work
bought 9 headphones, by the end of rehearsal their were no complaints from any of the musicians. That in it's self is an accomplishment. Will be buying more when I need them.
pro
big bang for your buck!
Love them!
Great headphones! Really enhances the experience of playing digital piano for my own enjoyment. Product arrived quickly and was packaged nicely, followed up with a call from Sweetwater to make sure everything was cool. Glad I chose to make my purchase here!
Very Happy!
Product exceeds expectations!
Excellent headphones
I chose the Audio-Technica over an AKG due to familiarity with the brand and a slight savings. My wife has the other brand, so i can honestly say that we both agree from experience that this set is absolutely outstanding. It sounds clear, does not distort at any normal listening level and we have used it both for listening to streaming music and my Boss ME-80. It's built very durable, has more than enough length of cable, and rests comfortably. Cannot find a negative. I have been using AT products for about 20 years and i have never had a problem with any of their products, be it this or microphones, etc. Highly recommend it for multiple applications. Also i would like to note that the brand my wife has is absolutely exceptional as well, but we both prefer the AT.
Audio Technica ATH-M20X headphones
Excellent for the price range. Use them for tracking and mixing. I own 4 pairs. Meet my needs well.
comfortable
Great headphones for the money.
Cost effective upgrade
For less than the price of a different brand a bought two of these guys for my home studio. They feel great on your head . The sound is great two. The quality of the materials is first class. No complaints.
So good
I needed a pair of sturdy headphones with great sound on a tight budget. These sound excellent!
Awesome for the very reasonable price
I have ordered lots of gear from Stephen @ Sweetwater over the years & I am always very satisfied!
Thank you Stephen, for all your great service & assistance!
Brian G.
amazing
i have one,its been a year and a half almost,And ive never been more happy that i have spent money on something, more than this
Awesome Headphones
I'd definitely recommend these to anyone wanting cheap, but comfortable headphones with quality sound.
Although it doesn't have noise cancellation, it's the next thing too it when you're listening to music. Does great for playback while recording.
Best for the money.
Really great headphones for the money, on par with my Sennheiser's but half the cost. They're really comfortable and provide great sound for mixing.
Head Phones
I bought these headphones for my son, and he loves the fit and the sound quality of the Audio Technica ATH - M20x headset. Thank you so much for this awesome product! He is a happy bass man!
Great headphones.
Used primarily for Bass guitar practice and they seem to handle the lows very well.
The Best Bang for the Buck!
I was simply amazed by the sound quality of these headphone I will be looking to purchase another pair soon! Thanks to Chris Lewis of Sweetwater!
Great Value
Very comfortable, clear and well balanced, could use these all day. Just the thing when you have a neighbor calling the Sheriff at Mid-day and you're on a tight budget.
Best value for money - Best in its class
Used for 7months and counting...I am extremely satisfied with these.
The headphone is an excellent piece in terms of its build quality and sound clarity. I already own and have used extensively Sennheiser HD201 and HD202 II models. I was looking for an upgrade which I did to my expectations.
The headphones are much louder when used with both PC and my iPod shuffle (as compared to HD201). My main purpose for choosing this product was music mixing and monitoring, and they do excellent job there. Every detail is reproduced as it should be, be it in any frequency range. Bass is crisp, not too boomy, mids and highs are crystal clear with no feel whatsoever of any part being attenuated. Yes, in almost every second song I heard, which I used to hear with HD201, I could find some of other place which was unheard before. The soundstage of these cans is much better than both the sennheiser cans.
The ear cups are large and even big ears fit in very comfortably (as compared to HD202 ||, which is said to be over the ear, but is not so comfortable for long use).
In out-of-home conditions, if it is bit hot, then I found bit of sweating in ears after use of half an hour or so, but in cold of AC/fan, these were extremely comfortable with no heat inside. I used them for 3 hrs at a stretch, multiple times, with no sign of discomfort on my head.
These perform great in canceling the external sounds. In my office it becomes quite noisy at times, due to peers discussing something. I wearing this headphone, sometimes don't even realize if someone is around!
Although very minimal yet there is some sound leakage from these headphones, which can be heard if I record my vocals using a good quality mic. But this leakage is not at all disturbing or annoying.
Build quality is great too. Even after being dropped many times, they are still in same shape, no marks what so ever. Also I keep them loose in my backpack while traveling and they are good to go.
In summary, :
Build quality : Very good
Comfort for long usage : Very good
Sound Clarity : Excellent
Sound stage : Good
Noise cancellation : Good
Sound Leakage: Good
So overall this is the best in its class producing true sound which any sound mixing/mastering engineer can rely upon.
Audio technica
Super nice sound great
Awesome deal
if you are looking for a great set of earphones without breaking the bank, look no further. I was totally blown away by the quality and comfort. and the best of all, is Sweetwater's commitment to price and customer satisfaction.
Superb Headphones
These headphones are very professional looking items plus the quality of the sound it delivers. The most important part is that they are very affordable!
Great, accurate headphones
I've had these headphones for a few years now. They're my go-to for tracking and reference mixing. They're relatively even and flat, neither overly hyped in the lows, nor too sparkly in the highs. You really can't get any better for the price.
AWSOME HEADPHONES!!!!!
GREAT HEADPHONES SPECIALLY FOR THE PRICE!!! I DEFF RECOMMEND THESE TO ANYONE
Excellent sound quality
We purchased these to plug into our sound board at the Church for our worship service. The sound quality is excellent and the construction of the product is great. I would definitely give them the thumbs up!
Very nice head phones
Bought these for home studio recording. I'm liking them a lot. Great sounding and very comfortable phones. Nice long cable. At $50 I feel they're a good bargain and sound better than the $75 pair they replaced. Definitely will pick up a second pair.
Amazing bang for the buck headphones!
I previously had a pair of Audio-Technica ATH-M2X headphones, and while they sounded great, they were not comfortable at all, as they were on-ear headphones. These headphones, however, are amazing. The sound even better, are way more comfortable, and block out 75-90% of outside noise. These are perfect for tracking music or mixing! The price is unbeatable!
Great Started Headphones
Matt in sales really helped me find the right beginner headphones that seem durable, are comfortable and sound really good. I think that these are a good set to start with and you can't beat the price in conjunction with the quality/reliability of the Audio-Technica brand. Solid headphones.
Solid
These are nice headphones that fit snuggly and produce good quality sound for the price
Very good for the money
Ok. So i have been a home recording musician since around 2005. Got my first pair of M20"s back then and wore them out.
Recently bought another pair to use specifically whilst tracking vocals, as i have M50"s for reference, and Adam monitors for mixing. These, in my opinion, are slightly quieter than the 50"s, but have a flatter response, and seal really well for vocal tracking. I get less bleed than with the 50"s, and have little complaints.
If i would change anything, it would be the adapter.... a click in ⅛-¼ is kind of wonky, and at times can crackle, as opposed to the screw in type of adapter. What would be great would be a disconnect, and the option to have a cable for each size, to accommodate any situation; i use ¼ into my interface for monitoring, but ⅛ for tracking in my vocal booth. The really nice extension cables are usually ¼, and it would be nice to have consistency across my signal....
Really small nit, but there it is.
Overall, everyone i ever speak to about closed back phones gets The speech about how much i love Audio Technica, and swear by products like the M20-50 line
Good cans
I use these every day for my radio job. They sound good. They stay on my head. They do a decent job of blocking out background sound. The cord is just the right length and seems durable. These headphone appear elsewhere in my world, at a rehearsal studio where they are rock solid performers. Normally I"m a Sennheiser guy but these have a lot of bang for the buck.
Great headphones
Good bang for your buck. I hear tiny details that normally I wouldn"t hear in other speakers. Great for everyday listening.
Off site
The gear that I purchased last week is for a satellite studio to do podcasting for a friend"s company away from my music recording studio in New York City.
While the gear for this small set up is important, the greater value is in my rep Tim Harrington. He is a professional who was able to answer all the questions I needed. He provide guidance for getting me into the right set up.
Why can't I just give a star rating and be done with it?
The audio quality punches above its price weight, the isolation is pretty good, and the cable is silicone jacketed (as opposed to pvc - very flexible, tends not to kink - rare in this price range).
Great Gift!
First, I should say that this was a gift. So, all I can do here is share what the recipient told me. After a few days of use, my brother (the recipient) called me to say that the headphones that I selected for him were great and that they were perfect for their intended use. Also, that his wife was thrilled that he wasn't blowing up her ears!! What I can say is that I have been shopping at Sweetwater since 2012 and that Matt McKible has always provided me with awesome service. Matt's and Sweetwater's attention and customer service is why I keep coming back. Thank you Matt McKible and Sweetwater!!
Great set of headphones
Enjoy them work really well
Adaptable and Affordable
These are great for monitoring vocals during work or play. They really deaden the ambient sounds, so that I am only hearing what the mic can pick up. Before this, I was reliant on other people's feedback on my mic levels and ambient noise. This has brought my professionalism to the next level!
My only complaint is that they really push my glasses into my temples and it starts to hurt very quickly. I have to either wear my glasses at a weird angle or the headphones. They are only a week old, so I'm hoping they relax with time.
Better than expected
Great every day headphones with much better balance and noise cancelling than a couple other brands costing twice the prics
Great headphones
These headphones are excellent. The fit is comfortable and the sound is accurate. Can't be beat for the price! Kudos to Chris and Sweetwater for the consistently terrific customer service!
Audio-Technica ATH-M20x Headphones
For the price these are the best headphones you can buy.
I have had several over the years, but these out-perform
all of them. I'll be ordering a second pair very soon.
I also purchased a Korg synthesizer last year for my
musician son. He loves it!
Great for the price.
The sound quality is very good for the low price - I've heard headphones up to $ more that sound far muddier than these.
The equalization is also good, as far as I can tell. It sounds flat to me, and captures a nice range of Hz.
They fit snugly and only become uncomfortable when I've been wearing them for 6+ hours.
I haven't encountered a problem with them yet, and if I do, I've got a one year warrenty.
Also, if you like long cables for your headphones, you're getting one that is 10 feet long.
Highly recommended!
Just Right !
If you are looking for a decent priced headset, seeking quality sound and excellent comfort then this is for you. Even after hours of use the ATH-M20x still provides a comfortable fit with the right amount of grip to keep them firmly in place. All padded surfaces are quality material. The cord is soft and well placed. Very light weight .... feels like the weight of a ball cap hat on your head.
Nice sound! Very comfortable
These headphones have exceeded my expectations for this price point. I would buy again.
Very Nice
These are some very good headphones for the price. Very comfortable with a balanced sound response.
Fantastic comfort
I am really surprised at the comfort of these headphone and the sound is great.
I use them mostly to practice with my guitars or my Cigar box guitars.
I wear glasses and I can use theses Audio Tech headphones for long periods of time without any discomfort on the ears.
I have other headphones that I can only wear for maybe 30 minutes before I have to remove them. They fit very tight But, the Audio-Tech phones I can wear from an hour to two hours and have no issue.
Great Comfort and sound and they block 90 percent of outside noise. Best headphones found for under 50 bucks.
Read this Review
I am very impressed with these for the satisfying deep bass response they produce. A week or so ago I purchased the SHURE SRH550DJ phones. They have 50mm drivers which are 10 mm larger than these ATH-M20x, yet these are just as impressive to my ears. I purchased the 550DJ for exclusively for my Guitar / Bass amp practice. I was using them also for the television out jack to watch TV or play a video game to unwind in the other room, but I didn't want to keep unplugging and carrying them from room to room. So I figured I would spend an easy $50 and get a pair for specifically for my entertainment fix. The SHURE phones are priced at $100 and I feel they are worth that price point. Yet these are $50 cheaper and yield a sound experience that to my ears are comparable. While these ATH-M20x are around the ear and the SHURE phones are over the ear in style, to me they are both very satisfying to use. For now I can't think of much I'll need to buy except some strings or minor accessories from time to time, so I'll miss the great service that Sweetwater is known for, I guess I'll have to go down to the corner store to get something sweet if I get the urge. You can't beat the free shipping either. 4.5 is my rating for a really great pair of phones.
Definitely go for it
For a $50 pair of monitoring headphones these will do wonderfully. I am an audio production major and at least for now these are perfect. They're even, they sound great, and they're inexpensive. Had me sold and they get the two thumbs up MM
Great Value
I purchased these to use with my electronic keyboard for practicing while others are sleeping. They are much better than others I tried. Fast, excellent shipping from Sweetwater.
Great sound
Great sound quality for the price, fit nicely on your ears.
Great headphones
Very pleased with these headphones. I use them just plugged into my amps or my multi effects/pedal. Always happy buying from Sweetwater
They serve their purpose
You get what you pay for. Excellent comfort. When they're on your head they FEEL just like M50x's but SOUND nothing like them. I use them to listen to guitar, bass and drums while I'm tracking and they're a dream, but for listening to music, they're almost awful. If that's what you're after, go get yourself a pair of KOSS Portapros for $40. Back to the M20x, the cable is stupid long and feels sturdy enough. 1/4" adapter is a great nice-to-have. Overall. They do what they're meant and nothing more.
Audio Technics ATH-M20x Headphones
Love them. Have had a pair of Audio Technic phones for years. These came at the right time as my old ones were pretty worn but had never lost the great sound.
A little quiet but great quality
Awesome sound but a lil quiet. Can clip when pretty easily when plugged into interface.
Nice for the price
I recently purchased the ATH-M50X headset and needed a secondary headset for my Alesis drum set. The ATH-M20x is a bit lower quality sound but still very impressive for the price. Sweetwater shipping and customer service is top notch. Keep them in mind if you want quality equipment for a fair price...
Exceptional sound
I am very pleased with the sound quality for the price. They are also comfortable to wear for long periods. They block out sound well and keep sound in to prevent minimal bleed into the mic.
They are fine
I love these things but realize I'm not an expert. Are they amazing? Idk. I just know for the price I loved it.
Technica ATH-M20x headphones
Considering the very price I paid, these sound quite good. Actually, better than I had expected.
Thanks to Sweetwater Sound, as well as to my sales engineer, Stephen Oppenheim.
Great Headphones
Great! love the straight cable.
Studio Headphones
These are really good studio headphones. Comfortable to wear and a wide spectrum allows deep lows and crisp highs with excellent clarity.
Great for use with guitar amp
I use these when playing my electric guitar and do not want to disturb others. The headphones seem very well made, and are quite comfortable to wear for several hours at a time.
Awesome headset
These did not disappoint me. Crisp and clean. What would of made these a five star rating is a coiled cord but other than that, I am very pleased. Great studio headphones.
Headphones
Great headphones for the price!!!!
TH-M20x
Light and comfortable
Price is not bad either
Highly recommended
get the job done
Gives good sound for mixing, but it needs more volume. Also it needs more bass. They do what they pose to, work for me.
Not bad for the money
These have got to be the best cans in this price range. They’re pretty comfortable, the sound is surprisingly less hyped than most of their competitors, and build quality is definitely not bad. These don’t feel anything like the older audio technica headphones, for good or bad. They fit a little tighter than the old ones. But they aren’t bad, sort of like if the MD7507 and HD280s had a baby. Good set for tracking, and at this price you could get enough for the whole band.
Good pair of headphones for mix distribution
One of my artists had a really old and weathered pair of headphones and I felt I was obligated to fix this. For the price I was able to incorporate a pair of cans she was not only very excited about, but alleviated any stress incurred due to a less than favorable monitoring experience. The goal was to keep her fully focused on only her performance and these took care of that.
I would rather all models come with "coiled" cables for ease of mobility as these straight cables get caught up on furniture and such, but not a big deal as we worked through it. I will be getting some more of these for backup.
Sonically they sound great and as mentioned before, for the price makes it a lot easier to help out more people.
cant beat it for the price
sound good and there comfy. only issue i have is if im tracking with them i will get some bleed from them so the seal on the ear cuffs could be a bit better. that said ill probably pick up another pair of these for the odd time i need a secound set of headphones.
Feels a bit flimsy for me
Had a pair of Sennheisers that my dog chewed. Thought to save money since he might do it again but I regret not spending more for the pair I had. These sound fine but just feel much cheaper.
They work fine but she’s everywhere after a few years
Honestly it's gross I have black plastic all over me and it's terrible for the environment also.
average-nothing special
The closed back is undersized to cover ears and decrease other noise. The set is detailed enough, but the high trebles sound brassy and edgy. They are just okay, nothing special.
One of the cheapest feeling headphones i have ever had in my hands.
What a disappointment!
Given they are $ headphones (scammed into thinking they were simply on a special)
Even the ends, adapter, everything, feel like the cheapest of chinese manufactured quality.
Nothing about them rings out decent...passable to listen to a podcast or the like? sure, but not much more.
Audio Technica ATH- M20x Closed-back Monitoring Headphones
Just what I expected.AFFORDABLE.Now I can get the singer involved.
Ungodly Pain with Glasses
Can't wear for longer than an hour or two before my ears are screaming for relief. Should've saved up instead of being in a rush to replace my old headphones.
Fragile!
Christmas Day our son accidentally bumped our grandson's brand new headphones off the arm of a chair---we've had glassware survive the same fall---but these headphones haven't worked since. Very disappointed.
