These unplayed K Custom Hybrid Hi-Hats represent one of the most unique and versatile hi-hat designs ever produced by Zildjian.

Developed with legendary Japanese drummer Akira Jimbo, the Hybrid series was created to blend the darkness and complexity of traditional K cymbals with the articulation and projection of brighter modern designs.

The result is a remarkably versatile set of hi-hats capable of moving effortlessly between studio recording, fusion, pop, rock, worship, and contemporary session work.

The unique 14.25" diameter places these hats directly between traditional 14" and larger 15" models, creating an exceptional balance of speed, body, articulation, and wash.

Sound Profile

The K Custom Hybrid Hi-Hats are built around a distinctive concept:

Darkness with brilliance.

The traditional-lathed outer playing surface delivers the warm, complex character K-series cymbals are known for, while the brilliant inner section adds articulation, definition, and projection.

The innovative reverse Mastersound-style hammering on the bottom cymbal increases surface contact between the cymbals, producing:

• A warmer "chick" sound

• Improved foot response

• Controlled wash

• Enhanced articulation

• Greater recording versatility

These hats can sound remarkably different depending on where they are struck, making them one of the most expressive hi-hat designs Zildjian has ever offered.

Nick's Notes

These are among the most interesting hi-hats Zildjian has ever produced.

The 14.25" size lands in a sweet spot that many drummers immediately notice. They retain the speed and control of 14" hats while adding some of the fullness and authority normally associated with larger 15" models.

For players looking for a single professional set of hi-hats capable of covering nearly every musical situation, the K Custom Hybrids remain one of the strongest choices available.

Shipping Assurance

Ships fast, packed securely, and fully insured.

Every cymbal ships using NDG's Structural Immobilization Method, engineered to eliminate internal movement and provide maximum protection during transit.

Note on Handcrafted K-Series Cymbals

Zildjian K-series cymbals are individually hand-hammered and tonally shaped at the factory. Natural hammer marks, tonal shaping impressions, finish variation, and minor handling marks are normal characteristics of the series and are not considered defects.

Note on Brilliant-Finish Cymbals

Brilliant-finish cymbals are polished and buffed to achieve their reflective appearance. Fingerprints, polishing swirls, finish variation, factory handling marks, and minor cosmetic evidence of manufacturing or packaging may be visible under direct lighting or close inspection. These characteristics are common and do not affect performance, structural integrity, or sound quality.
