Should have bought these earlier
In a different league than other monitors. The GLM system works much better. The speakers are surprisingly fuller-sounding compared to others in this segment even though they are the smallest. I guess size does not matter on this. Need to buy the GLM system separately and preferably the matching sub for the full experience.
Truly Amazing Sound
I enjoyed the Genelec 8320A a lot. I forget all my high-end headphones and IEMs compared to these.
The buying experience from Sweetwater is absolutely smooth. I highly recommend buying from them.
My best home studio purchase
I have these monitors with the genelec sub. The most expensive monitor setup I've ever had and I will never regret it. I will say definitively that monitors are the most important studio investment you can make. You will never regret going with Genelec.
Space-saving & huge improvement over lower-priced monitors
My old 2+1 monitors lasted 20 years, so I felt I'd earned a big upgrade. If you spend a significant number of hours listening each week, the quality improvement is worth every penny! I added the 7350A subwoofer and I am hearing detail, imaging and extension like never before. And the size is a huge advantage in my small studio. GLM is easy, fun to use, and gives me peace of mind that things are flatter in the room than the stock settings. After a couple of weeks getting used to them, my mixes are much improved.
The best pair little speakers for the money
These speakers are clear as day,and can pack a punch.i got the GLM calibration system with these and they"re perfect for my room.IMO they are the best little speakers for the money.
Great Monitors
I love these little monitors! I replaced a couple of budget studio monitors (I had two on each side trying to get the sound I was looking for) with these, and the difference is night and day. At first I was a little underwhelmed, but as I really listened I was amazed at the clarity these things offer. The highs are crisp, the mids are clear, and the bottom end is well defined. And for my needs they're perfect, they get plenty loud for my home studio (a converted spare bedroom) and take up a lot less space. I used the Genelec Loudspeaker Manager (GLM) software to tune the speakers to my room, and it made a big difference.
The studio I have access to at work has really expensive high end Genelec studio monitors, and they're incredible! When I listen to the same piece at home, the mix seems identical! Of course the 8320's don't get nearly as loud, but the quality of the mix is the same. Amazing! Down the road I may try a subwoofer to see if that helps, but I don't think I really need it.
And thanks to Carl at Sweetwater! He was a big help with me deciding which speakers to buy.
