Variable impedance, a direct out for your sound engineer, and individual channel volume control means the Bugera 6262 Infinium all-tube guitar amplifier head may be the last you'll ever want to play.

Sweetwater is awesome

By Pickle from DALLAS, GA on September 14, 2023

I bought one of these because the one I have and reviewed on here before is older without infium tube technology. I got the new one and after 2 days I turned it on standby to use the bathroom and it went POP and kept blowing fuses. I called Sweetwater and they sent me a new one with a return slip to ups for the malfunctioning one immediately. No problem at all with the new one after a few weeks now and it sounds just as amazing as the older one so I'm very happy with the Amp and Sweetwater

6262 vs. 6505+

By Chango138 on August 24, 2022

I bought the 6262 and I couldn't believe how good it sounded. It was everything I wanted. So I thought to myself, "if the 6262 sounds this amazing then the 6505+ has to sound THAT much better. Well, it does not. They are equal if not a slight advantage to the 6262. I spent close to $1000 on the Peavey when I had everything I needed with the Bugera.

Just great

My last review was a bit long whinded so in short I'll say just get it. Goes head to head with Mesa and other larger income amps. If it's good enough for me I'd just imagine you will not be disappointed

Go ahead and buy it before its gone

By Pickle from Ohio on January 16, 2021 Music Background: 15 year professional

I have played fender amps for years and after looking at the 6 preamp tubes pushing 4 6l6's for the price I got one. A friend of mine had a 6505 peavey and this bugera is quite a bit better in my opinion (his as well which is why he plays a mesa boogie now) if you thought about this and are thinking just spend more for a more name brand model i suggest if you are to good a player for this amp you should be getting them for free with possibly your own model.

Amazed

By Sweetwater Customer on December 18, 2015

I bought this amp about 5 months ago so it has had time to wear in. This amp has blown me away with how amazing it is. First off it is super loud I play in a prog band and I have never turned it up over 3 and when it was at like 2 and a half I was overpowering the drums.

The next thing about this amp is the tone the cleans are buttery and smooth and with the reverb(which also goes to 11) makes the clean channel sing. The crunch channel does all of your vintage tones really well it likes to have a tube screamer to push it a little though. And finally the LEAD channel not only does it sound amazing but it has so much gain that I run it at about 1 o'clock and it has enough gain to do something like suicide silence(if that's what your into)

In my opinion this is one amazing amp and for the price it's even more amazing if your looking for a metal amp that has great cleans look no further this is the amp for you.

On a side note sweet water is the best music company in the world they help u through all the steps of purchasing an amp

Bugera 6260

By Grey Nebeker from Mountain Home Idaho on August 15, 2015 Music Background: Hard rock Metal

I had reservations about this amp like most guitar players would. Everything I read online said these amps were awesome. The big drawback for me was the horror stories I heard / read about these amps blowing up in people faces. I watched all the U tube videos and everything. But I decided to go ahead and take the risk and try one out. A big fan of Marshall amps and especially Peavey 6505+ I wanted an amp that could give that high gain sound. The brown sound and beyond... to Metal Extreme. I wasn't disappointed. The Amp Delivered. Fender tweed, Vox, Plexi, early Marshall, High gain And that signanature 6505 sound was there. I was amazed. Depending on channel and gain settings there is nothing you can't achieve. More gain than you would ever need for Death metal, and clean enough for country and blues..I played an outdoor gig with this amp in 106 degree weather, and it didnt flinch.

The Bugera 6262 Rocks. Literally.

By Josiah from WA State, USA on December 6, 2014 Music Background: Amatuer Proudcer, Guitar Player.

After a lot of research on the Bugera 6262, I decided to purchase my first tube amplifier. I've always wanted to experience that tube sound that people always talk about, but I feared I couldn't afford it, since tube amplifiers are so incredibly expensive. After searching for a high wattage tube amplifier for an excellent price, I found Bugera. I wanted something for metal in the Bugera line, and decided to go with the 6262. I received the box with the amp in it, along with the 412f Bugera BK cabinent, I immediately noticed how heavy it was. I like heavy. It's usually a sign of durability. I plugged everything up and began to play my first tube amplifier! I was blown away by the volume levels and tone.

-The Lead Channel
If you worry about not getting enough gain on this head, worry no longer. I never push it past 6. I usually keep it at 4, (or 2, when using a overdrive pedal). This thing sounds tight. Produces beautiful tight palm mutes, crushing riffs, and face melting solos. A killer metal tone. I wish the EQ section changed the tone more drastically. It's hard to notice a difference by just turning the knobs slightly up or down, you really have crank on the knobs to notice a difference. But it definitely is plenty enough to get the tone you want.

-The Clean Channel
After messing around with the knobs, I found a beautiful clean tone. It sounds alive, unlike a lot of solid state amps I have played clean on. The "Bright" option is awesome. It brings out a lot of higher frequencies to get more of a "twang" in your sound. In the clean channel, their is a "crunch" option. I'm in love with it. When set properly, it can create amazing classic rock tone solos and riffs. The EQ on this channel seemed easier to change. I could here the difference by lightly turning the knobs up or down, unlike the lead channel.

-The Reverb
The Reverb really isn't anything special. It sounds good for what type of reverb it is, but I honestly don't fancy it. I'd much rather prefer a reverb pedal, used in the FX loop option.

-Construction/Durability
Like I said before, this thing is heavy. The knobs seem durable, and feel awesome. You get that slight resistance when turning the knob, which feels really good. The front and back plates of the head are completely metal. The logo however is a cheap plastic that is held to the metal faceplate by glue, and a sliding nut. Still looks good though ;)
I've had it for a week now, and haven't experienced any problems thus far. I hear Bugera has come a long way in durability over the years.

I am very satisfied with my purchase overall. If you're on a tight budget and want an amazing sound tube amplifier for metal or rock, you can't go wrong here. Especially with the sweetwater warranty.

My main work horse

By David from Del Rio TX on November 25, 2017 Music Background: Active musician

This head quickly replaced my 333 XL as my main workhorse. I've owned this head since Feb 2015 and have not looked back since. I am contemplating ordering another 6262 in the near future but one will work for now. I like how this amp can stand toe to toe with more expensive heads and get the job done. I get a lot of compliments on my guitar tone and how massive it sounds. In my current project there is only 1 guitar in the band and it's imperative that we have that massive blues/heavy rock sound.

I did have to add a few things in front of the amp and in the effects loop though:

I currently run a Rocktron Hush through the effects loop, set to max and I also run a Decimator II (2 o'clock) and a Maxon 808 OD (drive: 9 o'clock, balance: 12 o'clock and the tone is at 10 o'clock) on the floor.

The EQ for this head is pretty good. It took me about a month to dial in and in my opinion it was well worth the time spent. I completely ditched the EQ settings I had with my other heads and started this one from scratch.

Overall I am very pleased with this head and as I stated earlier, I will most likely purchase another 6262 in the near future.

and I would recommend this head to everyone, this is a great head for the price and can still tow the line with other 120 watt heads just at a cheaper price!!

Affordable world class guitar amp

By Alan from Southern Maine on May 9, 2015

I've tried and played many guitar heads, for example 5150 II, and EVH 3, Peavey triple XXX, Valve King, JCM 800, 900, Egnater, Blackstar HT60, Randall RH and RG heads all of which are excellent heads and they all sound amazing and all have they own signature sound. they also aren't cheap for the exception of the Randall rh head which is solid state. The bugera is affordable slightly over 500.00 and has a great sound. meaning it can go from nice sparkly cleans to over the top high gain metal! I use the head through a custom 2x12 loaded with eminence wizard and governor, mostly high gain stuff and it sounds great!! Another great feature that hardly any amps on the market have is the ability to self bias, yes! I know what your thinking, no tube amp self bias, but these Infinium amps do! Just put in either 6L6 or El34 tubes and your good to go! I'm on pro but I have playing guitar for over 25 years and enjoy and follow all the greatest gear. That being said, I highly recommend this amp! Yes it's made in china but whatever there quality control is doing, there are doing a great job! This is not Chinese junk, some will argue that on the forums, but I'm sold on bugera's products! Affordable world class sounding amplifiers!!

Unreliable quality

By Brandon Boe from Thornton, CO on January 2, 2024

So I ordered a floor demo, and got one with a non working gain channel. Now firstly Sweetwater is great
and Ken got me a return label and refund right away, but with all I've heard about Bugera
I am no ever more skeptical about their reliability, I would not buy one again. If you just want
a 100 watt home practice amp they have great tone when they function, but they are still a
big gamble on how long the amp will function for you.

Pedal platform amp

By Engin Atasay on January 5, 2024

The lead channel is just as bad as Bugera T50. It may be alright if all you play is just power chords but it gets fizzy and buzzy when you try to solo. It is not 80s metal tone when the G string sounds like a box of bees. Very disappointing when the amp doesn't deliver for folks who don't do pedals but rely on the amp for gain.
The clean channel is crystal and has a cool crunch button to drive it a bit harder. I now play only via the clean channel with 2 over drive pedals to shape my sound. It sounds good. Unless you have good pedals and speakers, this amp will disappoint folks looking to capture 80s or 90s metal tones. It is also loud, so bedroom/basement playing may not be the best setting.

Too Much Amp For Me

By RANDY W FRICKE from La Crescent, MN on September 20, 2023

This amp is a fire breather. I've had if for awhile but it has very few hours on it. I should have never bought it. It's way more amp than I need. I'd sell it if someone came along.
