Andy Miller
Andy Miller
For over 30 years, I’ve been performing, mixing, and recording professionally. I’ve worked as a salesperson and instrument tech for four different MI retailers, made a living playing live music for 15 years, and been successful as a live sound engineer, lighting tech, and recording engineer through all that experience.
I was lucky to have so many knowledgeable mentors in the MI and pro audio industries, but much of what I know comes from doing the work hands-on for so long. My customers benefit from that because I understand the products I sell them within the context of how they will be using them. It’s not just about specs and features on paper but how it influences what you do.
These days, my focus is on products and keeping up with the quick changes in our industry, and that’s nearly full-time work all by itself, believe me! I spend around 200 hours per year training with manufacturers and more time outside of my work here getting certified in different technologies, the latest being Dante audio networking. Though, for my customers, this simply means that I really understand what we sell. I invite all of them to invest time in speaking with me about their goals and gear before purchasing anything, and when they do, their decisions are much more informed and better considered. In other words, they buy the right products the first time and get the most out of them.
I’ve always been service oriented that way, though. In fact, my customers might be surprised to know that I even worked for the Saturn car company just to learn their extraordinary way of relating to their customers. So it’s no surprise that I chose Sweetwater when I was ready for a big change in my MI and pro audio career, and apparently, I chose right because this will be my 14th year here at Sweetwater!
As your personal contact here at Sweetwater, please let me know anytime I can offer help or advice.
