It's a beast

By Butch from La. on April 20, 2021 Music Background: intermediate

The cabinet is great. It arrived in perfect condition.
However the box showed that there were supposed to be some casters for the cab.
But they were not in there.
It is totally awesome.

Outstanding SQ

By Joe from Savannah TX on October 28, 2020

1st Marshall cabinet and last. I couldn't see getting another cab when the SQ of this one is so good. Does what it was designed to do and then some. Maybe a little too much for my house but i had to get it.

Am AWESOME, ROCK SOLID CAB!

By JOSEPH MANZARO from Florida on March 21, 2020 Music Background: Studio Musician & Percussionist

I'm so very impressed with the sound on this. As stated by manufacturer, it has a nice, designed appeal to the eye BUT the BRIGHTER, ANGLED SOUND is sonically MORE CLARITY AND PUNCH!! THIS Cab comes through for the power player wants to be able to hear the diversity of every note and power cord! I have never played more versatily with a single piece of sound gear. I'm using mine with the recommended head unit and it just has so many amazing things for my playing and my sound. I mean if you know how to use your Amp and can dial it in, the nuances are totally respected by this Cabinet! If you are a single volume and tone knob guy, you will really like the way every little thump and note resonate through all of your different little settings. You will really be able to hear all those variances available on your paf pickups more than ever! I play everything from Jazz to heavy metal to hardcore and this cabinet sounds amazing for any genre I throw at it! That clear buzzy thumpy metal sound that chugs? More than plenty of that here if you want it as well. Speakers are great!!

This cabinet ROCKS!!

I ordered this cab to go with my Marshal Origin 50. This thing sounds absolutely AMAZING with the Origin. Thanks to Mac for the hook up.

Amazing Rich Sound!

By Addison Mills from Lexington, KY on April 18, 2016 Music Background: Professional Worship Guitarist

Love the way this cab pairs with my Mesa Dual Rec. Normally on high gain settings, I dial out a decent portion of presence and treble to avoid harsh or brittle tones but this cab smooths all of that out! I find my self actually cranking the presence and treble back in. It is super dynamic and responsive and the tonal character of both my ODs and high gain are rich and smooth.

1960A: Elite class cabinet from Marshall.. The best of the best

By Alex G from Nashville, Tenn, USA on March 30, 2013 Music Background: 2+ decades as Marshall owner..

I have owned several Marshall cabs, 1960A, B, and 1922 2x12", and have helped friends puchase Marshall cabs. In my experience, they are the toughest, best constructed, best sounding on the market. Matched with Celestion (the best rock speaker maker), these cabs are superlative. Made with excellence.

My 1960A dates back to 1991, and has taken 22 years of abuse pretty well.. still looks great; my 1960B dates back to 1999, and still looks new. One interesting side note: many elite class audiophile speakers use HDF (high density fiberboard) or its equivalent, birch plywood for cabinetwork, to get that strong audio delivery, similarly, Marshall uses 15mm birch ply to get its harmonic brilliance and excellent sonic projection. Many drivers costing 5-10 thousand dollars a speaker have this in common.

Fortunately rock aficianados dont have to shell out that kind of cash to get our quality audio. Marshall means quality; top quality. Nothing less than the best.

Perfect Cab

By RJW from Yakima, WA on May 11, 2011 Music Background: Musician

This rugged cabinet is everything I expected, tough, well contructed and sounds great.

Great tone with a brighter edge.

By Richie from Palmyra, PA on September 21, 2008 Music Background: Active musician/ studio guitarist/ home recording project studio

See my detailed review on the 1960B cabinet page. The 1960 cabinets are the best there is in my opinion. No question about it. I've played through many cabs over many years. My favorite cab is the 1960B model, which has a deeper tone to it, but if you want things a little brighter, this is the best. The 1960A also has a nice crunch to it when you want to deliver that gutsy rock power and it really enhances the 1960B sound. They were made to work well together and they definitely do. You see these an many major tours for a reason.

The Cabinet You've Been Searching For

By Colton Taresh from Pocatello, ID on September 23, 2017

I didn't buy this cabinet through Sweetwater, but a local shop was selling one, and it was a deal I could not pass up.

Anyhow, this speaker cabinet is an absolute monster, but be wary, this cabinet sounds its best when your amp is cooking. The cabinet's resonance really adds a nasty growl that only two cabinets I've tried out compete with it, those being the Mesa 4x12 and the Orange 4x12. The construction is also great, everything feels solid and very well made, and the option to choose between 4, 8 or 16 ohms is a nice addition. I usually stick around 8 or 16 ohms depending on the amp, but it's nice to have options!

The Celestion G12T's sound amazing through just about anything, and the cabinet is really responsive. Get this cabinet and you will not regret it.

1960a

By Chris from Texas on January 29, 2019

Cab arrived and I set it up for 16 ohm mono. No sound at all when I connected either a dsl100hr or a Peavey Heritage. Very sad.

I set it up for 8 ohm stereo and I got sound from the left 2 speakers when connected to the left input jack but no sound at all when connected to the right input jack.

Thought it might be a bad jack plate, so I took it off. I was able to look inside the cab and I could see one of the black speaker wires from the jack plate to the top right speaker was just dangling there...not connected to the speaker.

I reconnected it and then bam, all jacks worked properly.

Now I have all 4 speakers working in 16 ohm mono and it sounds great.

It was really frustrating to receive a brand new cab and get no sound...and to have to open it up and see speaker wires not connected properly. Hence the 3 stars.

It does sound great though.

A killer
