Beautiful G&L ASAT SPECIAL with Hipshot including drop d lever, G palm lever, and B hip lever
This is a guitar from the early to mid 90s evidenced by the serial number on the 3 bolt neck plate.
It is a killer guitar!
Jumbo MFD pickups- sound like nothing else out there (in a good way)
Vintage spec radius (appears to be a 7.25” radius on the fretboard)
1&5/8” nut
25.5” scale length
Very comfortable
Everything works as it should
I bought it from a guy who was liquidating the estate of one of his musician friends and I get the impression that the guitar spent a lot of time in its case until its owner wanted to play some cool pedal steel sounding licks with the Hipshot.
For its age, it’s in excellent shape. there are a few light scratches/chips out of the clear coat, but nothing serious.
the body appears to be a single piece of swamp ash- something you rarely see on guitars these days.
G&L went out of business in the fall of 2025 so there won’t be any more of these and certainly these older models are becoming more and more scarce.
The original hardshell case is functional but is missing the middle clasp lock and the lining is slightly messed up where the hipshot has been rubbing against it over the years.
