Patrick Dennis
Patrick Dennis
I am a Fort Wayne, IN native and have lived on both sides of the country. I have been involved with music all of my life. I have had the great fortune of working at Sweetwater for 19 years, where I'm able to help individuals, schools, churches, theaters and recording studios with their audio needs. My core philosophy here at Sweetwater is to be the advocate for the customer. From the simple to the complex, I strive to make the right thing happen. I guess it's working since I still work with the very first person I sold a recording system to when I became a Sales Engineer!
As your personal contact here at Sweetwater, please let me know anytime I can offer help or advice.

Why did you first apply for a job at Sweetwater?
I applied at Sweetwater to be working with other musicians and technicians. The entire company is permeated with these and it is great to feel at home when I am at work.
-
Technical strengths:
My biggest technical strength is my love and desire to solve problems. It is rewarding to help someone solve some situation. This can be musical or technological.
-
Instruments you play:
I am one of the different people here. I play trombone and I am proud of it!
-
Other stuff we should know about you (hobbies, talents, interests, etc.):
I like to read, esp. about how music affects the brain, which may explain why I am this way! I enjoy camping and exploring our great country. My favorite activity is playing my horn in various groups. Practicing and performing is what so many of us enjoy!
-
Personal motto:
Licet segnis, sed intelligere
-
Guilty pleasure of choice:
I have a weakness for interesting humor. I love Monty Python, though some people find no humor there. I love musical humor, very notably Victor Borge. I find that being able to laugh gets me through a lot in life.
-
Describe the most dramatic situation in which you provided the Sweetwater Difference for a customer, or the most unusual/creative solution to a customer's problem:
I had a client who was doing a project with school children in the US and in Africa. The director took the children from the US to Africa to record songs with children there. Sweetwater was able to donate recording equipment and assist the project!
-
What do you enjoy most about being part of the Sweetwater team?
I enjoy the experience of helping people with their music. I know what a personal part of my life music is, and feel honored that I am allowed to help people with their music!
-
What's the biggest gig you've ever played?
While I have played in jazz bands and orchestras over time, my biggest gig was in a the Santa Clara Vanguard where I played our final performance in front of 35,000 people.
Interview with Patrick...

I've had the good fortune of purchasing many bits and pieces from Patrick over the years. He was the first to introduce me to the world of audio recording equipment and the intricacies therein. He has prevented me, on several occasions, from buying gear that he knew wouldn't fit into my set-up, and pointed me towards the gear that would. This has saved me a tremendous amount of money and headaches, and makes Mr. Patrick Dennis my "go to guy" when buying gear! P.S Know one does customer service better than Patrick!!!!!!!

Patrick Dennis has been my rep for many years now. Whether I need an order of strings or a PA system, I always feel that I have his undivided attention and full support. I have never hesitated to call him with questions. There have been situations where I intended to make a purchase and based on his honest and expert assessment and answers to my questions, I have held off. I have always felt confident in his opinions and, as he will tell you, I would never buy anything substantial from anyone or anywhere else. He represents Sweetwater well, and I appreciate him. I hope you guys do as well.

Another great experience, buying a guitar from Sweetwater! First and foremost is working with the Sales Engineer, Patrick Dennis. Just like last time, he was extremely helpful, informative and professional, during the entire process. The guitar arrived on-time and played brilliantly right out of the box. Anytime I'm considering purchasing some new music equipment, I call Patrick first! Thanks again.
