The Boss VO-1 is a compact vocoder pedal that allows guitarists and bassists to easily shape their instrument's tone with human vocal characteristics, traditional talk-box effects, and onboard synth engines—all without the mess and hassle of traditional plastic mouth tubes.
Key Features
Four Modes: Includes Vintage (classic electronic synth-voice), Advanced (higher clarity and modern tones), Talk Box (classic "talking lead" guitar effects), and Choir (rich, multi-part vocal ensembles that work without a microphone).
No Tuner Required: You do not need to sing perfectly in pitch; the pedal takes the formant characteristics of your voice and applies them to the notes you play on your instrument.
Effects Loop: Features an onboard effects loop, letting you patch in external pedals (like delay or distortion) specifically to the vocal/synth effect without muddying your clean guitar signal.
Connections: It has standard 1/4" instrument I/O, as well as an XLR/TRS combo input designed to work with dynamic microphones.
