For sale here is a vintage Global “lawsuit era” Japanese made copy of a short scale Gibson SG EB3 style bass guitar. Likely in the 70s and likely from the Matsumoku factory who was making the large majority of these type instruments at the time.
Plays great, and has a full, vintage tone. Pretty straightforward -- no problems at all. The finish has a nice patina to it. Used, but not worn out. Surprisingly few marks, buckle scratches etc. for its age. The real deal for a fraction of the cost of other vintage basses.
The sound is nice, warm and rounded. Exactly what you would expect from a real vintage instrument. Plenty of low end due to the big humbucker and also a nice punchy bridge pickup.
Overall, this is an amazing little bass. It's in great condition other than a few minor bumps in the finish. I’ve tried my best to show these in photos. If you need more detailed photos, contact me and I’ll try to take more.
Before listing, the bass was cleaned, touched up, frets polished, fingerboard conditioned. new strings (Rotosound Flatwound 40-90), and setup with medium low action.
This guitar has no case or gig bag, but I pack my guitars up very well and insure your package.
·Mahogany laminated SG type body with cherry red finish, mahogany C shape neck with rosewood fingerboard, and 2 ply black pickguard

2 pickup switches, 2 chrome covered humbucking type pickups, large chrome cover over the bridge

21 fret bound rosewood fingerboard , frets show virtually no wear
·
2 volume knobs and 2 tone knobs (one missing its cover), top mounted input jack, black peghead with 2 per side chrome sealed tuners
The scale length is 30.25", so it is easier to play (especially for smaller hands) compared to a full-sized scale length bass guitar. Extremely comfortable! Weighs about 8 pounds.
