Serial # 23155143. Weight 4 lbs. 4 oz.
Slim Taper neck. Nut, saddle and pins are all TUSQ. Solid Mahogany back & sides. Sitka spruce top.
Beautiful TRANSLUCENT BROWN stain finish on back & sides. This vintage sunburst model normally has solid BLACK back & sides! Top has a great looking burst pattern, very evenly applied.
Purchased new only a few months ago. Selling because it is just too large for me. My aging arthritic shoulder seems to demand smaller body guitars from now on. I hung on to it just past the return window really hoping I would get used to it, but it is not happening. Hardly played as a result, just sits in the closet.
Sounds wonderful. Has that bright Gibson midrange snap and a solid bass thump. Original Gibson gig bag included...bag is in PERFECT condition, never used or left storage closet.
No scratches anywhere. Pick guard has some strumming rubs that are only barely detectable if held at just the right light angle or you can't even see them, looks like a mirror. Also, this model has a satin finish, which by nature will buff slightly to a more shiny "sheen" in areas where it is handled. There is a small three-inch spot on the edge of the left lower bout where my forearm rested on the top corner that buffed the finish a slight bit, but it is so little that you have to hold the guitar at exactly the right angle in the light to see it. In fact, the camera would not even pick it up in photos. Otherwise, I promise you this guitar could easily pass for brand new.
BONUS: Mitchel's PlateMate solid brass plate installed on the interior side of bridge. It protects guitar's bridge plate from damage caused by ball-end strings. It also protects bridge pins and enhances the overall sound & sustain. Easily removable with no trace left simply by prying off with fingernail. Held in place by string tension (and a bit of weak sticky film about the strength of Scotch tape.)
Recently set up with 12-53 D'Addario XS Phosphor Bronze coated strings.
