For anyone viewing this and saw the xlr housing stuck. I finally gently twisted it around till it came out. No rust no damage. The housing was just tight
I want to start by saying this unit has a couple minor issues. It Is widely known that these units had XLR jacks that stuck a bit. This did not affect the functionality of the unit just hard to get them out if you shove them in too hard, be gentle or just leave it as it is in the rack. I use this for a mobile rig and in my studio.
The unit also has discoloration on the faceplate. If you look this up through a Google search engine you will find that this happens from the tubes over time generating heat discoloring the faceplate if used often.
I took the liberty of taking the top off of this unit to show you that the circuitry is in pristine condition know that this unit will be fantastic and work properly. It may not look shiny and new from the faceplate but it's not terribly noticeable at first glance. It has a little bit of rack rash on top as it is very heavy to get in a rack.
I wouldn't be selling it if I didn't need the cash. These units are not easy to find these days as they are not in production If you have any questions about this and the operation I'll be happy to take a video. If you're looking to add top notch truly shapeable sound to a smaller interface that needs more channels this is perfect for you and you won't find anything like this out there on the market today
This ART tube opto 8 has been in my possession for over 15 years. It is in perfect working operational condition. Every channel is pristine sounds fantastic and you can do so many things with the mixture of tube and clean sound. The pads and roll-offs allow you to shape sound even more with this unit before going in. You can use this unit analog out or through an ADAT cable. I generally would always use the pads on this as it helps with sensitive mics and headroom. Thusly allowing you to drive the tube stage.
