Very Cool Little Amp!
Although this is my first acoustic guitar amp, I'm no newby to guitar equipment. I've been playing electric and acoustic guitar for more than 40 years. I wish I had this or something similar decades ago. I think it sounds great with my PRS SE A40 Angelus acoustic guitar plugged in while singing through a Shure SM-58. I've read several reviews disparaging the quality of the included footswitch and the limited control it provides, the recording duration of the looper, and other details. What they seem to overlook is that no other amp at a competitive price and quality is currently offering all the things that this amp does. You can always add more footswitches and pedals if you want more features and control, but for the price, I think this little amp gives you a lot and sounds great.
Acoustic Amp
This does everything I need and more. Great quality at a great price.
One heck of an amp
I've had the boss singer live for over a week now and it has not been a disappointment. It's been wow. The best acoustic amp that I've ever heard. You can do so much with it. Being just a simple balladeer I don't need much, but this has opened a new world for me. My wife says that I sound professional (she's never said that after 42 years of marriage).
Once again the sweetwater people has come through for me. I have no desires to go anywhere else for my musical stuff.
Thanks guys
Great amp!
I did my first ever "performance" at my wedding. Hooked this baby up to a shure mic and my Taylor and it made me sound great!
Very useful amp for songwriting...
I bought this amp because I wanted looping and vocals in a single device for acoustic songwriting sessions. It performs the role perfectly. Great sound, super easy to use, and very versatile when expanded with the GA foot controller. I had the opportunity to A/B this amp with the TC and it held its own just fine, not really "better" than the TC per se, but every bit as good and useful for songwriting. Not sure about live applications, but I see no reason why this wouldn't do just fine at small-room gigs.
This amp gets the job done
Boss has done a nice job with this one. The sound is wonderful and the effects Boss chose to include here are actually ones that I think are useful and usable without trying so hard to be all things to all people. Great value - I am happy with my purchase.
Boss acoustic singer live
Pulled the trigger on the awesome amp. Really wanted the t.c. helicon amp, but the hadn't come out yet. So, I ordered the acoustic singer live. It arrived timely, was well packed for shipping, and the amp works fantastically!!! It sounds better than I expected it to sound. But, the real review here is the amazing customer service I've received from Sweetwater over the years. When you order a product, they assign you a sales engineer who takes care of all your needs past present and future. I can't express how amazing my 'Sales engineer' Jimmy Itella has been. He is awesome. I've bought several items from Sweetwater, and makes sure I'm well taken care of. I ordered the wrong size bass drum head and he got me a return shipping invoice, fed ex showed up at my door returned the drum head, a d he had the right head sent out. He is in contact every step of the way with each order, and he is a super nice, amazing, and actually quite talented musician, I'm thankful to have him as my sales engineer. And Sweetwater's approach to customer service is 1st rate!!!
The Boss Acoustic Singer Live
Boss really nailed it with the acoustic live amp. This is by far the best acoustic amps on the market. I have been Searching for a acoustic guitar amp for quite some time now and when I finally had the opportunity to play the boss amp live at a local music store, I was highly impressed not only by the features but the sound as well. It is a well versatile amp
for just about any occasion and a must for all levels of acoustic guitar players.
Very Nice Guitar Amp
Hi, first of all this is a very nice guitar amp ... but I'm posting this review to inform you that this amp really works with MacOS 11 Big Sur although the Boss website says it's not, that it's only compatible with MacOS Catalina 10. Just download the version 1.0.2 driver for MacOS 10.15, install it. After rebooting the Mac will report no device detected, the solution is to run the "Install Helper.app" that came with the driver package. Voila! The amp now works in my latest MacOS 11.5.2 Big Sur MBP. Hope this helps.
It will bring me back....
I had pneumonia four years in a row, and my voice had gone down hill along with it. I started to mess around and try singing again, with my big sound system, to my backing tracks.... but most times don't need all of that power. But, I also wrote so many songs that I would like to start doing again. I got a small traveler guitar, whereas my big ovation is way to heavy for me. I got this boss amp, mostly for the harmony feature. It did not explain itself in the description very clear with the vocals. It said about following the chords you play, but all you need to do is sing into the mic, and it works great. This will give me so much more confidence to get back out there. Where once I did an album in Nashville, and my biggest crowd was about 5 thousand folks, I am now a cowering idiot. The guitar, though I am just a chord player, sounds so sweet, yet full. I am so happy with this purchase, and now I must practice, and practice and get my fingertips rough again.... cause here I come world. 67 years old, grandmother to 18, great grandmom to 1.... I am ready for a new chapter. Thank you to Sweetwater, Traveler and Boss.... Did I say I am very happy....
Boss Acoustic Singer Live 60-watt
Bought this to replace an older amp for coffee shop and small cafe gigs. Liked the specifications and the reviews were good. A plus is the small size and light weight. Cristian Good at Sweetwater also gave positive information.
I have now used it at 2 of my gigs and can attest to the clarity of tone and fullness the volume allows. For the first time ever I had a listener comment on the balance of the voice/guitar.
I recommend it for small gigs and it sounds really great on the porch too.
Exactly the right combination of power and simplicity
Boss hit a home run with this Acoustic Singer Live because they put just enough features into it to give you very good options, while keep it intuitive and simple to use. If you have ever experienced option overload and menu confusion on Line 6 and Fender multi-effects amps and pedals (those are good devices, just complex), then you will be be overjoyed with the simple user interface here. No deep electronic menus to frustrate you; no system to crash or reboot. The knobs and buttons do what you think they will do, and do them well: they give you a nice couple of options for reverbs and delays, harmonize your voice (hi, lo, or unison), kill feedback, etc. The footswitch is just an A and B, and the looper is very basic, but everything ... just ... works ... great. The looper works for your voice too, not just your instrument. I find myself starting practice sessions by grabbing my acoustic and doing some loops and singing with this, or just a chord progression loop to do solos and scales over, and it sounds gorgeous, and pretty soon a whole lot of time has flown by. Honestly, it's hurting my electric practice because of the simplicity of this thing and and great sound it gives my acoustic electric (I have an ancient, wrecked Taylor 514ce with an older Fishman preamp). I am holding jam sessions with friends and finding that I am holding down the space of multiple instruments by looping the instrument and microphone on this (it's easy to pick up percussion through the microphone input). Simple is so good.
Sounds full and beefy
I like this amp. I was acoustic shopping a few years ago in a local shop and plugged into this amp. I noticed the tight and awesome low end this amp had. So I read what it said on the label. It said "Acoustic singer Live" So, I went home and bought one for myself. 3 years later, I still love it so I'm writing a review. It has a lot of cool features, but honestly, I just plug in and go. It sounds good.
All in one
This little amp replaced a Phonic 104 and a Peavey Bandit and has better sound. Really a versatile piece of equipment and compact for a one man band. I would recommend this to any one from beginner to Pro.
Dynamite in a Small Package!
I'm an Old School Rocker who has always played in bands... Recently I've done several acoustic gigs and didn't need to bring out the whole Monster PA... Boss equipment has never let me down and I purchased this amp for the ease of operation and the light weight handling... This was just what the doctor ordered! Plenty of power for a Wine Bar and I really dig the Vocal Harmonizer!!! The Looper is my next challenge to master! Thanks Boss, Sweetwater and Patrick Cobley for Always being Spot On!!!
Great little acoustic amp
Perfect for pros and home players alike who need power for smaller rooms combined with tidy size.
Sound quality is very good and simple control layout is easy to manage. Effects sound natural.
This amp should be in the discussion for all considering an acoustic amp in this price/size/power range.
I really liked the Blackstar Sonnet 60 but no phantom power on that amp.
The Acoustic Live has a nice set of output connection options for larger venues/systems.
Wow!
I've been playing for About 8 months and this thing is so much fun! The loop function works sweet. Makes a green horn sound kinda good!!:-) My Takamine helps too. Zac B. you are the man!!!!
Fantastic amp!
Best Acoustic Amp!
I've owned this sweet Boss acoustic singer live amp for over two years. I'm extremely happy with my investment. The harmony feature is the best I have seen. Harmony pedal critics are quick to compliment the tight harmonies it produces. Zero problems with the unit. It's just amazing!
Blown Away
Don’t let the size of this little amp fool you. It has all the power you need for a house party or small room venue. I play a 6 and 12 string acoustic with it it, the effects and tones are fantastic. The mic singer side is also a big plus, doesn’t bog down the volume of guitar when using it. I took a chance and played my Les Paul thru it and wow, I got tone sounds never gotten before. I suggest the 120 watt if playing gigs indoors or out in large area. This amp deserves more than 5 stars, Boss did a fantastic job with this one. The construction is great, real wood panels, not plastic. I see a 120 watt style for me in the near future. Well worth the bucks! Don’t forget, it has looper effects that most amps don’t offer, and comes with foot controller. Yes, I would buy it again!
Love It take care of music on the road True
I was mainly Martin and Taylor Guitars Whether you use high end or economy guitars you want the best sound possible and the best Useful features All this the small package is I take on the road sound men love it and My Search is over for the best acoustic amp natural sounding The vocal section is amazing as well This amp inspires me
Best of the best
I love every of everything about it: sound, design... perfect guitar AMP
Boss Acoustic Singer Live
This is a very well designed, functional acoustic combo. Lots of flexibility on the vocal channel with separate reverb and delay controls. My acoustic guitar seems to have a little more presence in the guitar channel and is clearly acoustic. The looper and harmony effects are really nice features and work well. All in an amp that weighs twenty three pounds.
Most Bang for the buck - it's loaded with Quality Features
Just what I was looking for! No one wants to buy two acoustic amps and no one wants to make a mistake and buy an amp that they are unhappy with. I was intent on buying an acoustic amp that would make me happy for many years. I wanted it to be great sound and build and have many features. I wanted it to be small and of lighter weight. I wanted vocal features also. While many reviewers and owners are praising Fishman Loudbox line (which sound great) The Boss Acoustic Live and Pro models will give any of them a run for their money with more features and fantastic sound. I wanted the features. I wanted the extra things that the Fishman models simply do not have. I purchased the Boss Acoustic LIve and for $... NO FISHMAN product will come close to it. The BOSS ACOUSTIC SINGER amps should always be among anyone's top acoustic amp listing. I am sure it will gain more users fast. (hope they can keep up with demand) I do have to say though, play a quality guitar through it. My Martin sounds so awesome through it. You will have much FUN playing with this thing.
Little powerhouse
I bought this amp to replace my Crate CA125 biamped Acoustic amp. At half the weight the 60 watt amplifier is perfect for coffee house gigs and small venues. It fits on a chair to get it up off the ground, and has better sound quality coming from my Breedlove dreadnaught. The acoustic resonance feature even makes my piezo powered Godin Jazz sound like an incredible acoustic. I am more than impressed at all the great features like a looper and harmony for the vocals. It even has the power needed for an outdoor patio gig. As close to a perfect acoustic amp I've ever played, and smaller and lighter for us older guitarists to lug around without causing backaches.
Love at First Strum
This unit replaced my Loud Box Mini and Boss V-8 Acoustic Singer Pedal. After a smidgen of technical assistance from Dave Snow I got his unit into 5th Gear High in a hurry. Found the on board vocal effects to be a perfect match for my musical stylings. Simply put, an excellent piece of gear for those who like to play and sing using an acoustic guitar.
love it!
I got this little amp four days ago. I'm still blown away by its features. The vocal harmonizer sold me. Its very loud for its size. I just started working on looping tonight. It's amazing!
love it!

Impressed
I was tired of bein a pack mule so I was looking into less is more. This was almost too good to be true, vocals, acoustic, looper & harmonizer all in one? I had nothing to lose but time, if it did not do what it said it would I could return it. They are NOT getting it back, it has found a home.. Keeping it. SO pleased with it. I played a little coffee shop for the Sturgis rallies, the place was full most of the time & the little Boss just kicked butt. Everything was clear, clean, crisp & warm. I only got asked to turn down once lol. I was not even half volume for my master same with the other volume controls. I would not only recommend it, I'd buy it again. The size is just a little bigger than a toaster oven, perfect!!! User friendly, easy to loop, easy to harmonize, just gotta get the peddle that did not come with it.
What I've been waiting for!
Even if Boss had picked me to design this amp, it couldn't suit my needs any better. It combines everything I need for a solo acoustic performance in a handy and great-sounding little package. This set up lets me have a background singer and multiple accompanists at the touch of a button all without hauling a bunch of stompboxes around. I love it!
Boss acoustic singer 120 watt
The looper is way too short. I own two of these and love them . Except the loopers way too short .
This sounds great
I am a backyard picker that wanted to have an amp to use for small spaces and friends coming over. This is great, sounds amazing and is very compact. And with the audio jack in the back, the kids use it for karaoke. All around great buy!
Great amp !
Have had this amp for a little over a year and im very happy with it. Great tone and loud enough to use live with a small band. My only complaints are the looper is too short thirty seconds i think which is really not a big problem as i have a boss rc2 on my pedalboard with 15 minutes of loop time and the harmony which i expected to be a little better is just meh....also not a problem for me personally as i have rc helicon harmony singer pedal on my board as well. Some of the great features on this amp include out puts for the vocal channel and guitar channel that come in handy when recording at home and also a line out for the house pa too. The phantom power switch lets you use a condenser mic if you prefer which is cool.one thing i recommend is getting the optional foot switch that controls the chorus ,reverd for each channel and harmony.....the amp comes with an included harmony control pedal but i found that its not accurate and made of plastic. I also recommend the optional canvas cover to keep this beautiful amp protected. All in all this is a great feature laden amp the seems ruggedly constructed and should provide many years of fathful service for the gigging acoustic player....thank to Josh Pippen and his knowledgeable sales team for helping me to choose the perfect amp for my needs
Darn
Too bad it doesn't have 2 dual XLR/TRS inputs otherwise I would have chosen this one over the Fender Acoustic Jr. because the Boss has a looper and harmonizer. Darn!
Boss Delivers!!
What a great acoustic amp! The power this small amp puts out is unbelievable. The sound is crystal clear and the effects portion of this amp can really make your sound more precise to whatever you are trying to achieve. It seems that the ability of this amp to reproduce the exact input of your playing is very sensitive.
The reason I say this is that I have found that playing guitar on this amp with your fingers if you strum or pluck to hard there seems to be some "fuzz" or distortion heard where as playing with a pick doesn't seem to make a difference. Don't understand it but, that is what I have experienced. However I plan to try a different guitar cord possibly a Boss cord to see if that helps. I am very happy with the sound and ability of this amp and have already received approval of listeners of the quality sound it produces. Would definitely recommend!
HUGE Little Amp
I had grown tired of heavy amps and the lugging around of the aforementioned, mainly because cause at 59 years of age, my back is not what it used to be , nor any other part of my body. Amps have come a long way, especially in the last 5 years, manufacturers have begun to give us a more all in one experience, instead of the old, lets minimize everything and force them to buy other things to milk them for every last dollar in their wallet. An absolute disgusting approach towards growing a base of supporters. We want more for less, but really good at the same time... and here it is, the acoustic singer live. just go watch some videos if your unsure, I paid 5 benjamins and now it's on sale,, this is a steal. Light weight, full of features, one of my favorites, harmony, 3 different types, which sound great, chorus , reverb, settings to make your acoustic guitar sound better, ant-feedback controls, foot switch input, xlr outs on the back as well as 1/4" outputs, independent volumes ,3 way EQ and master volume control. Mix all that with 60 watts of power, this thing is loud!, I don't perform in public anymore, but I might now. I feel sure it could provide the necessary power for a small venue, and if not it has the necessary outs to patch to your PA, and just use as your monitor, yes, you can literally patch out a vocal and the mic on the back panel separately, it's way cool.I wish they had something like this 40 years ago, . so the 4.5 rating you ask, well , nothing is perfect, this amp actually has asio drivers for output to recording software, they failed on me a few times, shutting down, but hey ,how many people are buying this to act as daw for recording, I didn't. maybe I can upgrade the drivers, havent tried yet, you can connect through usb to your pc,,, really? who builds this kind of stuff? Boss, AKA Roland, remember that name? You, will enjoy this equipment, even though I wasn't able to buy it at 150 dollars saving, I would buy it again, I own a classic peavey twin reverb made in Mississippi, and I don't want to move it 5 feet anymore, much less across town, this amp even being broke down and aging is no problem moving around.
Perfect for solo use in small venues
I love this amp -- I'm in the process of transitioning to more solo performances, and have missed the option for the occasional harmony. I already had some portable sound systems that would be too much for the venues I'd play solo, so the size and function of the Boss Acoustic Singer is perfect. Good clear sound and effects.
Boss acoustic singer
Sounds awesome ,I let my son n wife try it out . ( she was so amazed she actually cried. .. (can't beat that )they are both ( very active n talented in music ).thanks for a great enhancement.
Boss Acoustic Singer Live 60
Mostly OK. The harmony and the looper features are something new for me. It' doesn't seem as deep as my Peavey acoustic amp, but combining the two is what I need.
Boss Singer 60
It works just as they say it does and I really like it. The looper sounds great.
Love it
I still haven't figured out if I could loop by whole song but so far everything seems good.
Just barely misses the mark
I want to say that over-all, I like it. The acoustic sound is rich and as loud as I need it. It doesn't get lost in the mix with drums and bass. I have a hard time getting the timing right on the looper (but that's not the amps fault). I haven't had a chance to fully take the harmony function out for a spin. I played with it a little and was less than impressed. This could be due to comparing it with my DigiTech Vocalist Live 4 (which is wonderful).
Little but powerful
Small but packs a punch. Love the tone or should I say tones of this little amp. I use the xlr outputs to plug into my mixer board and it can cover a large room with ease. The best thing about this amp is I don't have to carry a great big ole honking amp around to get a great sound.
Great Little Amp
Very nice quality. Lightweight and looks good too. Get the Boss FS-6 Dual Footswitch (or equiv).
It will bring you that much closer to success in the never ending search for the ultimate gear!
Great amp!
I gave this amp a 4, and a 4 is Great. As it is now, with the upgraded GW-6024 6 1/2" woofer, I'd give it a 5, which is "blown away."
First of all, these Boss amps are great, and I think are a steal when you consider all that your getting. I've had my share of lugging heavy equipment around that wasn't half as useful as this tool kit is. This is far more than just an amp.
If your not as picky as I am, and don't have the skills/experience/background I have, don't alter your Boss. For all of you Audofiles out there, "try this" you'll like it!
My neighbor came over the other day and after plugging into my Boss with the GW speaker upgrade and was looking for a hidden Sub that was not there.
I would recommend this amp to anyone!
Sounds great....however
I bought this amp to use in my solo acoustic shows. The sound is fantastic, but the looper and vocal harmonies not so much. I play and sing songs and use the looper so I can add a lead. The looper records the vocals along with the guitar. This will not work for what I wanted it for. The harmonies weren't exact and seemed to be off key at times. Also, the included footswitch is plastic and cheap. I doubt it would last a couple gigs. I may purchase the Live LT once it comes to the store. I played it next to the Fishman and there was no comparison in sound
The boss blew it away. The Boss also has a lot of other features that the Fishman didn't.
just get the Fishman
I started looking at acoustic/singer amps after playing an Acoustic A20 in my local guitar store. I was looking for something bigger though. I compared the Fishman and Boss and decided on the Boss because I like their pedals (brand recognition) and wanted to try the looper. When it arrived and I plugged it in there was a hum that would not go away. I had read about the hum in other bad reviews of this amp but it was worse than I thought. The worst part was I played this thing for about an hour and had it turned all the way up and it was barely louder than my guitar. I don't know if it was faulty or what but I had it repackaged and back in the mail by the end of the day. When I talked to Austin he recommended the Fishman brand instead. The next weekend I ran across one at a local store and played it and purchased it (Sorry Austin). I'm very happy with the Fishman. I would NOT recommend the Boss.
Returning to Sweetwater.
I have a fishman loud box that I was using, I use a looper and tc helicon voice live for my solo gigs, bought this to try and minimize my setup.
Played a gig with last Friday night, all was well until I got it into my studio and noticed when a chord is chopped, a weird ring comes from the reverb channel, thought it was feedback at first but after tracking it down, it's the reverb, even at its lowest setting, it has an odd harmonic ring. It's going back today. Also, lacks any real depth for vocals, the fishman has this beat hands down.
