Marla S15C tube guitar amp
Purchased back in March, but it has never left
my home. I would list it as mint, however being a soft pine cabinet, it takes almost nothing to leave little dimples in the wood, and there are a few on the top of the amp behind the handle.
I don’t have many hours on this amp; the tube/speaker probably hasn’t even properly broken in yet. And that’s not because it’s not an incredible amp- it absolutely is a killer! I just always reached for my acoustic guitar instead so I sold my electric and just no longer need this.
These generally have a very light poly coat. This actually seems to be raw wood- either that or it’s the lightest clear coat ever, but that’s not an issue for me- stain it/coat it however you want.
These are made in Asheville, NC by a really great guy with a great mission. These are boutique hand-wired amps without all the frills to keep things affordable. One thing I really like is no pcb board to go bad. If this thing happens to break, it’s not a “throw away”- it’s a lifetime amp.
It will be double-boxed and insured for shipping with UPS
from Marla:
The S15Classic is a handwired Class A tube amplifier that delivers boutique tone at a price working musicians can actually afford. At $999, it's the only American-made, hand-stuffed amp under a grand—period. Overseas-made tube amps exist at this price, but nothing else is handwired and built domestically.
Powered by a single 6L6 tube pushing 15 watts of pure Class A power, the S15C responds to your touch like a vintage amp should. Roll back your guitar volume for crystalline cleans. Dig in and it breaks up with rich harmonic overtones. The 12AX7 preamp delivers more gain and headroom than its predecessor, giving you a wider palette of tones before you even touch a pedal.
Built Different
Every S15Classic is hand-stuffed, hand-soldered, and hand-tested in Asheville, NC. We use Orange Drop caps for midrange clarity, Mojotone King Caps for dead-quiet operation, and Hammond/Heyboer transformers that give this amp its signature punch. The 12" Mojotone Anthem speaker is voiced for clarity and authority whether you're at bedroom volume or cutting through a full band.
The Controls That Matter
The wide-sweep LPF (Low Pass Filter) handles your treble. But the real magic is the HPF (High Pass Filter)—not just a bass knob, it's a tonal gateway. Push extra low end into the power section and transform from tight, modern lows to spongy vintage grit and squared-off fuzz-like drive. Most amps need a pedal stack to get there. The S15Classic does it on its own.
