The JHS 3 Series Compressor is an affordable, straightforward guitar pedal designed to provide everything from subtle tone smoothing to highly squashed, high-sustain compression.
Key Controls & Features
- Volume: Sets the overall level of the pedal. It provides enough clean gain to be used as a boost into your amplifier or other drive pedals.
- Attack: Controls how quickly the compressor reacts to your initial pick stroke. Turning it down gives you faster, more immediate compression, while turning it up allows the initial note transient to bloom naturally before clamping down.
- Sustain: Adjusts the overall amount of compression and extends the ring-out time of your notes.
- Bright Toggle Switch: Compressor circuits based on vintage topologies (like the Ross/Dyna Comp style) naturally tend to darken your high frequencies. Flipping this switch up engages a brighter EQ voicing to restore sparkle and keep your guitar from getting lost in a dense mix.
