From Our Research Team:Top-of-the-line Monitors with an Unbelieveable Clarity! The Genelec 1032A is a two-way active monitoring system including loudspeaker drivers, speaker enclosure, multiple power amplifiers and active low-level crossovers, and let's not forget that legendary Genelec sound. Featuring 10" woofers and 1" tweeters, the 1032A offers extended low-frequency response, and an increased maximum SPL, but still maintains a compact, svelte size suitable for nearfield monitoring from either stand on your console's meter bridge. Need specs? Genelec conservatively rates these beauties with 180 watt bass and 120 watt treble amplifiers, 36Hz to 23kHz frequency response, max SPL greater than 124dB, self-noise lower than 10dB, harmonic distortion less than .5%; you get the picture, these are awesome monitors! Completely dip switch configurable to your listening environment, the Genelec 1032A is suitable for any nearfield monitoring application! Or, try the 1031A-like the venerable 1032A, but with an 8" woofer and slightly less power.

Monitors and Mikes are where sound waves change to and from electrical impulses. It is how you can tell a great studio from an average one. I have used a number of monitors, from JBL L100s (the old d... read more [+]ays), Tannoys, Mackies, Events, and nothing compares to the Genelec 1032A for clarity, tight response, accuracy and volume handling capability. From vocals choirs, to acoustic guitar to heavy rock bands, they do it all well and ease your mix. I've had a pair for several years and I would not trade them for anything in this price range. Maybe at $10K and above, or with a custom installation, you can do a bit better, but in the $5K mid-field space these cannot be beat. close [-]
