Why do I need to add a card on file?
As part of our robust buyer protection measures, all Gear Exchange sellers are required to keep a valid and active credit card or debit card listed as the "seller card on file" in the case of a refund or a return. Prepaid cards may not be used as your seller card on file.
We will only use this card to process return/refund costs when your seller earnings are not available to cover an amount due. Here are a few examples of when we might need to charge the card on file:
- A buyer is receiving a refund after you used expected earnings to pay for the shipping label
- A buyer is receiving a refund and you are responsible for return shipping costs
- A buyer is receiving a refund after your earnings have been transferred or spent
