Offered for sale is a 2025 Rickenbacker mono output 4003S in Jetglo, purchased new in April of last year right here at Sweetwater. I am begrudgingly selling it for one reason alone: I’ve tried for over a year to adapt to the ergonomics of this beautiful bass but I’m one of the unlucky ones who has difficulty playing it either sitting or standing! ;-( So it’s being listed here to find a happy new home. Everything works perfectly and it has never had any issues. It sounds like it should! Plus the push/pull upper tone pot is a cool feature to engage the older 4001-ish signal path for vintage Rickenbacker tone. The weight of the bass is 9lb 10oz.
The condition is nearly flawless as you can hopefully see in the pictures (apologies for the bits of fuzz that my microfiber cleaning cloth left behind - apparently my camera sees better than my eyes do). The rosewood is spectacular and looks even better in front of you. The bass has never left my smoke-free home and has very little playing time on it. In fact, it still has the factory strings installed. Being a 2025, it has the improved V2 bridge. Something I did to try to make it easier for me to play was to replace the factory pickup cover with a treble bezel, which is installed. That is the only modification.
The sale includes the bass, very heavy bomb-proof Rickenbacker case, original pickup cover, unopened case keys, unopened polishing cloth, wrenches, and a new set of Rickenbacker strings that were never installed. The case will be packed into the original Rickenbacker shipping box, then that box will be packed into a larger outer box with bubble wrap.
